    I highly suggest doing a night at a monastery in koyasan. The birth place of Japanese Buddhism. Nothing like anywhere I have traveled. Moss covered tombstones intertwine with larger camphor trees walking to the temple in the center.

      @mateuszkubicki1423 I stayed at the famous ekoin and it was definitely not cheap but I highly suggest staying there one night. It's so far away from everything. We went on a tour of the cemetery hosted by them. And u can go in the morning when it's all foggy and watch the monks serve offerings to the temple.
      There are many affordable ryokans. I highly suggest reconsidering and staying at an more affordable option. The ekoin a night tour is also offered to non staying guests.

    Plz try going to smaller cities in Japan! You’ll really find the beauty of Japan there since Japan itself is a country rich of culture and history. But ofc, if it’s your first time going then Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto are a must.

    • @jyr6453
      @jyr6453 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      Take it with a grain of salt (not a local), but based on what the folks on the u/JapanTravel Reddit community have said, apparently locals absolutely detest the Go Karts for being loud, adding to traffic and overall annoying. I’ve read that a lot of people have had positive experiences with the GoKarts, but you may risk being seen as a menace.

    • @OrangeSoda1432

      It’s actually not. Kyoto is 15 minutes away by bullet train, so is Kobe and Nara. You literally don’t have to stay in Nara and just stay in Osaka so you don’t carry your bags around from place to place lol

    • @wewwew236
      @wewwew236 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@stevenphan4453 Osaka has nothing to offer aside from good food. Kyoto is not 15 mins but 30 mins. Nara is 50 mins from Osaka (not 15 like Kevin here claims, from Kyoto it is faster). There are many things to see in Kyoto instead of Osaka. Staying in Kyoto for 4 days (for 1 of these you can go to Nara) and staying in Osaka for 1-2 days is a wayyyy better option (and 1 day for Kobe) if you are not going for the Universal Studios.

    • @wewwew236
      @wewwew236 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@OrangeSoda1432 Nara is definitely not 15 mins away. In fact, it is closer from Kyoto. And Kyoto is not 15 mins either (unless you are staying very close to Shin-Osaka station).

      @@wewwew236it is not closer from Kyōto 😂
      It really depends on where you are and where you want to go.
      We live exactly at the border of Osaka and Kyōto, and fastest way to Nara city goes through Osaka not through Kyōto.
      But if we want to go to rural Nara the way through Kyōto is fastest.

    Did all this in 10 days. Honestly, Tokyo itself could be a 10-14 day trip. Was able to explore almost all of it in 4 days but wouldn't recommend unless walking 15-20 miles a day is your thing.
    You could easily take a quick day trip to Nara from Osaka, it's like an hour away. Quick and easy. Could also easily make a 10-14 day trip of the entire Kansai region (Osaka, Kobe, Kyoto, Nara). Also took a day trip to Fujiyoshida and that was awesome. Clear skies of Mt. Fuji and great view at the famed Chureito Pagoda
    Really wish I stayed in Arashiyama more. Partly cause I stayed in a ryokan with multiple private onsen but just the area is too beautiful

    4 days in Osaka is absolutely insane, I lived there for years and can confidently say there is no reason a tourist should ever go there unless they have a very specific destination in mind. Literally all there is is Osaka castle which is a concrete recreation and not even in the top five castles in Japan. The street food that it’s famous for can all be found everywhere else in Japan. Every neighborhood in Osaka has a nicer and better equivalent in Tokyo….

      @@ika849 obviously Kyoto is the big one apart from Tokyo, but you could have a great and varied experience just from doing day trips from Tokyo. Nikko, Kamakura, Karuizawa, Hakone… Most common mistake I see in people’s Japan itineraries is they try to be way too ambitious. You don’t need to see every city, pick maybe two cities and beyond that focus on small, rural destinations like historic sites, onsen, beaches, skiing, hiking etc.

      Anywhere central in Kyoto, around Nishiki Market area, you can walk to a lot from there and subway further out. Take the subway, very convenient. Osaka near Dotonbori is very central and puts you near a lot. Honestly I wouldn’t spend a lot of time in Osaka, it’s very repetitive, go to Tokyo and Kyoto or elsewhere. Two nights in Osaka was more than enough.

    Tokyo good but crowded, heaps to do and good fun, just don’t expect to let in to places especially in peak hour
    Mt Fuji is overrated
    Kyoto is overrated and way too overcrowded, there are other city’s that are better and more the same, never felt less welcome by the locals
    Osaka good but crowded, also don’t expect to get let in everywhere during peak hour

      You missed the point,
      Universal Studios is a fake place! Nothing to do with Japan. Japan has history, culture, special cuisine and much much more to offer that makes the country unique, beautiful and a place that many of us would love to visit.
      Many of us only get to see other beautiful countries through the lens of people that recommend places to visit. We count on people that have been there and show us the other side of the world.

      @@circuscats67 “Fake” is a harsh word. Honestly I think you’ve missed the point of a “holiday.” For me, a holiday is BOTH to enjoy myself and experience new cultures/food. Who called in the fun police?
      Many other people also look to others for new exciting recommendations they don’t get in their home country. That is why I am 100% justified to recommend Universal because it is a NEW and amazing experience that others don’t get privilege of experiencing in their home country.

    for gods sake, tokyo is not japan. like if you want to visit japan you go to somewhere where japan actually is. what do you have in tokyo, the town looks almost like every other western city, besides the kanji you find everywhere you probably wouldn't notice a difference between it and new york.
    go to shirakawa-go or so

      @@pancyn5914going to the countryside, smaller cities, the actual japanese life. there are incredibly famous villages. shirakawa-go, Tsumago-juku, or at least pay the deers in Nara a visit... the fox village in zao.. if you like animals of course. one of the famous onsen towns. noboribetsu, go to hokkaido, eat all you can eat seafoods, if it's about shrines and temples they're probably everywhere.
      but where do you find an edo theme park? Nikko!
      how about visiting the fuji-san, go to fujinomiya or fujikawaguchiko. visit the beautiful nature spots in shinshiro, or, if you like the anime tamayura, go to takehara and from there to okunoshima to cuddle some rabbits.
      or if that's more to your liking, go to okkinawa. not a great fan myself, but at least it's a unique experience.

    If you have just two weeks spend less time in Tokyo and visit an real Onsen city and Hiroshima and/or Nagasaki instead.

    • @user-ld7ym3ci3j

      I'm Japanese and I think the kimono worn by foreign tourists looks wonderful! That's because many of them are taller than Japanese people, so it looks great in photos.
      I think wearing kimono is also a form of cultural exchange, so I hope people wear them without hesitation!
      When I was in high school, a foreign exchange student staying with my family expressed a desire to wear a kimono. Seeing how happy she was when I let her wear it, I decided to give it to her as a present.
      I think It's most gratifying when guests come from afar and leave with joy!
