I fully agree escaping Tokyo to visit Yokohama is a great choice. Chinatown is amazing, Gundam Factory is awesome too.

I like how each day has a theme to it. Gives it more clarity and easy to remember what was done per day. I never thought about doing it that way. I’ll have to keep that in mind next time I show someone around Tokyo.

tbh i would avoid kabukicho it's really dirty and there's not much there. definitely visit shibuya and asakusa they give you 2 entirely different experiences of tokyo old and new.
Always depends what you're into, the new kabukicho tower is a pretty cool little place with games, food and drink with a very cool neon aesthetic, personally though since its neighboring golden gai I think thats the best place to grab a drink with the locals

A perfect supplementary itinerary, if I do say so. I'll be in Tokyo for New Years, seeing Comiket and a bunch other places, and your vid just reminded me of some nighttime spots I could check out as well. Hopefully it won't be too cold!

@@InakaAdventure Incredibly busy; I spent most of the time walking about the city, so I had little time to relax unfortunately. More focused on seeing as much as possible. But I did enjoy watching Godzilla in Shinjuku, going to Tokyo Tower, and visiting a secret gamer lounge in Shibuya called 84Hashi.
Never heard of that lounge, I'll have to take a look next time I'm up there

Another nice video! I'm leaving for Japan on 10/31 (missing Halloween in both places) and spending half of my time wandering around Kyushu. I'll even visit the elusive Saga Prefecture. I've been to all 47 but all I did in Saga in the past was use the Family Mart bathroom.
Dont think ive been to Saga yet, I think i was planning to go to an island around there though

at the imperial gardens marker, something truly underrated is japanese pine trees. they are so cool. so wavy and strange. on the east coast America, we have apple, plum and cherry trees so japanese pine trees are super unique to me.
I agree, there are a lot of pine trees in my own country but they dont look like the ones you see there
Enjoyed your video very much. One of my favorite places to stay is behind Shibuya where the embassies are, with plenty of privacy but $$$.

Visit also the new Toranomon Hills Station (especially the T-market) and the Tokyu Kabukicho Tower.
If you come in Tokyo in 2024, you must to visit the new Azabudai Hills (which has buildings with very original architecture, which also has plenty of green spaces with, among other things, lots of fruit trees on the roofs which are accessible and also with the famous teamLab Borderless which will reopen in this complex in January 2024 and also lots of new stores and shopping centers as well as works of art and even a new shrine)

Since its a city destination is mostly the same all year round. You might get some snow in winter and see illuminations though
Disney Sea is supposed to be THE best theme park in the world. I went in 2003 and can't wait to go again. Hopefully this year.
The aesthetics of Disney Sea were great, but i found their rides to be not as good as FujiQ or USJ, depends what you prefer but for me its all about the rides.

Yeah Winter in Tokyo is great, just replace some of the outdoor activities at day with going to see the Winter night illuminations.

Yo! Travelling to Japan in late Jan-Feb 2024: Any recommendations for the winter (Unfortunately not going north of the Kanto region)... and potentially any warnings for what to avoid or be careful of during the winter :)
Nagano and Gifu are amazing in Winter, great skii / snowboard spots & you can sit in the outdoor hot springs as the snow falls. If you have tattoos you can get banned from some Hot Springs but there are many that accept people with them too, specifically in Kusatsu & Kinosaki Onsen

Yeah You can can take the monorail to Toyosu to get to Teamlab from there

I always double check my itinerary with yours. As i check mine is covering everthing that you mentioned on the vídeo. Do you know if kusatsu onsen accepts people with tattos? Do you know how can i find it out?
Yeah according to the tourism association website there are at least 3 onsens that will accept any amount of body tattoos, just search for that and you'll be fine.

Depends if you want to stay out all night, you'll probably have to leave Shinjuku around 11pm to get back there or wait for the 5am first train

I got a pasmo card in 2019 and left 10k yen on it. it is the welcome to kanto card. Is that one technically one that expires after 28 days?
Never heard of that one honestly, looks like it was a limited run of 30,000 cards. So might be a collectors item now who knows

Yeah they updated the train lines in the last few years, in the past they were region locked but the system is so much better now!

I live in Japan. January is middle of winter so you'll see snow in the northern half of the country
From what I’ve heard, any time of year is a good time. For best weather and less crowds, mid-May after Golden Week and early to mid-November are great times to visit.
April is the busiest time of year cause of Sakura (cherry blossom) season, and fall colors season in October is also pretty busy, meaning prices of hotels and other things go up.
Does the ICOCA card still exist as can’t seem to find the app?

Suica works in osaka, all over the country (with a couple of small line exceptions)
I don't understand why the Tokyo Welcome Suica cards expire after 28 days. Seems like a huge waste to keep churning out Suica cards when they should never expire.
