- Easy potato fritters recipe, perfect as a main dish, side dish, breakfast or simply a snack. Rösti are a traditional Swiss recipe, very common either in the italian region called Alto Adige-Südtirol.
For these pancakes the potatoes are raw and not cooked in advance, so they are quick to make. This traditional recipe is without eggs or flour, you will enjoy the potato crispness with their soft heart!
Although basic Rösti consists of nothing but potato and onion mostly, a number of additional ingredients are sometimes added, as Speck, a typical italian pork meat (this is usually considered to be a regional Alto Adige-Südtirol touch).

use Aromat or Knorr powdered Chicken bullion in lieu of salt. It'll will give it a richer flavor. IT is a trick I learned of by a Swiss Chef whom studied in Zurich at a Culinary school and took his dishes to Aspen, Colorado and made the best food I have ever had in my life. Hermann did use bacon and onion like here in this version which is much more authentic than just plain shredded potatoes-

Just a question. Wouldn't it be good if I put one egg in the whole thing to let it stay together easier?
In traditional Rösti recipe there is no egg, you don't need it because the potato starch let stay the pancake together very easily. But you can add egg if you prefer, I'm sure they will be delicious! Let me know how they turn out 😍😘💕

omg is not rösti !rösti are made with potatoes cooked the day before with their skins on! if not, your recipe looks nice! but doesn't taste like rösti!
