I absolutely love the arts ! I first begin training in 1992. Met Sensie Russel at fitness club. We begin talking and he gave me the opportunity to achieve rank in the Dojo. Many of yrs have gone by since I've put my training on hold but never the burning desire to achieve more knowledge and ability from what Honchi Russel can teach .... THANK YOU HONCHI RUSSEL!

Curtis, after 40 years of training in the martial arts, I have found that a true teacher is able to offer an accolade prior to offering a critique to a student. It doesn't sound like you're a teacher nor a practitioner. More research needs to be done on your part with regards to your Jodan critique. Your ego and ignorance is not becoming of a True Martial Artist. I've always been taught to look for the positive is everything and everyone. Good luck to you and your family and may God bless you in your future growth in the martial arts.

Does Shuri-Ryu get any influence from Hsing-Yi? If so, is there a particular form or series of moves that are very close or right the money as Hsing Yi?

I love also the Chinese it's similar... But go to you tube and right (Chinese orchestra) and enjoy the natural music with out elictronic editions.

Of course they can’t. One was a hard style the other one was a soft style. Duh
Shotokan Karate is older than shuri ryu it's not a true okinawan it's from Arizona witch is in the west near montana
His Gedan Barai is too low not enough power
