  • Have you heard of the term emotional neediness? While it may sound very negative, it just means that you may have the tendency to depend on others too much to validate or approve of you, or your emotions.
    Know that some level of neediness is part of human nature, and many of the signs that may make someone overly needy are not their fault. If you find yourself relating, remember to be kind to yourself. You can always work to correct or improve upon behaviors that might make you too needy.

      Same I can't even stop myself from causing road rages when I'm driving because people drive so God damn slow and they don't indicate to turn at the right time but most importantly I'm so fricking sick of 70 and 80 year old people coming into shopping centres because all they do is just stand around like a statue without even moving out the god damn way🤦‍♂️

    I wasn't a needy person but just super affectionate. Over the years of hurt, I can feel I've gotten more needy and so I try to stay distant at the same time because my personality was already overwhelming for some before and I don't wanna mess people up now, especially being the age I am I feel like it's embarrassing.

    So, if a person DOES have some/all these traits… then what?
    It’s nice to put a label on many of the issues in these videos but I wish they had a “follow up” video that was linked describing ways you can help, heal or improve.
    I guess it just seems like a ton of “diagnosis” with not so many “help” videos.
    More videos on how to heal/help/improve/grow would be great.

      Yes! Exactly! Sometimes it makes me more anxious too! Seeing all these things and saying ‘yep, yep, i have those- then having no idea what to DO about it. It’s the reason I sometimes quit watching these…. I get a big list of “problems” and not so many “solutions”

      I will explain here
      Emotional Neediness when we have these feelings we need to feel happy because it make us feel full euphoric more confident kind of fuzzy feelings to just take the place we feel void or stressed or sad
      We either get this feeling from someone we love and need more time to spend with them to fulfill this void because we feel we can't get feelings of happiness when we sit alone so Knowing the key of your happiness ( NO NEED TO SPENT YOUR TIME WITH THE FAKE ONE JUST THINGS you do with yourself praise gift helping adults writing your positive traits a bath sleep going out)
      The more you know the key of your own happiness done with your own hands the less needy for others attention you become
      You should write on a paper things make you happy just sit in silent place and think deeply
      Also helping others will make you feel happy and let you feel that you are so loved and skilled person you will get praises alot and a lot of sweet words
      Think deeply of that and take care of yourself
      Wish you summer full of sunshine ❤

      Honestly I think the best thing to do is to go to a therapist because that way they can help you sort out those issues I think this video is just to see if we have any of these signs but they should tell ppl to talk to a therapist because it's important to really get to the root of why those issues may occur

      if you can't aford a therapist or if you can for that matter the idea is to still focus on you look inside mind, body, and soul learn what inside you, outside in your immediate or other enviroment, and the conditions you are living under all feel to you does it please your mind body and soul for this if not? Why not? What can you adjust or what needs a total rewrite? Eatting better & getting better gut health will also help because it links to the rest of your system so you can function better on all levels.
      don't be afraid of tough answers like I'm dissatisfied with everyone in my life & how they treat me.
      Would then lead to the question of what does my mind and soul define dissatisfied as? Not what the dictionary or another says uncovering this gives you a soul language to comprehend.
      This leads to asking knowing this base definition: What treatment do they do I do not like that causes me to feel dissatisfied? Would lead to something like they don't respect me or hear me?
      Meaning I want and need respect which means I must respect myself first (define how this looks and what does this mean to you) and if no one hears you do you hear you? (no, you do not else you'd not allow yourself such lack of inner respect and not allow others to treat you in disrespectful ways) but you have to uncover what you feel inside is disrespectful in this case don't just go with what the movies or others around you say is disrespectful if disrespectful to you means they don't close doors but tone isn't something you care about then do you also close doors? Or have you learned to leave them open? Did you tell them to close the doors? But if they don't then you can't make them they just signal a thousand times after you've told them like twice close the doors that they do not respect you so that is your answer. Keep working to respect yourself inspite of it. ect. this leads to the road of solution which in this case can you live with such disrespect for the rest of your life? (no, else you would've been fine with it by now.) so this means you need to ponder more is moving what is required (do not care about how or resources now just think I must move and look to move for opportunity or resources later) what is your life once you move, think you have already moved it has already happened what is your new world looking like feeling like without these disrespectful people to harm you?
      you need to connect to you be your own friend not in a way to harm others but learn who you are on all levels mediation, prayer, self analysis, do not care what others think, stop behaving like they wish or expect if this is not aligned with you (but this will ruin your known life, but this is required to get to you) if you say I want to do something or I will do something at this time make this sacred and a promise to yourself then do what you said raise yourself keep your self made promises. ect.

      There's this girl in my class. I barely know her. She approached me one day and said she kinda knew me since she saw me walking my dogs and she said "hi" to me once. ONCE. She wanted to be my friend since she doesn't have many friends so I pitied her and agreed to be her friend. I hate touching. I made that very clear to her. She wouldn't stop touching me even when I keep pushing her hand away. She keeps holding my hand, yanking my arm, slapping my back, poking me, wrapping her arms around my arm, etc. She keeps making me go everywhere with her. She even wanted me to go to the bathroom with her. She wouldn't take no for an answer so I often had to lie to her. I told her how I felt one day and that we shouldn't be friends anymore because I didn't want to hurt her any further. She still does it.

      There was this other time when she needed me to go to the nurses office with her again and stuff because she's sick. I already took her there a few times so she should know how to do it herself already. She kept guilt tripping me. "PLEASE, I DONT HAVE ANYONE ELSE!" she said. She even told me she puked. So, I took her there. Since the other times we did it her way and she pretty much wasted 2 hours of my fucking time, I did it my way this time. The girl wouldn't stop touching me despite me glaring at her and pushing her hand away. Even the others saw how uncomfortable I was. When I took her there and was about to leave, she begged me to stay. She even wanted to give me money just to make me stay... She looked so pathetic and I pitied her so I stayed (without taking her money). I waited until her parents arrived to take her home. Exhausted. I was so exhausted. Even talking about her makes me exhausted.

    Talking about only 2, 3 and 4 signs.
    How can’t I be unsure of me when people judge me for being who truly I am?
    I have social anxiety and no one will give me support. They will say I’m crazy and to move on.
    I have trust issues because everyone I once knew left me for others, and all because I’m an introvert.

      I am an introvert and have social anxiety, trust issues , people have abandoned me and judged me but despite all this i don't need anyone to support me (it doesn't mean that i never wanted support) . This is because they wud never really understand what i am going through . So all i can tell u is become someone on whom u can rely on , make urself the best version of you not for anyone else but for urself . Stop thinking about what others feel about u . Think about what u feel about urself and strive towards being better every day. Atleast it worked for me , i left clinging and depending on others and became independent.

      Sameeee🙌I am an anxious introvert. People in my country don't give a crape about anxiety and psychology so no one really understood me and I always felt alone. Until I found a friend who is always curious and understanding. She gives me space and will be there for me when I need. Hopefully you would find a good friend like mine too😇😊😊until then don't be soo hard on yourself, and do love yourself, you r not alone.

      I've been there too... But with every encounter I could release some of the trauma-energy that caused this neediness in the first place. lots of crying but gratitude for the pain too because I allowed it to get out of my system... Now finally I can hold the space for these energies and can reflect on them when they occur without them controlling me... and finally I have someone in my Life. It's one of the most beautiful experiences I've ever had... Please don't give up.

    Yep. I know I am a handful which is why I distance myself from others.I don't want to bother them with my problems.I have too many so I can't have a stable emotional connection with anyone.But its ok.

    This is so true. I found out that I have anxiety a few months ago and I found myself more clingy and feeling more attached to close friends around me. I seek for reassurance and comfort in them so I always wanted to make more friends. but in reality, having anxiety restricted me from being confident and start a conversation with my classmates so it’s rather hard for me to make new friends.

    I used to fall apart by any incline I was going to be abandoned. I immediately would let the flight or fight feeling take over. Because, any disagreement was the end of the relationship for me. I am extremely proud of myself that I have conquered that fear, the need to be reassured, validated constantly that everything was alright.
    It took me 46 years starting as a toddler to a tortured adult of always feeling not good enough. It is possible to have a breakthrough. It is the most liberating feeling along with total transparency and honesty.

    I definitely have trust issues, I'm super cautious and weary of people and I take note of the things they say and do. It's just my way of filtering out liars and cutting them off, I don't want to be surrounded with liars in my life. In a sense though I am super affectionate and love spending time with those I care about. I think it could come off as being clingy

    This actually helped me see that I have grown from being emotionally needy to more independent! Though, talking to certain people makes my day better, I don't depend on them to keep myself going! :) I'm happy about my growth!

    I tend to be very independent but I recently realized that when my partner is around, I suddenly become excessively needy... Not only I feel like I need her to cuddle and "take care" of me and I desire to spend a lot of time with her alone, but I also need constant reassurance of how she feels about me and so on... And if I don't receive these kind of things I become very anxious (I suffer from anxiety and panic attacks). The truth is, I realized that all my life I felt like I had to do everything on my own and that I couldn't count on anyone but me, so I keep on doing everything alone on a daily basis but when it comes to her, she's the only person I feel safe with, and that I feel I can be vulnerable with.... So the moment I'm with her, I transform into this needy child who needs hugs and attention and reassurance.... I feel bad because I don't want to burden her with my insecurities...

    I feel like society is so intolerant of neediness that wishing for connection to ANY degree is frowned upon. I feel forced to pretend that I don't need anybody. And that's not enough! You also have to become genuinely appealing to people, on your own, by yourself, before people would bother to care. And even then, will they actually care? Or will they only be interested in you because they actually want to tear you down and see you fail? I feel so cynical nowadays. I live with a fear that everyone I know is a narcissist, and that it may be hopeless to be trying to foster genuine connections.
    *edit: I feel bad about saying that. There are actually a few people in my life whom I do think I can trust, who do care about me. I get paranoid about it sometimes. But I can't really say that I "live with a fear." It isn't constant. Sometimes I do feel fairly optimistic. This comment is over-dramatic, in reality.

      @Gemma Dann I don't think I'm bipolar. Although it does seem like it, doesn't it? But no, I'd say it is genuinely difficult for me to tell if my periodic paranoia is unreasonable or not. It is somewhere in between. Ever feel that way? I think it's appropriate to feel insecure about things when life is genuinely uncertain.

      I completely understand this! I always feel like I'm the person who cares too much about those I'm close to while they barely care at all. And at the end of the day, it just leaves me feeling down and depressed...every once in a while, I'll have a good day where I'm not plagued by all of my insecurities non-stop and can believe the best in people, but those days are getting rarer and rarer.

I get the sense that girls are super reluctant to talk about feelings with guys they're friends with. Like, any sign of weakness in men is just so repulsive to them that friendship with them can only ever be on a shallow level that doesn't involve caring about each other's feelings. True?
      Do you give hugs to guys? My life is not in good enough shape right now to be trying to look for a relationship, but I really wish for a genuine friendship with a girl. Hugs go SUCH a long way.. Each one I get is very memorable, because it's such a rare occasion. I'd be thinking about them to soothe myself for many months afterwards. I feel so envious of people that just get hugs on a regular basis. But I'd hate to ask for a hug. I fear that comes off as overly needy.

      @Gemma Dann I think you can take it for granted that your guy friends find you attractive. Heck, even if they don't find you attractive, there's ALWAYS endorphins going on between guys and girls. Doesn't mean they secretly expect more from you, though. I wish girls could trust guys not to expect friendships to turn into relationships, and also feel comfortable with the endorphins. I'd like to think that when guy-girl friendships actually work out, they're tremendously empowering to both parties, precisely because of that dynamic. It's very validating to still feel appreciated by the other gender at times when we can't make actual relationships happen, or don't want to, for whatever reason. To have emotional intimacy without the physical intimacy.
      It doesn't help that, when giving advice about how to find a girlfriend, girls very typically say that you're supposed to make friends with them first.. I think that's bad advice, and it undermines girls' trust in friendship with men. Guys should take transparently different approaches to girls they're interested in romantically and girls they want to just be friends with.

    I'm not sure if that's considered being emotionally needy but something that occurs to me a lot is that I only feel comfortable going out if I'm doing that with someone else, I feel extremely lost and and awkwardly frustrated if I'm going out by all myself, it's a feeling that everybody is staring at me and everyone is judging me on the inside and it kills me in a way that I cannot even put into words, however that's something I've been trying to work on but it has been worse in the past.

    I am emotionally needy and is something that I struggle with. The fear of abandonment runs deep and the feeling that he/she is too good for me is also an issue. I used to be co-dependant but I've gotten better at that at least. Trauma caused the abandonment issues. I hope we, my therapist and I get a hold on it so that I can be a better partner/friend/mother/daughter/and sister.

    Wow do a lot of these speak to me. Mostly the anxiety, self doubt, being unsure of myself, even indecisiveness. I can try to deny it all I want, but I can see it already having a toll on my own mind and my relationship. I want the relationship to work out too, but it being long distance and online, my anxiety and self doubt are hitting hard...

    I am needy. Yes its due to trust issues along with having a fear of failure and a fear of success (I have both). Therapy has helped me realize alot but I'm still a work in progress. I rather walk away first before I'm abandoned however.

    I also suffer from Socialize Anxiety, I’m not Crazy , I have just been hurt so many times throughout my life and it gets harder and harder these days to totally and 100 percent to trust anyone all heartedly because they play to many mind games and everything , so I chose to build a wall to try and protect me from getting hurt !!! I am very , very Smart and extremely sensitive, some people will understand me and some won’t !!!
    I’m really a responsible and a very Loyal person, but never felt that I was appreciate it at all, or completely!!

    I have grown less needy, despite my depression and anxiety, i have became more decisive. Trained my mind to become more antisocial and trained my mind to cope extreme somatic and visceral pain. I am happy to be out. I love this channel and the community, so kind and understanding that you guys are also responsible for my change.     I used to be the exact opposite of my current magnetic energy. I used to attract so many people in my life. So many so that I often felt overwhelmed and avoided hanging out. It was really bizarre. I loved being alone, but never felt lonely. These days it's exactly the other way around. I hardly get to hang out with my friends, even though I'm mostly the one taking initiative. I often/always ask, but they just tell me they don't have time, or they feel tired or they can only visit me weeks even months later after asking. I'm feeling very lonely and spend A LOT, (I would say an unhealthy amount of time) by myself through out the day. I do have a full time job, but I haven't clicked with anyone at work so far. I feel the more I take initiative and ask my friends, if they want to hang out, the more I drive them away. I always thought taking initiative is the way to keep in touch with people, but yea I really feel it's doing the opposite for me. On top of that it makes ME withdraw emotionally even more. I started building walls around myself, because it just sucks constantly getting abandoned or being told that no one has time for you... Im honestly at my wits end as to what I should do. I try to let go, be less needy, detach myself, focus more on myself and decided to give my friends a break and wait for them to make the first step. No idea if this is gonna do the trick, but yea... I really don't know what else to do anymore... I wish everyone, who's going through the same that things will work out for you.

    Cool video. Sometimes due to trauma it is hard for self-reliance so we can end up relying on others to much for comfort etc. This isn’t bad per se, it is just that we need to learn how to sue their selves because people become sort of addictions. Losing faith in yourself is terrible, luckily this could be remedied with practice and care

    I can relate to many of these, my past wasn’t the best and it is how I gained trust issues, I always felt like something was gonna happen, it also grew to me wanting constant reassurance or validation, it is what ruined my first relationship, I got too emotional attached and I was very needy of constant emotion, I always had anxiety and I had trouble trusting my own companion, all because I was too emotional and sensitive, I always hated myself for always being needy and wanting constant validation, i would always give too much emotion, I’m trying to get better but it’s going slowly

    i have an avoidant partner, while i myself am an anxious one. it's hard to assure myself that we're okay. i always feel that there's something wrong whenever we don't talk to each other, such as when my partner is too busy, or when she need some space to be alone. yes, i'm having a hard time trusting her and constantly needed some assurance. and it is unhealthy, cz i kept hurting my own feeling by having negative thoughts and flipping the thoughts over and over again in my head.
    and in the end, it's all on me to find ways to assure myself that everything's alright. even tho it's still hard, i am willing to try.

    Alright, just gonna say my part of this. I have DPD, and yes I'm very needy because of it, and you are NOT a bad person for being emotionally needy. Most of the things in this list you can't even help, such as having anxiety, you're wonderful how you are! I spent years upon years of hating myself because I'm emotionally needy and I'm finally starting to accept myself for it, so do NOT, I repeat do NOT think this video demeans you, so you are perfect how you are.     It’s these reasons that Im in the condition I’m in right now. I pushed her away. It was 100% my fault because I was too demanding of her. I wish I wasn’t me. If there was a button that changed me forever, I wouldn’t hesitate for a second.

    I’ve left a trail of wreckage with most relationships and would gaslight and blame my partner for a lot of my faults. I didn’t realize I was doing it until recently because it’s a very anxious response and I had been blind to most of my anxiety for a while until I saw your video talking about the impressions our childhoods left on our brains and I picked up that book how we love to see if I could make sense of it. I stopped halfway through I’ll admit because of alcoholism. But I did learn and make slight progress and that’s good i try every day to make sense of what’s there see if I can move any prices further along. It makes me wonder sometimes if I’m falling down an endless rabbit hole trying to get out.

      Emotional Neediness when we have these feelings we need to feel happy because it make us feel full euphoric more confident kind of fuzzy feelings to just take the place we feel void or stressed or sad
      We either get this feeling from someone we love and need more time to spend with them to fulfill this void because we feel we can't get feelings of happiness when we sit alone so Knowing the key of your happiness ( NO NEED TO SPENT YOUR TIME WITH THE FAKE ONE JUST THINGS you do with yourself praise gift helping adults writing your positive traits a bath sleep going out)
      The more you know the key of your own happiness done with your own hands the less needy for others attention you become
      You should write on a paper things make you happy just sit in silent place and think deeply
      Also helping others will make you feel happy and let you feel that you are so loved and skilled person you will get praises alot and a lot of sweet words
      Think deeply of that and take care of yourself

      The more you know the key of your own happiness done with your own hands the less needy for others attention you become
      You should write on a paper things make you happy just sit in silent place and think deeply
      Also helping others will make you feel happy and let you feel that you are so loved and skilled person you will get praises alot and a lot of sweet words
