    Thank you, Mo for the great content! As a Junior DA transitioning into a BA role, I enjoyed your take on the differences. The BA role does require more stakeholder engagement and business acumen over technical skills such as EDA in Python. Although I employ BI tools like PowerBI and SQL, I do miss the technical and challenging aspects of data analysis.

    This is a very insightful, informative video. Your content has greatly aided me on my journey from a teacher to a DA/BA. I've recently finished a 4 month bootcamp, using Python for data analysis and data science. Now, I'm upgrading my excel skills with some projects. Happy to say I've had some interest from companies for interviews. Long time coming! I always try to convey my communication skills as a teacher as well as my newfound data skills!
    Thanks again.

    I have a interview for a Business Analyst position at the company I work for on Wednesday. I am so nervous because i have no idea what it actually is. I just randomly applied because I was so frustrated with my current position at the company. I have been at the bottom of the totem pole in customer service doing the typical stuff for 5 years. I dont know why my job actually went through with giving me a interview for this position but I am feeling very worried i am going to tank. On the other hand this can really change the trajectory of my life especially with no college degree.

    Hey Mo! Love your channel so far. Was looking for some advice. I recently graduated with a B.S. in Marketing: my issue is that I didnt discover the beauty of data and analytics until around my last year so I was only able to get a minor. Ive been building my portfolio and taking courses since I graduated in May, so I feel like Ive built a decently strong foundation in SQL, Tableau, Excel, etc. But between my lack of a degree and professional experience I havent been able to land an entry level data or business analyst role.
    My plan was to keep working on certifications and stuff in your roadmap over the next year while saving to go get a M.S. in either Business Analytics and Information Systems or Applied Data Science. I feel like that combined with a Marketing degree could easily launch me into a career as a Business Analyst but I feel like my lack of professional experience would be concerning.
    Does this seem like a valid plan? Or do you think fighting to get an entry level analyst role right now and building experience from there is better?
    I’m in America if that changes anything.

    • @mo-chen
      @mo-chen  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In my opinion, experience beats other things, which is why landing your first job in data analytics is so hard. Going back to school for a relevant degree is a good option, or you could try and go for internships (paid or unpaid) to get relevant experience and work your way up. Thanks a lot for watching 😁

    i dont understand why Business Analyst make a bigger salary than data analyst. Data analyst have more technical skills, it takes longer to collect data, the solutions you present require more critical thinking. do you know why this happens? or the page is a very simple reference. Its like BI analyst and Data Analyst, both are importante but you need more technical skills in data analyst. im really confused

    Hi Mo, how do you call a person who analyze revenue and cost to improve performance?
    Because from your video I understand that a Business Analyst is not that different from a functional analyst

    • @mo-chen
      @mo-chen  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      People who look at costs and revenue would be analysts within the Finance department usually or some central department that oversees the operations of the entire organization, COO for example.

      @shimayobi ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mo-chen I see. So with the job title Business Analyst we mean a person who follows the projects and simplifies business requirements

    • @d0mochi
      @d0mochi ปีที่แล้ว

      @@shimayobibusiness analysts elicit requirements from stakeholders and then translate them to solution requirements. Whether these solutions are part of a capability or function being added or fixed, this is also why they are called functional or capability analysts. Business analysis in general is a practice of making changes in response to a need. Changes can be a software product, business process flow, capability or function.
