I chose the Xbox S after trying the PS5 & I couldn’t be happier. The game pass alone is well worth buying the X or S series. I don’t own any 4K TV’s so I didn’t see the point in buying the X series or a PS5. The S series Xbox fits all my gaming needs & at $299 this was a no brainer.

My honest opinion without anyone ask:
You don't need a 4K TV to feel the difference between Series S and PS5/Series X, the games on the more powerfull machines have better graphics settings like improved shadows, Ray tracing, draw distance, texturas, LoD, more games supporting 120fps and even 60fps, etc...
4K60Hz TVs are dirt cheap these days, don't understand how people buy new consoles and keep playing on old TVs.

I went from a PS4 to Xbox Series S this year. I like playing games. I had a PS+ subscription as well. But I ended up buying a lot of games which I didn't even played. Also the quality of games on PS+ was not good for me.
On Xbox, I subscribed to Game Pass Ultimate. Now I can play so many games and new games are being added all the time. Also I can play previous generation games on Xbox which I couldn't do on PlayStation.
Except loosing out on Sony exclusives, I'm not missing PlayStation that much. Also the prices of PS5 exclusive games are too high and Sony confirmed that that will be the case in future as well. And I can play Xbox exclusives with Gamepass. So I'm happy I chose Xbox this time. 🙂

I disagree with your opinion on the dual sense controller, the vibrations when playing games like Miles Morales always immersed me with those electrical surges through the controller. The touch pad is useful when typing and adds another method of control on the PS5, and it had been utilized to a decent extent in my opinion. The triggers as well add a brand new level of control, it makes each trigger have essentially multiple actions or levels of activation. In ratchet and clank, it made a huge difference. The speaker on the controller as well helped make the whole experience immersive and feel next gen. The PlayStation 5 controller does a better job at complimenting their games than the Xbox controller ever will. That’s all from owning both systems at a point and time.

There is a lot talk about frame rates and resolution with this generation. I think people are missing the point. What was wrong and become outdated quickly with Xbox One and PS4 was fluent experience. Last generation felt slow and that why I sold my both consoles and build PC. Now games load instantly and work smoothly. That’s great gaming experience and resolution comes secondary.
EDIT: Bought Xbox Series S and when I stared to play games on my 4K TV(using my Ryzen 7 5800X paired with RX6700XT PC with same display) I was a bit disappointed. Games looked dark and blurry on Series S. That experience is coming from person that used TV both 1080p and 4K as main PC display since 2017. I’m playing usually in 2K, 1800p or 4K resolution with graphical settings customised to my liking. What helped me fix Series S graphics was turning HDR off(you need top display to really enjoy this technology) in console settings. Colours are now vibrant and picture clarity and sharpness(subjective opinion)improved. I don’t mind lower resolution upscaled to 4K because it don’t look bad on 59 inch TV and gaming smoothness makes you forget about resolution and other marketing mumble because experience is great. I’m amazed how many 4K TV features current generation Xbox consoles can utilise. If you have any doubts about Series S don’t. That’s next generation console that delivers next generation experience or as I would say smooth gameplay/experience . But be warned cross generation games might look last gen if they’re not Series X/S optimised. Now I find myself turning console more often than PC and playing same games in “worse” graphics/resolution and enjoying them in same way. I never considered big consoles, my only regret is not getting Series S sooner.

Xbox series s is a 1080 beast and if you have it upscale to 4k it still runs 60 frames in performance mode. I play eso on it in up scaled 4k and it runs smooth like butter. This along with game pass is a great option. I sit far enough back that the extra fidelity of native 4k isn't a problem. Style wise if you are super well off you could get a switch oled, Ps5, and a series s. Then all your systems would match and you could get all the exclusives. 😉

It’s impossible for me to find a ps5 at retail value, even 1.5 years later, so looks like I’m gonna be switching to Xbox series s. Sony dropped the ball on this console release, because once I buy a system I keep it until the next one comes out. So that means Sony loses my business for 5-6 years because they can’t sort out their inventory. I remember when the PS4 released I was able to walk in the store and buy one. The fact that I can’t do this with ps5 has frustrated me to no end… sorry Sony but I’m out

You honestly can’t go wrong with either one. They both are impressive systems. If you could only afford one, you need to look at what’s more important to you. If you prefer Sonys exclusives, then go with the PS5. If you prefer Microsoft’s exclusives, then go with the xbox series s.
As somebody who’s been gaming for years and gets all the systems, from an unbiased opinion, I suggest to more people xbox at the moment. Not that I’m a fanboy or trying to persuade others to buy it. I look at what’s out and what’s to come. Xbox series S is the better deal at the moment. It’s a cheaper way to get into “next gen,” gamepass is a crazy good deal, Microsoft now owns 23 studios that are pumping out games and will continue to, and the system is backwards compatible with many xbox, 360, and one games.
Overall, you have to go with what you’re more into. You’ll have high quality games that are exclusive to either platform. If you’re big into gaming, I’d say get both if you could, but if you can only choose one, just weigh your pros and cons. Yes I said in the last paragraph I’d suggest the series S and stated my reasons why, but you have to only chose one, keep an open mind and go with the exclusives that mean more to you. They are both great systems.

Honestly, I think buying both of this systems is the way to go…. Now I know that’s more for us hardcore gamers, but hear me out.
Let’s be honest both Xbox and Playstation have huge things going for them, in my opinion Sony is the games, exclusives, single player experiences that you can’t experience elsewhere is where it’s at…. But Xbox, the social and multiplayer aspect on Xbox is unmatched, on Playstation I feel isolated, now not in a bad way but I feel like every time I’m going to my PlayStation is to binge a game and be alone for the rest of the night… now on the Xbox I feel like I always have friends, I feel welcomed, I feel that the community aspect in Xbox is by far the best of any platform really, that plus gamepass…. You can’t go wrong with that….
If you have the money, I wouldn’t say go buy both the series x and ps5, I’d personally advise to buy the ps5 disc version and the series s, assuming you get them at retail price it’s 800 bucks and you’re set for the next 6-8 years easily, and you’ll have both sides of the cake to enjoy, it’s a great time to be a gamer, both sides offer immense value and for the first time ever I feel both are completely worth getting!

I very strongly believe that, especially when speaking about an ALL DIGITAL console, it’s imperative to examine the extreme value of Gamepass.. This entire debate comes down to gamepass for me. With the digital PlayStation, you are locked in to paying up to 70 dollars per game, solely from the PlayStation store, where games remain at MSRP for quite some time after release. Now, if you purchase the Series S, and pay an additional 15 dollars a month for gamepass, or 120 dollars for a year, you can play a plethora of amazing games, including MANY day 1 releases, on gamepass. That’s cheaper than buying two brand new PlayStation exclusives.
Personally, most of the games that I care about playing are already on gamepass. Not to mention, Xbox’s backwards compatibility is much more available, and also, you can turn your series S into an emulator and play NES, GameCube, wii, N64c SNES, PS2, PS1 games, all on your Xbox series S, and it is completely legal. Not to mention the mod support for Bethesda titles is much more available on xbox also.
IMO, the ONLY reason to buy the PlayStation is for exclusives or if you are a hardcore gamer who cares deeply about specs. They have great exclusives. But keep in mind, that the exclusivity battle is going to intensify a ton in upcoming years as all future Bethesda titles will be exclusive, and now likely all Activision titles as well. Once COD is exclusive to the Xbox ecosystem, and to gamepass, if you truly think about the value, Xbox seems like a no brainer to me when talking digital gaming.

I dont see the point comparing the PS5 digital to the Series S. They have different business strategies. While these type of comparison would make sense to the Series X vs PS5 digital (its basically the PS5 without disk), it doesnt quite apply to the Series S. The most important point of the Series S is being affordable, available and Game Pass.
The Series S is less powerful, but a cheap entry to next gen games and XBoX ecosystem.
The PS Digital is basically the full Playstation 5 experience without disk, to make it cheaper when compared to the Series X.
Also.. Bethesda games are exclusive, its not even a question at this point anymore. Deathloop and Ghostwire Tokyo are timed exclusives deals before the aquisition. Why would Bethesda release Starfield only on XBoX, and later releases like Elder Scrolls, Fallout and DOOMs on both consoles? With that said its expected XBoX to have more exclusives through this generation.. its simple, they own more studios, more IPs and more money. Actually, this year is not over yet and XBoX has already released more exclusives than PS (and there is still Halo and The Gunk in December), people just dont realize it.. yet, lol.

With the recent update and inclusion of cloud gaming, the smaller storage space becomes less of an issue-at least with MS exclusives or games on Game Pass. Depending on your bandwidth speeds, you can try or even completely play most games available on Game Pass without using any of your storage space.

@@christophergarland2315 ahh classic copium! In what world is a series a better than a PS5? Game pass doesn’t even have many good games and the ones that are good most people have played anyway. You can play all of those on PC. PS5 is 2 and a half times more powerful than a series s and can do native 4k at 60. The series s will be lucky to do 1080p at 60 fps 🤣 but yeah, keep telling yourself the series s is better 🤣

The Xbox series s actually only has like just over 300 GB of usable storage after you account for the size of the OS, this is NOT enough.

    • @leroybrown9143
      @leroybrown9143 2 ปีที่แล้ว

It's 364 and I haven't had a problem with it and the usable storage on the PS5 is 660, which is also no enough. The fact is you're going to have to agressively manage downloads, expand storage or, more likely, both on any console you buy. None of them have "enough" native storage in a world of 100+ GB downloads.

    • @derryksandiford5434
      @derryksandiford5434 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@leroybrown9143 I'll agree. These current gen consoles should have come with 2tb storage MINIMUM. I understand that ssd's aren't cheap though. The 364gb in the series s is basically good enough for one install of COD and 2 other games or so, THAT'S tiny.

Do not buy the ps5 digital, and that s from a fan of Sony ..
Get the disc version ,Sony doesn't have their equivalent to the gamepass , so the digital version is a financial hole.
I m not against the idea to pay the a game full price but
    1) with the digital ,you can say bye-bye to second hand game ,so you can't get some of your money back
    2) always full price on their store even if you can get the physical game all new at 50$ you will pay 70$ on the playstation store no matter how much time passed.
    3) if you have physical ps4 games.
You won't be able to play them and will have to pay them all over again at full price on their store even if they are 3 years old.
The series s is much better value in term of accessibility, yes you will have the same issue has the ps5 digital if you have physical xbox games.
But you have the gamepass , 1st party developer put their games for free on the gamepass and they won't go away after sometime ...no,no, they will stay forever on the gamepass
The only case where I can recommend the ps5 digital now, is for the people whom never had a Sony console and whom do not play a lot .
    What I did to wait until I can get a ps5disc , I took a series s, ( first time I have a xbox console)
Or you can just wait 🤔

There’s also one other part of the video that wasn’t mentioned Accessibility. I consider that for less than perfect sighted people the Xbox series S is a great buy. There is more accessible things for less sighted people that you can use games like gears five Forza horizon, and definitely halo infinite. The narrator on the Xbox actually lets you set up your Xbox series S with less of a hassle or having to have a sighted person help you out. It’s up for the bait if the controller on the series S is enough because the haptic feedback on the PlayStation 5DE is pretty good but at the end of the day $100 to pay for game pass. So hope next video you will include the accessibility category thanks!

I'm a long time PS user but with the difficulties and scalpers I decided to go with the SS when it became available. Honestly it's the best choice I could have made and game pass ultimate and the overall performance has been more then satisfying for my needs. The only investment you need to make is the SSD expansion but I'd say it's completely worth it even if it is expensive. But it will still be cheaper then a series x or PS5 with the current prices for the more powerful consoles.
