@@sreeramcool44 If we consider the area and population of municipalities Neyyattinkara is 30 Sq Kms with a population of 70000 and for Nedumangad it is 32.5 sq.kms and 60000 whereas Attingal municipality is only 17 sq.kms area with population of 37000. If Attingal municipal area is extended to 30 sq.kms by including adjoining wards (which are thickly populated) of surrounding panchayats the total population will be around 80000.
Municipalities population and density and area as of now Neyyattinkara-70000-2400/km2-29.5km2 Nedumangad-60000-1850/km2-32.5km2 Attingal-37000-2200/km2-17km2 Even Now also attingal density is lower than neyyattinkara which is almost 1.75 times larger in area compared to attingal Then consider that nearby wards of near by panchayats are amalgamated with attingal municipality... Nearby panchayats of attingal municipality population and density 1.vakkom-20000-3700km2 2.manamboor-23000-1500km2 3.karavaram-15000- ----- 4.mundakkal-20000- ----- 5.kizhuvillam-32000- ----- Lets assume that 50% population and 50% area of all these panchayats has been merged with attingal municipality(maximum extent we can consider) Then population of attingal municipality=37000(existing)+10000+11500+7000+10000+16000= 91500!!!! But at the same time the area of attingal municipality will be around 17+2.5(vakkom panchayat half)+7+10+7+7=50.5,which will be almost equal to 50 km2!!!!!!! So considering panchayats only vaikkom has density of around 3700 km2.others are having density below attingal municipality.. So while considering 30-35 km2 area maximum estimated population of attingal will be around 37000+33000 =70000/-...(maximum value) Also mostly urbanized municipalities thripunithura and kamalasserys population,area,density data is ...(remember cochi corporation is their border while considering density!!) Tripunithura-69000-29.17km2-2400/km2 Kalamassery-71038-27km2-2600/km2 (kochis satelite cities are at par with neyyattinkara!!!!) So once again population and area wise Neyyattinkara>nedumangad>attingal Densitywise Neyyattinkara>attingal>nedumangad.... Note:Varkala having higher density in trivandrum district municipalities but it's overall area is less and it's urban nature is very less. I clearly mentioned that 50% merger of panchayats as well as other sceario of merger of some of wards of panchayats along with estimated density... Only vakkom panchayat wards have higher density....others density is at par or below already existing attingal municipality...... Other wards are thickly populated but not having higher density than existing attingal municipality.. If attingal have to reach 70000-80000 population by 30-35 sq.km area each adjacent wards should have an estimated density of around 2750-3500/km2...which is not practical according to data.. If have to reach that attingal municipality should have an average density of 2700-3000/km2 which is not practical... In Kerala only municipalities like thalassery,ponnani and vatakara have average density of around 3000km2(excluding big municipalities like Kottayam),which is due to their historical settlement,which attingal lacks... Attingal is a urban king...but not a king in all departments One more thing for your reference.. 1.Neyyattinkara, 2.thiruvalla/mavelikkara 3.muvattupuzha 4.tirur 5.perinthalmanna/ottapalam/valluvanad, 6.vatakara/thalassery.... These are the new six districts for which agitation is happening in Kerala for more than 2 decades....muvattupuzha and tirur are already famous all over Kerala.... At neyyattinkara seperate action council and office is there for neyyattinkara district formation !!!!
