I was moving far from family, far from the world I grew up with, but it was exactly what I needed. I needed to start finding my true self, especially after an abusive relationship, 6 years of college that left me stuck, and a father who disowned me. This song played when I was driving through that bridge. I never thought I'd cry so much as I got closer to the lights and the shore. I was home, I finally started to feel free. I've heard it a thousand times, and it can easily move me to the point of tears still. Such an impossible to describe emotion... As language adequate fails me, I'll simply say perfect.

I hadn't heard it before then, or if I had it was VERY briefly and I likely wasn't paying attention, but when he played it *I just knew it.* Deep down, it resonated with me, struck a nerve that had never been struck before. This song was telling me something I truly needed to hear, and that was to let go of the things weighing me down, that even though I was struggling then and had struggled before I would persevere and get through it, and that the people in my life loved me and would always be there to help me. This is an intensely well written song. The chorus is one of the best and most moving melodies of any song I have ever heard, and I have listened to literally everything. It almost gave me a soul attack the first time I heard it. Porter writes the music of people, and that's the only way to write music.
Unfold IS a single in the album afterall. And just like any other singles Porter has released so far (including ones from Nurture), there's high possibility that this one will get an MV as well. Also, there's the case with L.A.T.S. Not only did it have an Official Audio release and an MV, but also a lyric video!
I just recently noticed a detail and I loved it. Throughout the video, it shows some kind of an abstract landscape. However, near the end, it shows a realistic background. Perhaps, their photographs depicting reality. In other words, the whole video is a wholesome and optimistic transition from fantasy to reality.
I did not understand this song before, and even found it haunting when talking about shouldering the weight of the world. I have been feeling exactly like that. Then I realized today watching it again, it was about not regretting things going bad, because of how much bad experiences make you grow. I guess like "not wasting your suffering" as porter has said before.
I feel like the art style theme of one line art represents what this album is trying to say. You may not know where youre going, but in the end its clear what path you create for yourself.
I remember thinking how a nothing could top language, then I remember thinking how nothing could possibly top divinity, but yet here I am listening to a song that somehow topped them both. This is porter's best track IMO. Lyrically, melodically, production wise everything is perfection.
This is the cry dance tune to end all cry dance tune. Instantly nostalgic upon my first ever listen. Beautiful, touching and grand. I love it so much, so so so so much.
Wow, so in love with this visual style. It really matched the music and emotion so well. You take take almost any frame from this video and I'd wear it on a t-shirt lol.
Everytime I listen a Porter Robinson song, I have ended up with a smile on my face. Also I don't know how, but some beat or the vocal sounds goes on and on in my head. Great work Porter and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs. A fan from India 🇮🇳
I don’t think music has ever made me feel more emotional than porter’s music It taps into the depths of my soul and my past I feel so connected to it Porter robinson’s artwork will go down in history
I always viewed this song as perspective from my dog to me moving on from this life and wanting to show us the beauty of it. How they're not the same as they were. They hold the weight of the world holding on that long to give us love. I lost my boy over a year ago and this song is still HIS in my mind.

Porter's growth as an artist is insane
Wait does the fact that we have a lyric video for this, we might have music video as well??? If that happen it will blew my mind 🤯
Unfold IS a single in the album afterall. And just like any other singles Porter has released so far (including ones from Nurture), there's high possibility that this one will get an MV as well. Also, there's the case with L.A.T.S. Not only did it have an Official Audio release and an MV, but also a lyric video!
I can't stop revisiting this song. It brings to me to tears. Putting down my beloved dog tomorrow :( I wish I could make him feel okay again.
porter you changed my life for the better. thank you for existing when I needed you the most.
Worlds to Nurture in a single song, this isn't a music but a piece of Porter's soul with audio
LETS GOOO, Man I love this album so muchhh
i overlooked this track until now....beautiful song. this album just keeps giving.
I love the aesthetic of the whole album man
this became one of my favorite if not my favorite song from porter
Favorite chill part (00:58)
Yup. Probably the most depressing part
i don't know how much i love this piece.. like 24 hours straight listening this
just pure magic
this track makes me feel things I can't stop listening to it. It carries so much emotion it's phenomenal.
Everything about this is just beautiful and I could never get over it
Cool Name
Ts is so magnificent 😭
HOW CAN A RANDOM SCRIBBLES CAN GET ME SO EMOTIONAL
RIGHT!?
This is one of those songs that it took a while to grow on me, but especially after I heard it live its quickly becoming one of my favorites.
4:08 This got me right in the feels, i love this song
Love the slightly extended intro on this. Definitely one of the best on an album full of perfect songs.
Pretty sure that chorus is what it feels like to ascend into the astral plane
Wow, so in love with this visual style. It really matched the music and emotion so well. You take take almost any frame from this video and I'd wear it on a t-shirt lol.
Everytime I listen a Porter Robinson song, I have ended up with a smile on my face. Also I don't know how, but some beat or the vocal sounds goes on and on in my head. Great work Porter and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs. A fan from India 🇮🇳
just...
love it so much
these drums
They're amazing but I wish they weren't buried so deep in the mix
@@Camdavis11 i love how loud the vocals are in the mix, gives them priority over the other details.
@@epic4747 I agree! It's an amazing song and I definitely couldn't ask for anything more. But I wanna hear those drums lol
I don’t think music has ever made me feel more emotional than porter’s music
It taps into the depths of my soul and my past
I feel so connected to it
Porter robinson’s artwork will go down in history
This song means so much to me now. After losing my 15 year old beloved dog, I really am not the same as I was.
🕊️💕🙏🏻
I always viewed this song as perspective from my dog to me moving on from this life and wanting to show us the beauty of it. How they're not the same as they were. They hold the weight of the world holding on that long to give us love.
I lost my boy over a year ago and this song is still HIS in my mind.
absolutely magical album
The drop snatched my breath and I haven’t caught it since
Hands down the best song for Porter.
That place is still held by Sea of Voices
This song is incredible, by far one of the best things porter has ever released.
Plus, extended intro??? :O
Ever heard of music that makes you wanna fly?
Well this right here is just that
My favourite from Nurture… until tomorrow when one of the other tracks is my favourite.. love them all!
I like how it has the chords with it
Me too ¥~¥
There's something about this song that's just so mesmerizing
Just thank you, Porter. This is special
