As soon as I could, I bought an X Type from a main dealer and was presented with a leaping cat letter opener, which (with great pride) i gave to my grandad, who, even though he had the money for one, didn't dare treat himself to a Jaguar. This brand meant an awful lot to alot of people. THIS does not represent that brand. I'm not sure what this is, but it sure isn't an advert for a British performance car brand. When I see an ad for a car, what I want to see is information about it's performance and features, not a bunch of strange looking people who seem to have nothing to do with the car.

Totally agree. My grandpa brought his first jag in 1960 and started the family tradition thereafter. Seeing this advert has stamped all those memories out and made the brand toxic to its core buyers. So sad.

I'm not into cars that much but when I see a Ferrari or a Mercedes on the street, as a guy you can't help but look through the window and see all of the leather, crafted hand-stitched internals and think, if I was a millionaire I'd buy one straight away. I saw a Jag the other day and couldn't help but admire it.

As an old white guy, British but living in the US, I had been feeling a tinge of regret at selling my F-Pace which had been a terrific car but was getting on for seven years old, and replacing it with a German electric one. Now I am rather pleased I did, although I do feel a bit sorry for the staff at the local Jag dealership. I watched the Budweiser saga close up, and could not believe that a sane management would hand over responsibility for their core brand to an individual who, in retrospect, could not have been less in sync with their customer base. I have the suspicion Jaguar's management has done the same.
