I’ve removed my TV licence about eight years ago. I have had a no license TV license. Keep it in the hallway next to the entrance I have Apple TV and also Firestick iPad and iPhone on all these devices I’ve removed any BBC app apps, et cetera same on my smart TV I’ve removed BBC et cetera anyway thanks again for another good video
On the particular model of LGTV I bought for the bedroom. You have the ability to remove any of the apps apart from the LG store app. I don’t buy anything that has BBC fixed to there are some smart TVs like you say that are permanent 🙏🙏🙏
I don't get why the app itself is an issue if you can't remove it. Surely it would be more damning to have an iplayer account. If you don't have an account then clearly you don't use it.
@@sonictelephone1526 oh that’s true what you’re saying but for me personally in my house I don’t want anything to do with BBC or some certain other media companies. I don’t wanna see the apps or their stuff on my devices. I would never give the BBC money again and I just for personal reasons. Don’t want their stuff in my devices that I paid for. It should be an option to have apps that I want to download not pre-downloaded. And forced to have the apps.
I haven't had a TV licence in 4 years, I get my Monthly invitation letter to join the club and truthfully have had two TV Licence Gentelmen (Said with tonuge in cheek) within 7 weeks both left with a no thank you not today message and can't wait for the next arrival -
We used to have a similar situation here in Norway, with the exception that the license was required only if the household had a device able to receive TV signals over the air or via cable TV, not depending on which channel or programme you saw. When streaming services started being used at a large scale, there was a period where those who only used streaming services had problems getting acceptance for their right to not pay a license if they used their TV as a pure monitor after having the tuner part removed by a qualified TV repair shop. This changed, but the rest of us still paid our license directly to the public service broadcaster. The license no longer exists as payment directly to the former monopoly public broadcaster but as part of the normal income tax paid to the government. The government will, in turn, partly finance the public service broadcaster as a replacement for the lost license income.
I have gone from Mr.... to THE OCCUPIER so win win for me. I did the no licence required a couple of years back and when it expired I ignored them. Also cancelled Amazon and they do not hound me, they at least do it right by saying what I am missing when I use the website. BBC it's just lies and threats which is not the way to do business.
Get this, received the red letter today from Bbc, quote... “ if we find you’ve been watching live tv unlicensed, you could be cautioned and interviewed for a criminal offence..A tv license covers you for for all tv channels, pay tv services like sky tv and live tv and live tv on streaming services like Amazon prime Video” This is All encapsulated in a squared box in the letter, meaning, it’s totally , 1, unlawful to attempt to coherce with menace 2, to be completely ignored from the rest of the demanding letter...that’s a proven fact of UK law .....so, the only thing this new red letter informs me of is....a reference number...the legal occupiers address, the date it was printed....that’s it...the rest is complete utter ball locks...in red too😂😂😂
Such a lot of words. Just say "watch what you like". BBC licencing CAN'T be policed. Just close your curtains and be sure your tv sound can't be heard. After Savile and Edwards and many more I'm never gonna buy a licence.
I had social services round as I’m disabled and not working I mentioned that I have been harassed by tv license even though I don’t have a tv they have sent me a letter saying that you cannot watch anything without tv license the struggle continues keep up the good work
The biggest mistake people make is taking it serious. But I sometimes get riled up when I think how my old mum would panic if she forgot to buy her TV stamps at the post office , many moons ago. My attitude, for past 14yrs, is to ignore them completely. I have had 2 visits and laughed in their face each time. No conversations in any way and just laugh and shut the door. The is nothing they can do about it. TV Licence operatives are commissioned based Capita employees with no more power to ask you questions or enter you home than a lollipop lady has. @@Smellynelly67 They CAN'T tell.....well, unless YOU reveal your watching habits to a goon knocking your door. People open their mouths and seal their own fate, sadly.
Because tv licence covers all live TV broadcast on any platform via any device, u can of course ignore and watch but it won't be legal but that's up to an individual
@@MikeEvesNot legally, you can't. Fine if you want to break the law, anything goes, of course. But if you want to stay lawful, any live TV, regardless of channel, requires a licence ...because that's the way the legislation was written.
@MikeEves Or a neighbour with a grudge tells them. Or you forget to close your curtains. Or potentially a hundred other ways. The goal, surely, is to live without having to wonder, to go about your business without watching over your shoulder all the time. If you are relying on a particular set of circumstances to get away with doing something that's illegal, pray those circumstances don't change. Personally, I don't pay the licence fee and am entirely comfortable in not doing so, because I don't watch live TV and don't have a BBC, ITV or any other TV company login. I sleep just fine at night, and maybe unlicensed TV watchers can do so, too... but I wouldn't bet the farm on it.
I received a letter from TV licensing that does say that if you watch or record live TV without a licence on any device. "This includes all TV channels, pay TV service's like Sky and live TV on streaming service's like Amazon Prime Video. You also need a TV Licence to be covered for everything on BBC iPlayer" It doesn't say anything about TH-cam. I think it's absolute bullshit how misleading the article's are in local newspapers/media site's. I also see an article pop on Instagram about a Crapita data breach. And how people's personal data is/has been put at risk.
Crapita wrote to me recently with a windowed envelope saying ‘will you be in on 26th September’ on opening the brown envelope they go on to say I should expect a visit on that day or another day. I’m somewhat disappointed as I will only be in until lunch on the 26th and might miss them. A place under the memorial patio will remain unfilled for now.
If the Government is unable to provide a winter fuel allowance for those at retirement age, I deduce they can save £169 by not buying a TV License. How much does HM Government fund the BBC in conjunction and in addition to the tv tax?
Jon why is there not a block/password on the ‘live’ button of ITVX and other live streaming channels? There’s nothing to stop anyone without a licence watch this is there? The BBC demands money for watching any live commercial station, already funded by adverts, it’s not right in today’s world.
Tbh getting a £1000 fine is hardly heard of. Most fines around a £200 or so. The licence fee is £170 so getting a fine is worth the risk. The odds of actually being caught are minimal. Most people who get fined are the ones who just own up and plead guilty. Remember they have to prove not you disprove. Say nothing 🤫 Sign nothing ✍️ ❌ Ignore all letters. I'm on 15yrs now not paid a penny. They've even stopped sending me letters. 🤣
I remember BBB did a video when he tried to clarify what a TV channel was but the BBC were unable to do as they weren't able to confirm how many actual TV channel there were. They just told him that as the broadcasting landscape changes frequently they were unable to list every single channel
I felt very vulnerable at the top of a ladder unbolting the aerial and satellite dish. It was fabulous taking it all to the tip and throwing it all for recycling!
I had a fire stick several years ago and it was great for sideloading apps, you could get all these channels for free. On a different note my smart TV comes with UK TV channels preinstalled so I have no choice but to have BBC and so on stuck on my TV without me wanting it and it cannot be removed from your TV's OS.
I know you don’t get people into trouble I have fire stick I watch my programs on there who dose the BBC think they are deliberately misleading people like this thanks for sharing chilli great video has usual

Question why the Capita guy keeps trying to invite himself around to your place and yet he will not invite you around to his first.
MPs are not there to help the peasants. They are part of the theatre show that is "authority" (government) all they're interested in is more theft of your money (tax)
You just need to stop paying it. Remember: if you're still paying it, it's because you want to
If he is giving false information he should be prosecuted, that is the new government instruction.

Just how did you remove the BBC app from your TV when it's baked into the OS from the manufacturer. I'd be interested to know.
Birmingham Live's juvenile and semi-literate clickbait editor in chief, James Rodger, always turns comments off on his stories. I can't imagine why.
Cancelled my licence direct debit a year ago
The quality of journalism is this country has really gone down the toilet.
I haven't had a TV licence in 4 years, I get my Monthly invitation letter to join the club and truthfully have had two TV Licence Gentelmen (Said with tonuge in cheek) within 7 weeks both left with a no thank you not today message and can't wait for the next arrival -
the usual then. good work from you, thanks.
Rise in fire sticks must be the excuse for people cancelling the tv licence. Not the fact their is nothing to watch on bbc
What’s a wood stove got to do with watching tv?
I got a letter the other day and am being investigated apparently.
I've even investigated for a decade, they still don't know my name..
I'm still waiting for them to pay me a visit after numerous threats over the last 4yrs,the BBC will never scam a penny out of me.
@@MikeEves Yep, they know your name, like i do, it's Mr occupier.

Get this, received the red letter today from Bbc, quote...
“ if we find you’ve been watching live tv unlicensed, you could be cautioned and interviewed for a criminal offence..A tv license covers you for for all tv channels, pay tv services like sky tv and live tv and live tv on streaming services like Amazon prime Video”
This is All encapsulated in a squared box in the letter, meaning, it’s totally ,
1, unlawful to attempt to coherce with menace
2, to be completely ignored from the rest of the demanding letter...that’s a proven fact of UK law
.....so, the only thing this new red letter informs me of is....a reference number...the legal occupiers address, the date it was printed....that’s it...the rest is complete utter ball locks...in red too😂😂😂
Why are people still watching TV at all?
Exactly. By now it's all propaganda.
Birmingham must be a pretty quiet place, almost dull. In fact, if the Birmingham mail has to pad out its pages with this fluff
It's time for Itv sky and Google to stop the BBC using their names on their correspondence
Just do not pay it and keep your money out of the bank.
Such a lot of words. Just say "watch what you like".
BBC licencing CAN'T be policed. Just close your curtains and be sure your tv sound can't be heard.
After Savile and Edwards and many more I'm never gonna buy a licence.
Just wait till those TV detector vans come along... 😂
BBC should be disbanded
Thanks' to people like Chilli and his growing audience more and more are joining the " Fook U BBC " bandwagon.
Can I ask, will they fine you? My renewal has just come through and I don't want to pay it.

Why can’t you watch itv live? It has nothing to do with bbc???
You can
Because tv licence covers all live TV broadcast on any platform via any device, u can of course ignore and watch but it won't be legal but that's up to an individual
@@MikeEvesNot legally, you can't. Fine if you want to break the law, anything goes, of course. But if you want to stay lawful, any live TV, regardless of channel, requires a licence ...because that's the way the legislation was written.
@@dizwell How would they know? Unless you told them...
Who in their right mind pay this tv tax to help fund all these people who have done disgusting things to children and cover up for them
Because that's not all it funds, rather obviously.
Surely IT’s entrapment if the bbc are embedded into a device and you have no way of deleting it 🤷🏻♂️👍🇬🇬
Maybe leading to a bit of profiteering from the public too 👍🇬🇬
No one is forcing you to watch it. Also, you can legally watch S4C catch-up on the iPlayer without a licence.
You don't have to delete it the onus is on them to prove you use it. Or provide enough evidence to show you have used it.
You need to login with an email address to watch anything on BBC iPlayer and if you login the BBC know.
I bought a fire stick and pay £40 a year to have it unlocked 😂
Why would you pay to have it unlocked when it's easy to do yourself with hundreds on videos showing you how to do it.
@@Holycurative9610 Saves him the bother I guess.
@@Holycurative9610 £40 a year to watch everything including pay per view is a bargain
I received a letter from TV licensing that does say that if you watch or record live TV without a licence on any device.
"This includes all TV channels, pay TV service's like Sky and live TV on streaming service's like Amazon Prime Video. You also need a TV Licence to be covered for everything on BBC iPlayer"
It doesn't say anything about TH-cam. I think it's absolute bullshit how misleading the article's are in local newspapers/media site's.
I also see an article pop on Instagram about a Crapita data breach. And how people's personal data is/has been put at risk.
If you watch live TV on TH-cam, eg, sky news, you do need a licence. It does say that.
Pucker up for an Internet connection license
Say nothing 🤫

I'm on 15yrs now not paid a penny. They've even stopped sending me letters. 🤣

I keep getting red TV licence letters, they go straight in the bin!
I remember BBB did a video when he tried to clarify what a TV channel was but the BBC were unable to do as they weren't able to confirm how many actual TV channel there were. They just told him that as the broadcasting landscape changes frequently they were unable to list every single channel
Hang on in there Jon. Keep the truth coming!
I know you don’t get people into trouble I have fire stick I watch my programs on there who dose the BBC think they are deliberately misleading people like this thanks for sharing chilli great video has usual

ive noticed on bbc radio 2 they have been advertising needing a liscence for your students going to uni. its the way they try making out that you MUST have a licence for everything.
My BBC letters always state that the licence is available from £6.50 a week…. That’s £338 a year?!?!? WTF?
I think if paying weekly you are charged double for the first 6 months because exploiting poor people is fun.
they want there money up front for the following year and earn interest on it. even before the year comes.
It goes on to say:
You'll usually pay for your first licence in 26 payments, one each week. After that you'll switch to fortnightly payments instead.
169.50/6.5 = 26

A while ago I mentioned on your channel, I was listening to a US radio station and an advert came on selling Fire Sticks to enable American viewers to watch British TV and in the adverst is also said the BBC. After I heard this I came on your channel and sarcasticly said something like: Better send some of the goons over and get knocking on doors to see if they had a licence, I know what they will be met with lol.
Also a while ago I mentioned I was on a chat forum and said I don't have a TV licence and one lady said something like, "Well I got one coz they can tell what you are watching," I jumped on her telling her she was wrong vand why, she replied, "Well even if thats true I'll get one anyway to be on the safe side," So this is what articles like what you just read does, it scares ppl and they think, best just get one. Some ppl do as you say they don't read it all or don't research, they go off the headline.
I've told them twice since I moved into my new house we don't watch TV and they've just started sending letters again. I'm going to start sending them back to them and if they don't stop threaten them with legal action for harrasment

We are NOT paying.
Why are you paying?
Great work as always Jon 👍🏻
Quick Question… why does the swivel chair behind you have 3 arms? 😂
Please ask - Do these local newspapers get paid to publish these 'stories'?
I suspect they do.
Vermin.
I'm the same as CJC in thinking they're not actually 'stories' at all, but marketing material from one of the marketing companies the BBC uses, disguised as a newspaper article to trick readers into believing it's an independent piece.
their websites are chock full of advertising so they publish misleading headlines so peole click on the story to get bombarded by said adverts
Very rare to find an independent newspaper nowadays. They're all being bought by up a handful of big companies.
Lazy journalism
