Eric, you're really quite polished in these interviews. The same ease and comfort that we're accustomed to seeing in your video content. The sense here is that you're having the time of your life.
Ha! That's so funny... I came on here to congratulate Eric, but also point out its the VERY first time I've witnessed him being nervous! Granted he dealt with the nerves with grace, but it was unmistakable to hear in his quickened pace, his breathing, etc. Was FUN to watch this difference!
Eric against a GM in an opening she knows but he navigates perfectly- ‘there’s this funny line..’ and the interviewer actually laughs and says ‘that IS funny.’
I love your channel Eric. TY for gifting me the Stafford's gambit. I've won every game that I've been able to use it in. I'm sure this is the wrong platform to ask, but I'm hoping you'll give me your best recommendation on how to become a better player. (besides playing) I'm stuck in the 1100s rating, rapid.
Actual audible "wow" when I saw the reveal at the end. Olga dangling an exchange fork and Eric refusing it, all with the blessing of the 'Fish. Fantastic to see such great chess being played in a tournament like this, well done to both of you :)
This has to be one of the best post-game interviews of any sport i have seen ever. It makes such a difference when the interviewer is of similar skill level to the interviewee as it's really nice as a viewer to see both of you adding things to the discussion, and reminds me of working on homework problems in college groups. Even when compared to esports, where interviewers play the game somewhat competitively, they don't play in proper tournaments like we see here in chess. Bravo to both of you!
Hey, I don't know how much a stranger's opinion matters to you, but I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoy your content. I don't even play chess, but I still watch just because it's so entertaining. Best of luck in the tournament!
What you do for the chess community in general is amazing, and well appreciated. Your love for Chess is obvious in every video and your lack of (too big an) ego is a good example for many out there. Keep it up, please!
So, you're playing a higher rated GM in an important match and you decide to choose a very widely studied and complex opening that you have never played before?! Wow. Good video.
what i love about you eric, is that try to use your "internet fame" to share the limelight with your peers. by that it is a win-win for all parties included and it stresses your humility even more much appreciated!
Seeing you smile just makes me appreciate the love for chess in you Eric and thank you for all the motivation you provide for all of your fans , good luck for the next games
wow eric! the most interesting chess interview i've ever seen, normally chess interviews are quiye boring but this made me actually watch the whole thing
I was fortunate enough to catch the interview part live but since I didn't follow the game on Lichess I was still super surprised and impressed with the special portion of this video. Good job and good luck!
Eric It's gotta feel special to be such a Beloved Ambassador, which You Are Sir. So many thanks are well deserved on countless levels. So Dear Host Demeanor Extraordinaire, a Million Thanks from us, your huge Fan Base for ALL YOUR GENEROSITY. Warm Regards and best your way always! ... Mike.
I was watching every round on lichess + all recaps ofcourse and I must say that guy know what he is doing. Nice performance Eric. Wish you all the best in next rounds.
So incredibly impressed on the near perfect game with a gm no less. Very much appreciate you sharing your journey with me, I have always wanted to see you succeed and like you said: I hope this is a good sign of things to come. Keep being awesome!
Long time viewer Eric, you were my inspiration to get better at chess, always fun to watch you play. You’re playing amazing from an underdog position, keep it up!
What a clean game by both parts, Eric! This is super high quality content and I am very pleased to watch every single video of the Battle of Sexes that you upload every day.
Wow! So I saw another "first" for you, I think..... during the interview, I could FEEL your stress! LOLL!! I don't think I have EVER ever seen you exhibit stress during a vid. And so, today was the first time. With that said, it was a good interview and an interesting analysis , so thanks for sharing it :). ...as well as your solo analysis at the end. Appreciate ya man.
Didn't know that you and Irene were teammates at Webster University . I knew you were friends but not college mates . Hope your upcoming fight in the last round be a spectacular slugfest . Happy for this perfect game against Olga . I am sure Gothamchess is going to make a half hour video on your final game alone . 😁 . Best of luck for the upcoming games Eric .
The dream scenario is that during the final round, the team score is all tied up and Eric and Irene are the last people playing! Would be hype af. Unlikely though.
The interviewer here is so much better than those at tata steel and even the wcc. Pretty ironic considering those events are much higher profile than this
30 move draw playing the Italian? Eric's ready to become a super GM
1- Play the italian to preserve pieces
2- at some point play d4 as white or d5 as black
3- Trades everything anyway
4- Draw
@@MatsMatsuo Really good strategy.... when you are 1900 on lichess.
You forgot the most important point. 0- Your opponent is a grandmaster

fully aggree. hes the master of symphathy to me.
I made it this far!
It's a shame the interviewer did not spot that and publish it..
Nobody could’ve said it better!
Ha! That's so funny... I came on here to congratulate Eric, but also point out its the VERY first time I've witnessed him being nervous! Granted he dealt with the nerves with grace, but it was unmistakable to hear in his quickened pace, his breathing, etc. Was FUN to watch this difference!
His commentary is really easy to understand, he should be an official commentator for some of these tourneys
Eric against a GM in an opening she knows but he navigates perfectly- ‘there’s this funny line..’ and the interviewer actually laughs and says ‘that IS funny.’
is there an Eric Rosen T-shirt with that...!?? You'd have buyers for sure.
I was going to point out "the funny line" and how she repeated it almost confused.
Best recaps on TH-cam
And yours too, Levy. You and Eric are the best, really enjoy the youtube content.

Eric is just what humanity should be. Super kind and easy going. Always happy with a joke to come. Doing what he loves and enjoying it. Just awesome.

Eric Rosen 😁
Eric Hansen 🤬😈🤬
@@mashrafi157 No, this can't be acted. Sure we should keep it generally in our mind, because we don't really know anyone trough TH-cam.
"In a classic game? Because online it happens pretty often." Eric straight-gangsta Rosen

8 centipawn loss! That's actually insane, I'm so glad you are playing classical again, it is very interesting to watch
I will probably be 8 centipawn loss before my second move.

any day is the perfect day to start (playing).
This is top chess content Eric, there's a huge crowd of daily supporters chatting away when you are playing. You have huge well deserved support:)
Yup I was there, basically the whole chat was talking about Eric's game.
Oh my bad, Kevin Rosas.

2 games before he decided to walk into caro-kann against a player who wrote a book on caro-kann defense..
Still better than Duda playing a line from the world championship against Nepo
@@igornoga5362 I remember that game it was absolutely brutal lmao
That "GM" is 100 points short of being a legit lowest possible GM. Levy is stronger than her, as an example ;)

Eric is such a class act. Calm, informative, and entertaining
amazing game, and we love seeing you thrive in these interviews, such a likeable person x

Feel like Eric would be a great poker player. He’s so even keeled. I can never tell whether he won, lost or drew until the very end.
I can see him holding four aces. "Ooo, connect four!"
He tried poker I think (there are videos on this channels) and he is pretty bad if I remember correctly.
Love your recaps Eric! Good luck in the rest of your rounds
I like how much Irina enjoyed interviewing Eric, this was very nice.
Love these recaps. Great games so far! I watched the tournament livestream for about 3 hours yesterday, the commentators are great
This is my favourite content. Love the serious over the board content. Keep it up.
Thanks for posting! I look forward to seeing new videos. I hope the rest of your games are as accurate!
Over the board chess feels so grown up, fulfilling, and real now. Exciting!
I was yelling when I thought Eric missed that Queen/Rook fork. He missed no such thing. He recognized "oh no my rook" bait.
8 to 7 centipawn loss, very well played by both of you! Looking forward to watch the other games too :D
Great job Eric. I've really enjoyed following this event. I love this format and the games have been fun to watch and review.

Excellent game, Eric! I am enjoying the tournament and especially your post-game analysis. Thank you and…play well!
Thank you Eric for these recaps! Good luck with the rest of the tourney!
The position around 11:20 reminds me of your recent blitz win against Hikaru, only here there is a perpetual. Great video!
A fresh new video from the best Chess content creator on the planet! Love you Eric :D
