These recap videos are top class. Usually, master-level games go too far over my head, but Eric presents them in a nicely balanced way. Everything is explained without being over-explained.
and honestly I haven't seen any chess streamer or youtube who goes deep enough but not too deep. like Hikaru, if he wants to say a move is great he literally hangs everything and does the dumbest move that no one but below 1000 would make to prove his points but here eric presents it in a great manner.
Eric, im not gonna lie. I felt SO good watching this recap... one of the cleanest games. Im proud and satisfied as if i won one of my own games. Keep it up king!
16:57 “Sometimes this is a problem, when I spot an interesting line, I’ll just go super deep into that one line” I clearly DO NOT have this problem. I calc about 2, max 3 moves and then figure out. Geez nothing really looks too promising here!!!
@@saeedhamdhan791 not necessarily. Oh no my queen means you sacked your queen on purpose. If you then go on to win or lose doesn’t matter She sacked her queen on purpose and didn’t go into the line Eric showed us. For what reason we don’t know, she concluded that was her best bet
Congrats on the win!! Just wanted to say how cool it is how much humility you approach these analyses with. It seems like it'd be difficult to be so open about your losses and weaknesses with such a large audience and I really love how you look at everything through the lens of constant improvement without ego getting in the way of that goal. Excellent analysis as always
Congratulations!! Winning against a Grandmaster with the black peices is an incredible feat. I LOVE your style of play. Thank you for bringing such beautiful chess upon the world.
You know I don’t watch Eric that much but I always have those nights where I’m just chilling and relaxing and watching a Eric video is reallly nice! Your such a cool guy Eric keep doing what you do!!
What I love so much about Eric is how much he loves the game and is having fun. You can see it in his eyes and his calm smile. He explains things really well, but it's his love of the game which keeps me coming back. So great to see him win against a Grandmaster.
Fantastic analysis Eric! This is why I love watching recaps on your own games like with Levi. You know exactly the thought process behind every move, and you just can't get that analyzing other peoples' games.
These videos of your tournament games have been awesome! Please play more tournaments and analyze your games. It’s great to hear an IM talk about his own games, and the prospect of you maybe becoming a GM in the future makes me root even more for you! Keep them coming!
After this video saw the interview on Gibchess . Happy to see you talking about shaking off rustiness and your confidence issues and your warm up for the remaining matches . Was funny how you described your experiences in Gibraltar ("hike up some rocks , saw some monkeys and went to a wildlife preserve ... 😁) . Hope you continue in the same vein till you get your GM norm .
Great content. Well balanced in depth and width, keeping the red thread of the story intact. The respect for the audience is also very much appreciated. I am not a chess master in any meaning, just avarege, but appreciate the lack of two hundred different lines and questions to the audience every second meaning. Also valuable to share your thoughts and feelings. Great job Eric and best of luck tomorrow!
I enjoy your commentary of your tourney's games...congrats on the win. Playing otb is a different animal than what you usually do on twitch, youtube, etc.

Congrats on the win, Eric. These videos are a blast.
Dude… I love your content across the board (heh) but have to say there is something about these recaps that has taken your videos to the next level. They are REALLY great to watch!
I know thats maybe not something content creators want to hear but i love to put on some of ur videos to fall asleep you have such a great voice to relax to. Like now i watched the whole thing and will put it on repeat and try to take a nap. Thanks for the content and for your chill style
I just discovered your channel, Eric, and it's brilliant! I recently started playing chess again after a couple of years away from the game. And your videos are very helpful. I learn a lot and that's super motivating. Thank you so much!
Thank you Eric, I could see you have put alot of effort in to upload the content after you were pushed to the limit in the 2nd game and were exhausted. Congrats on your 1st win!
I feel like you explained this so well. I’m a 500 rated player so a lot of things go over my head but you explained the possibilities of the lines in a concise way. Thank you for the great content!
Congratulations Eric! Very solid game while still brilliant! I got the sense that they felt they could steamroll you, but you crushed it! Favorite game so far. You did it, Goku!
Congratulations on the success. It was funny watching this yesterday, when commentator Irina Bulmaga suddenly spoke (it was in the middle game): "Oh, I once had exactly the same position with Black and there was no escape, Black loses". How nice that you taught them otherwise. Otherwise, Bulmaga complained to me too often about the fact that the women fell behind so much yesterday.
gratz with the win Eric!!! was so upset, hearing you flagging or stalemating with thoughts “daym, when he will win…?” and now you’ve won!!! wish you more victories in this tourney!!
...or maybe prepare, or... Brilliant win against such a challenging opponent. I like your strategy of clearing your mind instead of trying to study every combination and permutation of someone so diverse in her opening repertoire. Good luck with your next game!
