I daily my 4C. Next week will mark four years of ownership. I've put on 32,000 miles in those four years. I've tracked her, flogged her in the canyons, and driven her to the grocery store. My wife and I drove her to Seattle and back, (Los Angeles is home) 4,000 miles in three weeks. Took the back roads north through the mountains and the coast route home. Perfect car on perfect roads. Is she a car for everyone? NO! She is the perfect car for me though. What she really is, is a street legal race car. Race cars don't have frills, or extras, it's all dead weight on race day. She's a driver's car, not a passanger's car. Oh she drives, and begs to be driven harder and longer. Yes, she drives like she looks.

@@Deglychi "big yikes"? How so? We don't need to have the same desires or likes. My 4C works well for me as a daily driver. I realize that this can't and won't be the case for most. My point is though, that it's not impossible to daily a 4C and enjoy it. She's a street legal race car, and I enjoy every grocery run, especially when the store is at the end of long winding canyon road.

@Matthew Anthony The frontend is way too derpy looking. Just look at 0:29. The headlights look like they're staring cross-eyed at it's bulbous schnoz that could be mistaken for Barbra Streisand's. If you listen closely, you can even hear a faint 'duuurr' when parked.

@@janelzinga1964 Wow, I looked it up and you’re right, 157 inches for the 4C compared to 154.1 for the MX-5. The 4C is also wider. I guess the Miata’s greater interior space makes it feel larger.

Owned an Alfa ( not the 4c).
Something that makes them fantastic to drive and contrary to rumours I found it reliable.

@@TheV8Pumpkin get yourself a Miata then. LoL The Alfa Romeo 4C is hand built at the Maserati factory in Modena. The carbon fiber tub is supercar technology. Between this and my McLaren 720s the similarity in pure rawness is extreme.

Vince Carter When you have enough money you don’t have to drive anything. You can drive something with a bit of comfort, weather proof, room for stuff, and of course, performance. You’d better have a spare car too if you drive an Alpha because it will breakdown often. A Lotus Elise is better and cheaper.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Alfa reliablity in this day and age, meaning they're not absolutely bomb-proof but not worse than pretty much any other non-Asian brand. In fact, I'd say Alfa and Fiat are currently doing a better job than Volkswagen (and subsequently Audi).

I own a Corvette but love this little car...I mixed it up with one a couple of weeks ago and was shocked at how fast it was. And it looks even better in real life than on TH-cam. I've owned Italian motorcycles and get it - Just a beauty.

I own a 4C and everything is exaggerated in this video. Rear visibility is bad but not useless - and the mirrors along with parking sensors make parking simple. I even have a coupe, which has worse visibility than the spider. A friend who is 6'2" can fit and drive it comfortably. There isn't much seat padding, but the seats are surprisingly comfortable. I drove it 522 miles over 8.5 hours home the day I bought it from Cincinnati to DC and had zero comfort issues - no aches or pains. You don't need to recline it any more than it allows, so that's not a con either. Also, the cupholders are perfectly functional. I had a can of starbucks espresso crap and a big bottle of water in the two holders during my drive. The lack of power steering is a non-issue provided you let the car crawl before you try turning the wheel. It really isn't heavy at all when the car is moving slightly. This car in the video has the updated headunit, but even the 2015 model Parrot unit isn't bad and hasn't bugged out on me yet.
If I didn't take the metro to work (parking near the office is $280/month) I could absolutely daily drive the 4C.

I drove one exactly like this to an Alfa dealership from auction. Launch Edition, bright red, same wheels. Absolutely loved it. Forget about seeing anything behind you. Had plenty of people coming up and asking me about the car at the gas station. Definitely the funnest car I've driven in my 19 years

Drove a 4c after driving a Giulia qf at the Stelvio launch and i was still blown away with its perfect handling. Missed the chance by 10 years of calling it the perfect car as my knees are shot and was a pain to get in and out of.
It's a good thing he didn't got that Aston while parallel parking, who knows if that thing has a warranty.

I m really amazed with the fact that Alfa didn’t put the power steering in order to cut the weight.
Northside Imports Houston had a big line of these on their lot, every time I’d pass by on the service road I was always mesmerized by the beauty of these little cars.

A Black/Black 4C Spyder came into our dealership today (I work at New Orleans Maserati as an Auto Tech) after doing an alignment I took it for a quick test drive, man are these cars awesome! I didn't really get on it or nothing like that so I can't tell you just how fast it is but fuck is the drive quality superb. It is hands down the best handling and most responsive sports car I've ever driven. The only thing I could see most people having a gripe with is that it is not very practical, and it can fairly difficult to get in and out of assuming you're a big and tall person. Other than that though the 4c is almost perfect! 👌🏻
I've been working on getting this Giulia using my employee incentive discount (35% off Total MSRP) its a burgundy/black '17 Alfa Giulia Qr we have in our pre owned inventory. They're only asking $32.5K for it but it also has around 38k-40k miles. I took it on 3 test drives so far and fell in love the moment I grabbed the steering wheel and heard the rumble of that Twin Turbo V6. It might not be a 4C but holy shit is it fast for a high end sedan. After 2 years of turning wrenches day in day out, saving and spending and saving and spending I will have my down payment for it by Mid June.

Vic F thanks brother, I really appreciate your words of kindness. Have you ever taken an Alfa for a drive before? If not I highly recommend it, I guarantee you'll fall in love regardless of what model/Trim package it is. And if Alfa Romeo is not your brand then I highly recommend checking out the Lotus Elise. I had one come through my shop last Tuesday for a belt service. I took it for a little drive to make sure everything was up to par and I can honestly say that Lotus was very impressive compared to the 4c.

However when I see them on the road they’re just amazing looking. I am currently hoping to buy a corvette. Either a c6 grandsport or a c7 stingrayI find them gorgeous, I just wanna focus on finishing school then maybe I can start saving :) if I ever get the chance I won’t hesitate to drive an Alfa tho!

Coming from a 4c owner you get used to it but I always avoid it, there's no power steering so it's annoying

i feel like you could solve most of these issues with a cargo net in the passenger footwell, a reversing camera mounted on the license plate frame, and one of those rear view mirrors that has the reverse camera screen built into it.
My 2015 mazda3 isport sedan doesn't have a trunk button, instead the button is located in the drivers area...

I was invited to drive one by my local dealership...the sound is incredible. The sense of speed is really great. But that's all I liked about this car. I hated the handling so much that even if I could afford this car, I wouldn't even consider it.

There are actually serviceable parts inside. Tools are required to remove the panel, because Alfa was too cheap to include an actual storage bucket and an opening mechanism.

(i see enraged german comments coming) we don't make a statement saying alfas are perfect, we are pretty onest and straight forward i think (and i'm taking the burden to speek for all italians) we know perfectly the little flaws of our cars and we won't deny them ;we are ok with them as long as the car is gonna give you something special in exchange. i don't pretend you to fall in love with alfa and alfa does not pretend it either, it's gonna be YOUR choice but this is the most important thing :it's your choice because you are the driver and you have to experience something special..
didn't want to sound like a false prophet or some kind of poet but those words came onestly from the idea i always had of alfa in particular and is something somewhat complicated but deeply stuck in my soul and i the soul of many italians in my opinion.
but then in all honesty i laughed a lot and loved all the times Clarkson made some kind of jokes on the reliability and so on , so don't worry we are not unpleasant and we don't have a guilty conscience :)

as the previous owner of older two seats true sports cars with non power steering the secret is to barely moves at one mile per hour and turn the non power assisted steering wheel. that is how you get by not having power steering creeping along at 1 mile an hour or less enables you to turn the wheels very very easily when it's non power assisted.

If this had a manual gearbox I'd be all over it.
If it had a properly set up chassis, a good gearbox (auto or manual) and the small capacity n/a 4 or 6 cylinder it should have had then they wouldn't be able to build enough.
As it stands it's a crap handling, crap engined and crap gearboxed heap of shit and I wouldn't go near it. It's a complete shame Maserati or Ferrari didn't take the little platform they'd spent all that money on, and made it a proper sports car. Oh well.

I've parallel parked a chev express van with no rear windows...why do you need to see out the back to parallel park?
iTheGeek Ok so this thing doesn't have power steering but it's also 1/4 the size of an express (which I've parked in smaller spaces than he attempted). Other than that the difference in price is the only thing that comes to mind. Either way if you hit another vehicle while parallel parking damage will be done so not really sure what you're trying to say.
