Can someone remove front catalytic converter next to flag, and weld flag on second catalytic and re use old pipe, then buying new parts?

Say try using some wire (baling wire) to compress the spring. Then cut it off.

I just put this same catalytic converter on my car. How is it holding up? Did welding the middle section fix the leak? Thanks

@@Tech-28 ok, good. I am going to try and weld the middle section. I didn't apply any silicone/copper gasket stuff to the gaskets that came with the kit. Might change the 02 sensors if the welding doesn't fix problem. Any thoughts?

What a great video. Will that whole catalytic converter system you got fit ok on a 2007 Toyota Matrix? Is it the same size and design for both cars?

Check out L35 in Colorado. She did a vid on 2004-2008 Corolla/vibe/matrix flange repair and resonator replacement. Good vid for that. Also gives options at end of vid for quick repair of rotted out flanges.

Check exhaust manifold for leaks/crack also. It's common in Corollas/matrix/vibes and can cause that code.

Don’t know if I’d be happier dealing with the aftermarket part over the oem part….I’d end up cursing at the aftermarket part for not properly aligning with other parts, but holy f**k Toyota wants too much for the their oem part 🤯Awesome video
By the way it looks like you forgot the insulation plates that go above the pipe.

@@stephencook7337 thanks, I hope you enjoyed the video. The heat shields rotted off and we’re gone. Yeah the OEM pipe is of much much higher quality tho, better stainless steel and obviously the fitment is going to be perfect but for the cost of this one how can I complain lol

No, these videos don't grow fast. They gain traction over time. No one cares about how to change a Cat on a Toyota till their car breaks and they have to do it.
