Thank you! I like to think of Weiss as a hidden gem in the card game world :) But there are definitely upsides to a smaller community versus a larger one. That said, I'd still love to see it grow!

I really like the tutorial! Thank you for making the video. And to be honest this game costs much cheaper than YuGiOh and Magic, and that's the reason I come here to learn this game.
0/10 too distracted by cat Real talk, even tho this is an old video I must thank you for this. Weiss seems confusing with all the mechanics and this helped clear it u0
Super helpful video! I'm going to my first Bushiroad event this weekend, and I figured I'd find out how to play some of their other games aside from Vanguard.
Discovered 1 min ago on Card market, not gonna play it cuz I'm already busy with other games, but I'm gonna buy 1 box, and every single, of Overlord, my favourite anime, thanks Weiß Schwarz for this boost to my collection
been curious about this game for awhile, first heard about it when Vanguard came out and people were calling it "Weiss Schwarz light" that's kinda true, but one of the most important parts of that game is the guarding from hand, which is nowhere to be seen in this, the fact that you do damage even if you lose the following battle is very surprising to me, I guess it makes the large life total flow smoother, and yeah for almost the entire thing after you explained clocking and leveling up I thought there had to be some special deck out rule, you waited till the very end to say it so I almost thought for a bit that the game just became that fast paced in the middle-end game that you commonly ended the game with like 2 cards left in deck or something lol, anyways good tutorial, I definitely want to try this out at some point, sounds fun
Hi! New to this, so does that mean you can play against someone who’s using a different anime? For example hololive vs Mushoku Tensei? Is that tournament regulated as well?
I feel so dumb lol. So like, because I live in Japan I've only ever seen the Japanese version of the cards and my dumb butt thought they didn't have English ones so I'm like, huh weird but maybe its not popular outside Japan? I finally do some digging because even just collecting these is my aesthetic tbh and whoop-de-doo turns out there's English ones. Of COURSE there's English ones why wouldn't there be xD Just, yeah, I feel stupid. Great vid tho, thanks!
nah there are many games that dont get a translation that isnt really being dumb and bushiroad is realy bad at marketing outside of japan i only knew 2 shops that sold vanguard cards and only one that sells some weiss schwarz packs

what happens when you do over damage, like if they have 5 on the clock and you do 4? Do they just pick 2 from the hand and the rest goes to the waiting room and then they level up?
25:20 Wait, I thought Front Attacks only damaged the character they’re fighting. How did you deal damage to your opponent and fight the character at the same time?
If you defeat the character, you get to damage your opponent as well. Re-watch the explanation of the attack phase/trigger phase if you didn't catch it the first time.
Characters don't have health bars. All attacks do damage to the opponent as long as you have enough soul (side attacks might not do damage). Even if you are attacking a character with higher power, you will still do damage. Having higher power just determines who survives the fight.

This video was really helpful but I had some questions. Is there a set rotation for this game? Is there a ban list? Can I use Japanese cards if I’m playing the EN version?
No set rotation and there is a banlist/restriction list. As for Japanese and English cards mixing, depends, if you're playing at official tournaments then no, and for locals are dictated by the shop itself. Both JP and EN have different banlist/restrictions.
I am new to this game just wanna ask does continuous ability last both your turn and opponent turn if not specified? E.g Your characters in front of this card gain X power.
Right?! If the game was more popular there would be more product, which would mean that the product would be easier to find, and therefore less expensive. Cardfight Vanguard was the same way for the first few years when it released. It's been 11 years since the first product for Weiss Schwarz released, so I don't think this game will ever be popular enough sadly.
The problem is this card is also collectible for people that doesn't play the game. Many people collect the signed cards just for display and doesn't play the game.
@@akaniichan Yeah I can see the appeal for collectors since there's a ton of anime being represented in this game. Ultimately the main reason It's expensive is that It's not popular enough. There's a lot less product being producted because of that, so the products run out faster, making them harder to find, and that causes an increase in price for the product.
A 20 dollar intro price is pretty cheap considering. As for singles. I haven't seen much of an issue for those. It isn't like the specials are costing 200-300 bucks each.
I just found out this game exists today. Apparently, there's only 6 stores in my country that sell it. No wonder I never saw it before. And there's hardly anything in stock. EDIT: After googling, turns out only 2 of the 6 stores listed on the official site still sell it.
What country are you in? Anyways, yea, this is going to be one of those games where you'll need to take the bull by the horns and create your own local scene. As far as stores selling it, that's not a problem as you can order online, although depending where you live the shipping and sales tax might be brutal.
There's certainly nothing stopping you from physically putting the card in the deck. But I'll be up front and tell you that the sets aren't designed to play together. They're not balanced to play with each other, and many of the cards just don't work with other cards outside their series. Even for casual tabletop play, yes, you could have your friends build mixed decks and probably have fun, but it wouldn't really be 'Weiss' at that point since the rules would kind of break down. I'd recommend part 4 of this playlist for more info! It has some FAQs about what's legal/recommended to build a deck!

This a very very minor detail for such a professionally made and cat-tastic tutorial.
so imma guess that there's already card effects that can force a player to go up a level, please tell me if this is true and what the wording is and what cards these effects are on?
Yes it does exist as a costs for the player playing the effect. But, AFAIK there are no cards that can force level your opponent.
