    I have only just started looking into this game. Your video was the clearest explanation I found, and I've now purchased my first deck. Thanks for taking the time to produce quality, concise, and understandable content. Keep up the good work!

    Purchased 4 theme decks and 2 booster boxes a year and a half ago and have been sitting on them ever since. I couldn’t figure out for the life of me how to play. The official game channel explanation made zero sense to me and every other video seems to be an explanation of the heroes specifically, versus how to play. This is the BEST explanation I’ve ever seen, and you’ll be the reason that I actually start playing this game, so thank you!

    Hey, great video! Just wanted to point out one thing. Go Again does not give you an action point. The mechanic actually refreshes your action point back to 1. This means that having multiple instances of Go Again on a single action(eg. something like 2 driving blade on a single attack) does not grant you multiple action points.

    • @DMArmada
      @DMArmada  5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Great point, and something I should have been more clear on! Thanks!

    • @dramajoe
      @dramajoe 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      This is copy-pasted directly from the bottom of the left column of page 10 in the rulebook:
      'Go again means “When this action resolves, gain 1 action
      point.” Multiple instances of go again on the same card or activated ability don’t stack. If a card or activated ability has gained multiple instances of go again, when that action resolves, the player will gain 1 action point only.'

    • @ReMeDy_TV
      @ReMeDy_TV 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dramajoe What Waffer says makes sense and simplifies the ruling, so imo the rule book should have an errata to Waffer's interpretation, lol. As a newbie who's used to stacking extra turns on Magic (MtG), it makes a lot more sense if the action point is just refreshed.

    • @dramajoe
      @dramajoe 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@ReMeDy_TV I disagree, I think his explanation obfuscates something that's honestly not that difficult to understand.
      What happens if you generate extra action points and then play a card with Go Again? His explanation makes it sound like you'd reset back to one and lose any extra points you previously created, which isn't the case.
      The only part of all of it that is kind of annoying is remembering that multiple instances of Go Again on the same card don't stack, but that isn't too bad.
      Magic has an analogue to this that makes it pretty easy to understand, actually. Think of your action point as your land drop for the turn. Does Explore reset your ability to play a land for the turn? No, it gives you an extra opportunity. "Resetting" the land drop would be very confusing if you had an Oracle of Mul Daya in play, for instance.

  • @Patrick-Phelan
    @Patrick-Phelan 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This is, indeed, super helpful! ...so it feels really churlish to pick out one individual thing, but...
    At 11:27, you say "Playing another attack uses up another action point and opens up another combat chain", which is only almost right - it opens another link in the same chain. Which is MOSTLY pointless pedantry, and is almost always meaningless, but sometimes it's important. Rising Knee Thrust, for example, triggers its combo based on "If Leg Tap was the last attack this combat chain" which doesn't work if it's a new combat chain!
    What does break the chain and start a new one - and do correct me if I'm wrong, everyone, because this is something I don't QUITE remember - is playing an action that ISN'T an attack. So if you played Leg Tap, and then decided to supercharge your Rising Knee Thrust by playing red Nimblism ("the next attack action card with cost 1 or less you play this turn gains +3 attack; go again"), you've broken the combat chain and started a new one with Rising Knee Thrust, so it doesn't get the combo bonus from Leg Tap.

    This..is..excellent!! Not only is this well-made and easy to understand (even more than your how to play DM video) but it’s great for people who are looking for more FaB content!
    Also, on a personal note, even as someone who has read the whole manual through and through, this video really helps clarify a couple things on how to play the game, which I super appreciate. I hope you've received an answer by now, but if you haven't: Blitz is, indeed, a separate format. It's designed to be faster and played with strangers, and - since there were no starter decks in the original printing - a way to pick up the game with little investment. So most of the time, if you're playing at game shops, you'll be playing Blitz. Classic Constructed tends to be more an "among friends at game night" thing.

    It looks fun but I'm worried it's overly complicated and that's going to turn most people away from it. Plus the issue with Hero eccentric card games is that your Hero IS going to be outclassed by another Hero that fills the exact same role or a similar archetype eventually. So, it's hard to get invested in a particular Hero. Plus the total lack of advertising already has this game dead in the water for the majority of card game players. This should have been out years ago so it actually had a chance in the current market climate.

(not saying MTG is too complex but to the average non-tabletop gaming normie it's like taking an advanced biology class) I certainly want to try the game out but it's going to be a hard sell to most casual card game players and that's gonna hurt the game in the end. @@RyansReflections7274 right, if you haven't played something to gain another action point, or if the action card you play does not have go again, then that's it for your turn. If you attack, the opposing player moves to the defend step where they defend with cards from hand, then you move to the reaction step where you play attack reactions and they play defense reactions.

    Look easy enough, fun and great art.. let me check the prices of booster packs , singles and starter decks. It’s a newer game and I assume it’ll be easy and cheap to jump into ... *checks tcg player*
    $100 starter decks ?! $25 booster packs !? $100+ for some singles. Yea this is a hard pass. Otherwise the game looks good

      Are you referring to 1st edition product or Unlimited? If you're looking for playable sets, buy Unlimited. $90 booster boxes and $10-15 starter decks!

    this guy on the left that shuffles it's hand all day long is really sabotaging this guide, also these type of players should really be avoided since they lack any type of pokerface, they are so annoying in tournaments
    aside from this, this guide is solid for understanding the basics I suppose, just wanted to get an overview of the game

    Good video, but the gameplay is quite lacking. Pretty shallow mechanics and gameplay interactions compared to MTG, YuGiOh, and Pokemon.

      @cyrilpit3505 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You really compare a new game with some tcg older than 20 years old.... Hopefully there is more content in mtg Pokémon and yugiho now than FAB... Just remember alpha set from mtg, and we speak about content then

    • @Tamarocker88
      @Tamarocker88 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@cyrilpit3505 Of course I am comparing them. Flesh and Blood is trying to compete in the same market as the other games. Even compared with Alpha era MTG or Base/Fossil/Jungle pokemon,Flesh and Blood's mechanics are shallow and boring. I didn't compare the amount of content. I'm saying at each game's core, the mechanics and gameplay are apples and oranges. Flesh and Blood at its core is behind the curve.

      @@cyrilpit3505 I've tried FaB. Just as I said, its mechanics were lacking and shallow compared to MTG. MTG is far more interesting to me as a result of the complex and varied card interactions. Suffice to say the only thing I'm missing out on is a boring experience I have no interest in repeating. Nice try tho.

    • @rynoburrow
      @rynoburrow 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Tamarocker88 Your argument makes no sense. TCG's build in layers, like the earlier guy said MTG (which I love by the way) started as basic as FaB. Look at the new Monarch set and they have added new game mechanics to make it more complex, blood debt, soul charging etc. They have also added allies which you get through completing quests like in MTG. It's not there yet but I say give FaB a few years and it will be flying. I'm really enjoying it.
