STANNIS BARRATHEON (First of His Name), sacrificing his own daughter to the Lord of Light ... ... is probably the Worst Betrayal in GOT. ... next to Danny using her tears to kill Drogo.
The red wedding is still one of the most shocking betrayals in tv history
But rob betrayed them first
You saw it coming. ... you knew Walder wasn't going to let it go.
... ... it's like Theon's evolution into Reek, you almost want to cheer for it.
Word..
the most shocking one
I was shocked for real
the most shocking betrayal was the writers in season 7 and 8
I was hoping this would be a comment. There really should of been criminal arrests over that.
So true!
Oh please. Give me a break. 🤦🏻♀️
The screenplay is bad and full of plotholes .
Damn straight!
Littlefinger betraying anyone shouldn't surprise anyone
He is the most dangerous type of man. He's willing to watch the world burn, so long as he can be "Lord of the Ashes"
Him betraying Sansa like that is surprising because of how stupid of a move it was to come from littlefinger
@@lawrence3861 The smartest character, who is responsible for most events, left Kings Landing never to be seen again. The Baelish from S5 and onwards is an imposter...butchered by the stupid writers.
I know, what a bastard
“The writers are tired. See them to their chambers.”
- Tywin Lannister’s thoughts on season 8
Hahaha
"We're....not....TIRED!!!"
🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@crimsonclover9871 darn you beat me to it
@@CrazyGamerDragon64 😁😁
@The FØX thanks 😊
Ned Stark going to Cersei and giving her fair warning was stupid.
Yeah; there's such a thing as being too honest.
Yep
Ned had honor, but didn’t understand how to play the Game of Thrones… I think he saw good in some people who didn’t deserve it
Ellaria betraying and murdering Doran Martell and his son should have been on the list
What when did this happen?!
@@wh3elson Season 6, episode 1!
It didn' make the list because that was just bad writing lol
It was expected tho. Nothing surprising no shock value.
"If I had stabbed him in the belly, instead of the back ... would you respect me more?"
I love Jamie, he is my second favorite Lanister!
Jamie should have said as much to Dany when he meets her and she is angry at his assassinating her father the Mad King.
@baryondomingo9107 Do You Really Hate JAMIE For That Relationship Though? .. .. .. Cersi "twisted" Jamie into that position...
I loved Jamie’s character right up to the bitter end. I would have given anything for Brieanna to have throat punched him instead of ugly crying. Her desperation, sobbing and begging her first true love to stay, as they say, “The first cut is the deepest.” That took me back to being 17 and having the man who took my virginity cut me loose. My heart broke for her. I still want to believe he knew Kings Landing was coming to a fiery end and that he was trying to spare her by putting as much distance between her and Cersei as possible. He had to hurt her to her very core to keep her from trying to follow him to the end he knew was waiting for him.
I still find Shireen Baratheon's wailing scarier than most horror movies.
You forgot Sansa'a betrayal of Jon. She reveale the secret about his identity despite making an oath not to reveal it, and she started the conspiracy because she wanted to take Jon's place as King in the North.
It wasn’t to take Jon’s place, it was because she didn’t want the Dragon Queen to rule, especially because she wouldn’t give the North their independence. She knew Jon would make a better king.
Absolutely
Ned stark died for the secret that Sansa disclosed to Tyrion of all people in a matter of minutes. 😂
@@flameisbrighter20no I disagree c did wntd north to b independent but c also wnt to b d queen...look at her face whn Jon was announced king of the north
That was in no way shocking. Sansa was NEVER going to keep that secret.
Top 3 (In my opinion):
1. The Red Wedding
2. Stannis Burns Shireen
3. Littlefinger Sets Ned up
This was extremely tough, if it was top 5, it would easily be the same five as you guys had. I agree that the red wedding was the biggest betrayal because it slayed a lot of characters, including family members, which it led the Starks being the family target to wipe out and it had almost all the communities to turn on them. The other four were so difficult, but in the end, I felt Shireen's sacrifice and Littlefinger's betrayal were given the spot because it was more unexpecting than the other two. Not to mention how cruel the sacrifice was to claim their throne. This proves this show doesn't mess around.
The entire point is that the red wedding happened because Robb stark was promised to marry someone. He backed out of it so it should not be suprising that he retaliated.
Littlefinger is a horrible conniving person to begin with who believes he was in love with Catelyn Stark so him getting betrayed is again not suprising at all.
Just my opinion 🤷 I feel those were two of the most betrayals and ones most people saw coming
Tyrions Pain when he finds Shae man first love always is a kick in the butt
I've seen a lot of Disney movies and even as a kid, I just about never cried during the saddest Disney moments. The Red Wedding actually made me shed a tear.
Stannis burning sheen is the most heart breaking scene in a TV series.
That was unforgivable evil.
And then she felt guilt after burning her alive, WOW
She was such a pure soul too and the reason he did it didn't even work in the end. So, it was for nothing. This was far worse than the red wedding because the one person that is supposed to protect her is the one that betrayed her.
Theon got betrayed by his men is still funniest scene in the series for me. Number #1 and number #3 were my favorites, they were shocking scenes. Writing was so good in season 1-4, season 5 is starting of downfall.
Theon went all out on that battle speech made it funny
21:47 Red Wedding will always be Number 1 on the list.
Omg u ruin it
Great list. I totally forgot about Varys being roasted. Dany’s command was subdued. John Snow Vs Ygrette was so heartbreaking- you know nothing John Snow. I actually enjoyed that snake Littlefinger and the moon door. Tyrion Vs Shae who he loved was tragic, The Saddest scene was sweet Shireen pleading for her life as she’s burning at the stake.
Just finished this series and it was great and heartbreaking. Stannis burning his own daughter for power is the worst. My bias is that I am a father. You never sacrifice your children.
I totally agree!
I may not be a mother but I agree with you
100%, but to make it even worse, it didn't work!!!!!
In spite of his "treachery", Lord Varys deserved way better!
Yea, no way he goes out like that in the books. Major Character assassination
I never understood, nor liked, the bull ish with Arya and the Faceless men. Before Arya and Jaqn H'gar part ways in Westeros, Jaqn told Arya to go with him so she can offer the names on her list to the many faced God. But when she kills 1 of the people on her list they punish her. They make them out like they are some mysterious group, when they are just hitmen like many others. They kill for Gold period
Shae's betrayal was the top one.
But Stannis burning his own daughter is not betrayal. Its an atrocity beyond parallel.
Lord Edmure Tully's betrayal of his people and Uncle (The Blackfish) when he opened the gate.
I'm surprised it wasn't just 23 minutes of Littlefinger
No betrayal is worse than season 8
I don’t get why Jamie isn’t considered a hero for killing the mad king. Ending the life of a cruel tyrant should be considered a heroic act. Why is he seen as a lesser man for killing the mad king?
I thought so as much, until I realized that maybe not many people knew about the Mad King's plan of blowing up the city with wildfire and killing thousands of innocents. Jaime tells Brienne in that bathhouse scene that as soon as Ned Stark saw the Mad King dead with Jaime's sword in his back, he believed Jaime to be a traitor, not knowing about the king's crazy plans.
He told nobody that Aerys ordered him to 'burn them all'
No i think it’s because the people of Westeros take their Oaths seriously, for good or bad you can’t break an oath. A person who brakes his oath is seen as untrustworthy, because if he breaks an oath once what is stopping him from doing it again and again.
@@WhatIFNaruto123exactly! Can't trust a traitor again for whatever reason but for some reason everyone trusts Tyrion despite his clear intentions!
Jamie had one of the best Character arcs but was done dirty at the end. I really hope the book ending continues the arc and he doesn't die that way. I always thought that he should have been the one to Kill Cersi, it would have brought his character full circle. Even if it killed him also while doing it.
At a certain point there is no more *shocking* betrayals in this show. I start to expect it to happen every episode 😅🤷🏻♂️
Yeah numbs you to the point of rolling your eyes like
"Oh noooo (character) dead/raped/etc how horribleeee" 🙄
@@spongeyspikes09 well I did still hate it but after the Red Wedding nothing was gonna surprise me anymore
@@TheLightningBlade indeed
"I want my readers to not expect what's gonna happen next" yeah right Martin
This is how I feel watching HOTD I'm always expecting something terrible to happen after being scarred from GoT 🤣
The Littlefinger philosophy
The most shocking betrayal was giving the bad ass night king battle only 1 episode...
We were have an entire season with it
@@tayebwaoscar8713with the battle he deserves more episodes
What battle? I couldn't see a damn thing.
Man FUCK little finger
I still don't trust that man even after his death, his actor did a way to well of a job playing him.
When Littlefinger got betrayed by Starks. That was the most epic scene I've ever seeb
The last season itself must top this list! I'm still not over that shit!
I just watched game of thrones and finished it for the first time about two months ago. Since I was super behind on the times I really appreciate watchmojo is still coming with the new fresh GOT content 🙌🏻
Mostly because of house of the dragon
Did anyone dislike the high sparrow storyline
Yes, I hated every minute of it
Yes
Except higsparrow giving Cersei what she deserve 8s more satisfying
Yupp they annoyed the fuck out of me
That entire thing was built up for Cersei to blow the sept. That's it. Just like how the show wastest so much time on Bran becoming the Three eyed raven to do just one thing i.e. tell Jon his real identity!
Still waiting for George R.R. Martin to finish his Winds of Winter book after he was done making the Elden Ring lore.
Hes probably working more on the snow sequel.
He won't, it can't be mad if it's never finished.
Littlefinger betraying Ned wasn't shocking at all. He always envied Ned. He loved Ned's wife, possibly even more than Ned loved her. He despised the fact that Ned was royalty and he was born from nothing. How was his betrayal shocking?
Lol little finger didn't love anyone. Just was his ego. He helped destroy her family.
@@mrhumble2937 true, I should probably say he was infatuated with her lol
Ok but how can you not list the betrayal of little finger and the dagger that started this whole thing lol
Mojo's betrayal of the Top 10.
Omg Jaime reminds me of Prince Charming in Shrek!
Yesssssss!
Ramsay liberates Theon, but never really liberated him.
They should have mentioned how jaime decided to leave cersei as it was technically a betrayal
I never watched the show but even I know the infamy of the Red Wedding
Pretty sure it's gonna rank high
Watch it
I pride myself in being able to see things coming in shows. But I’ll be dammed if I say that there was a single cell in my body that could’ve predicted the red wedding. My jaw was on the floor
the most shoking part is.
you tube play at least 8-10 ads in 23 minutes
Tbf with Jamie killing the mad King dishonourable as the king was it was at least understandable. The man was fucking insane literally. Someone had to stop him one way or another. Don't know if they'll show this in house of dragon I'd love to see the reign of the mad king on screen though and everything leading up to it. From the start to the end of his rule and you could literally call the show fire and blood or something like that.
I want to see a build up to and then Roberts Rebellion. I want to see Robert with that war hammer!
It's really stupid that Varys Master of Whisperers made it so obvious that he was conspiring against Dany. He conspired against every king and lived so long. He would obviously do a better job than the shit writing in season 7.
Burning your own little
Daughter is the biggest betrayal of all. All others combined cannot even get close to Shireen’s killing
Stannis' one should be one. He isn't supposed to be that evil towards his apple of the eye. Not to mention burned alive is one of the most painful death ways possible
Are you kidding me? Littlefinger's betrayal is the most unsurprising betrayal in fiction. You could see it coming a mile away. He even warned Ned not to trust him.😊
16:04 I love the name The Purple Wedding after the colour of Joffrey’s face after he is poisoned 👿💜😂
One thing I didn’t realize till now is that Jamie and Jon both commit the same betrayal to their ruler Jamie killed the mad king to save kings landing, Jon killed Danny to save the whole of the 7 kingdoms
The red wedding always seperates the book readers from the show watchers 🤟🏻🤭
oh yeah you’re so much better because you read the book instead. stfu
Is there no 'Red Wedding' in the Books?
Ned didn't betrayed, he's just following his king's order and his loyalty killed him...
Yea ngl the red wedding f*cked me up for days 💯😭
Please do Top 20 betrayals in Disney movies!
YES
The red wedding is like something we knew it coming but we keep on anyway. And yet still we were shocked by its immeasurable impact.
The red wedding is the reason noone feels bad for Roose Bolton to be killed by his own son
One of the best shows ever made!
Dany's death t=was the most satisfying! My favorite characters were Sansa and Arya
Her death is what ruined the final season 4 me
Varys: Have you considered the best ruler is one who doesn’t want to?
*looks at Aegon the Usurper nervously*
Bran betraying hodor and making him hold the door 😭 actually cried while writing this
How is that a betrayal? Hodor sacrificed himself for Bran
He didn't it was bran who was holding the door in the body of Hodor .... So it was kind of a betrayal @@salihujibrinramalan3139
Revelation of the red woman was a great shock too...
Wasn't killing the Queen the biggest betrayal? Jon kind of knew, that is why he was torn. Mind you Tyrion would have been executed. Last of the Lannisters. The Queen was really angry maybe she got it out of her system. It was her biggest adversary. Had one of her children killed and her best friend. Tell her to have a seat and some chamomile tea and have a good nights rest. The rest of the country would have gave up. Her Dad went mad she was angry. Paranoid but angry. Felt bad for Jon because he will always wonder if he was wrong. Jamie did the right thing when he killed the Mad King.
I was really fucking pissed off when they killed Daenerys Targaryen.
Top 1 should be HBO betraying GoT fans with that season finale
What an interesting bunch of betrayals
The greatest betrayal is how the show ended. We need a redo.
just finish the series yesterday. the ending was good dont know why peopple dont like it.
Varys did nothing through out all the terrible kings killing incoming people. Actually helps them. Danni kills a few enemy's, saves the world against the dead. Now he makes a move, writing was terrible.
Theon greyjoy torture and became metally unstable was the most sad scene of all of GOT sad scenes for me
This is so good !
I lost my shit when he burned his daughter 👿
The red wedding hands down
Shay being what she was, that one hurt me.
Dany was betrayed the maximum no of times n Littlefinger betrayed the maximum number of times.
I may be alone in this, but I wish Sansa was pushed out of the moon door. Next to Bran, she was the biggest douche bag character of the show. Even in the end, when Bran became king she was still jealous and didn't want him to rule the North. She sucked
Not surprised that the red wedding is number 1
if Jorah was only alive after the battle of winterfell...
IDK why You guys mentioned Ramsay betrayal, His father was poisoned by their enemies..... XD
0:44 I'm sorry but Emilia's line delivery here is so bad it will always make me laugh
Rob didn’t honor his pledge, so it wasn’t a betrayal in my opinion
And I don’t blame the night watch for killing jon either…… they were asked to go against their beliefs
But the Watch is "Short Sighted" ... they think their job is to "Keep Out Wildlings" ... it's Not.
Sure the "Free Folk" don't Kneel. But the "Dead Folk" are a blight. They're Evil Incarnate. ... and if you leave the Free Folk north of the wall, they'll March with the Army of the Dead.
I agreed with you. still dont undersand all that hatred against Olly. His parents and village was killed by Magmar and eathen. So i see a reason why he try to kill Jon.
@@d.k.9511 yes. And you can understand why the watch would feel betrayed.
But "Big Picture" ... do you want "Maybe the Wildlings attack if we let them south" ... or ... "More Footsoldiers in the Dead Army"
@@ChurchNietzsche maybe, but the wall is impenetrable for White walkers by foot. Maybe im wrong but i can't remember the dead can crawl trough walls in the books.
Yeah, i know why did Jon let them in (and im agreed with you), but some of the men of the NW, were years at the Wall and fighting against wildlings. And they are consider them enemys. And Jon in they eyes betrays them.
@@d.k.9511 Well there is Hard Harbor. .. the Wall doesn't extend into the oceans.
I got a new Top 10 idea: Top 10 Worst Adaptations That Casual Viewers Like!
The greatest betrayal is the ending of the show that no one wanted.
I think The Most Heart Breaking Betrayal is the one that comes from Own FAMILY & LOVE, like Stanis burning his own daughter and John stabbing Danny cz thats what a dying person last sees in their last moment ultimate 💔.
The Red Wedding and The Death Of Ned Stark were the worst betrayals in Game Of Thrones.
3:54 Hands down the most beautiful Drogon scene.
It's strange annoying teen Sansa betraying constantly her family for the attention of her prince charming didn't make it to the top. But it's "just" the butcher's boy who cares 😅
On the other hand, the inept Edmure Tully did betray his men and that finished his uncle too, damn
You're wrong about Jon's death. He wasn't brought put because Uncle Benjen returned. It was because someone had information about Uncle Benjen. Get your facts right.
Dany's death always hits hard bro fuck don't do me like that 😭
i start all top 20's at 10. a bookmark would be nice.
Top Ten Game Of Thrones Moments No One Asked For
With GOT some things I remember and some I don’t. I’m noticing this channel is a bit obsessed with this show since quite a few times recently it’s been talked about.
Best betrayal Writers to Viewers
Ned stark and the red wedding was worst......it just traumatized me
Littlefinger is such a fkn Savage
Slithering little snake he is.
Killing khalessi was a stab in my back , I felt so betrayed by HBO
Imagine thinking Littlefinger betraying someone is shocking lmao😂
Sorry, Stannis Killing his Daughter is number 1! The red wedding sucked and was bad, but man this one was so hard to watch and the reason he did it didn't work.
Even though I have never watched the whole thing, most of this wasn't too shocking. Yes, some of it was horrific and gory but that was how history could have been. People are like that now as well. It's just done more modern.
Love ❤️ so much your voice since ever
I think that here is missing one scene. Scene there were Sam, Eddie and Gwen and they heard horn 3 times in a row. That was really cold scene
