The atmosphere of this game is phenomenal. The surrounding areas with mortars and explosions going off around you fits this game so well as if you're actually playing in a simulated warzone

@@Ashraf690 fr, it doesn’t make u feel like you’re in the war. Just feels like u have one objective and once u complete that, it’s over. This game u go over the entire maps from sector to sector and it continues to another map

@@mateolizatovich5441 Honestly I became obsessed with the weaponry of WWI through this game (Hellriegel, Lebel 1886, M1906 Benet-Mercie, C93, Mars Automatic, I could name a ton). Since everything was so experimental and unique compared to the WWII weaponry we always see (PPSH, MG42, Thompson, STG, Kar98K, Grease Gun, Sten, etc.) It was a breath of fresh air

And people wonder why there are concerns about the atmosphere and "immersiveness" of BF2042. The feeling BF1 gives you when played is unmatched.
Imo, bf1's operation mode is the best 'push game mode' among games. The theme, the map designs, the sound effects and atmospheric. It's perfectly balance and fit

The BF1 level design, destruction, and feel of the game is still unmatched.
This game is probably my favorite BF game of all time. It is amazing and makes you feel like your soldier has a stake in the The Great War. I love historical war games and the armies you can play as
They need to bring back the headshot sound in bf2042 from bf1. It's so satisfying to hear.

Agree, this map was so intense just cuz of how fast pace it feels, all infantry, no tanks no planes to ruin ur fun. Not to mention the fire atmosphere and the end music soundtrack on this map was one of the best, it really made it feel like you’re invincible

Yeah BF1 had the perfect combo of atmosphere, level design and a sense of survivability (not like the one-shot instant death that the newer games have) - but more importantly it was FUN. I've played the 2042 technical session and I'm totally underwhelmed - yeah, it's got good level design, but it's souless, too many instant deaths and instantly forgettable - it ain't no BF1!
Thanks for pointing that out. I think Jack is making a statement with this video. They need to create the same atmosphere or 2042 won't do well. The main reason BF5 failed was because it was too bright and the lighting was just terrible. I am seeing the same shit in BF2042, they could at least make the environment a bit more dark and gritty

Doesn't even need to be WW1, this game, clearly had incredibly talented people working on it, who poured everything into it.
I'm sure BF2042 will be fun, but even from we've seen I don't think it's even going to compare to this.

Maybe, but the feeling I have is that BF 2042 will be the most complete and polished BF game. It's had the longest development time with multiple studios working on it at the same time, whereas BFV had the least development time and was rushed. It wasn't supposed to release when it did, it was planned for later, but higher ups decided it would be better to release sooner.

This was my first Battlefield game and its my favourite, i genuinely think DICE is never going to top this game. I've played BF4 which lots of people say is the best but i honestly don't think its that great, its good but nowhere near as good as BF1.
I'm going to miss these dark, gritty, and atmospheric environments when playing 2042.
Still play this all the time, one of the best shooters ever for me.

BF1 just did so much right. It was a gorgeous game. So much atmosphere. It felt raw & gritty. Gameplay was fun. I have so many memories of epic battles on Frontlines as well. Truly an epic game.
I feel like if you shown someone who never saw a Battlefield game before, and told them BF1 is newer than BFV, they wouldn't doubt you.

Somehow I just can't see a way how the new bf is going to live up to the atmosphere of bf1. The sounds, the visuals, the grittiness. That's mostly what's keeping me from feeling hyped for 2042.

Downloaded BF1 because it’s in the PSPlus collection on PS5. Man, does it feel good playing Battlefield again. Haven’t played since the January after 5 launched.

Just got into the game 2 days ago, i played the beta, but never continued moving forwared, i was missing out, having tons of fun and so glad to see dozens of full servers with 50 ping, having a blast playing with some mates.
It’s still mind boggling how they can go from this masterpiece to a sorry excuse for a WW2 game. Had they captured the essence of war the same way bf1 did, in a WW2 setting, I think it may have been one of the best shooters of all time

I can honestly say I actually remember the first time I played an operation in bf1. It was one fo the first play sessions when bf1 came out. St Quentin scar. Probably everyone in the lobby’s fist operation. So we played as closes as we ever were going to how dice anticipated. Running through the trenches. Laying down being scared to move for a couple moments with new friend I had met. Closest a video game ever got to a war simulator
So hyped for 2042 though I don’t think any game will beat the atmosphere of this game. I love bf1!

That 'KECHING' ping when you get a kill is nostalgic beyond words. Loved sniping on this game for that alone. Made a change to the modern era battlefields, layering prone bodied wondering if you got the kill off

I clicked this thinking it was one of brokens videos. It was a nice surprise to hear Jacks voice Instead.
I loved sniping in this game. The physics were fantastic and popping heads was SOOOO satisfying. Also the physics really made each rifle very unique and depending on your play style they really all could be great in a particular player's hands.
