ABOUT…
I am Rebecca and I am one heck of a passionate vocal coach/singer/songwriter/impressionist/health/fitness/self- improvement/anything that makes me smile!! I love anything vocal/singing related and geek out on it every day. I want to motivate and inspire others to follow their dreams…corny? Well maybe but it’s true. So what’s motivating me?? I had a huge tumour removed summer 2017 and my ovaries and fallopian tubes. The tumour was the size of a 20 week baby!! However, despite not being able to walk for a couple of weeks, and feeling generally awful…. It has made me create and do what I love! It wasn’t an easy time but I won’t let fear dictate my life. I didn’t think ‘why me’, there are plenty of horrific issues people have to deal with…it’s not always smooth sailing. It’s true when you hear, ‘Life is short’, the crazy thing is, I am glad it happened…I appreciate life even more and practice gratitude everyday…It’s so easy to get caught up with the little things…and I do sometimes, but look at the bigger picture, will it matter in a year or two…?

Weikath is a genius. This song is like a movie film. The story, the lyrics, the rhythm changes, the riffs, the VOCALS, the duelling solos and the dual solos. It´s everything here. My favorite Helloween tune.
It is one of THE best metal songs ever! The magic of the Keeper albums is immense and they were ALL so young. Saw them in 2017 and they were absolutely fantastic!

I will probably get a lot of heat for this... Michael Kiske was good when he was younger but now he just annoys me.
His voice is long gone, his arrogance is at its maximum but the talent is no longer there to back it up.
It feels like (the god) Kai Hansen and others are just carrying him so he doesnt become an alcoholic bumm.

I love helloween and think that kiske is one of the best vocalist of all time, but I don’t think he is the king of metal bc I think RONNIE JAMES DIO is the KING OF METAL bc he has a amazing voice entitled the end (R.I.P DIO) and is so generally amazing, but kiske is absolutely the THE KING OF POWER METAL for sure:)

It's been 30 years since I got into them. This song blows me away everytime I listen to it. Michael is amazing, like Geoff Tate and Bruce Dickinson. Technically he's probably even better. Lyrics are beautiful too "Stay well on your way and follow the sign. Fulfull your own promise and do what's divined". What can be better than that?
Check Tony Martin in Black Sabbath. You’ll not get disappointed either.

Now you can imagine what it was like for us hearing this for the very first time back in 1988 when we were 14 yrs old.
Our minds, our musical taste and appreciation for great musicianship was forever changes for the better.
I fricking cried the first time I heard this song.
And now try to listen to any of the radio hits from the time. They ALL sound aged and silly by now. The only reason people listen to Wham, Duran Duran, and the rest of the crap from that time is nostalgia. But the metal from the same era still sounds great and timeless.

Helloween was my favorite when I was a 16 year old long haired, ripped jeans, metal head....in 1987. I still listen to them to this day.
When I first heard this record I was in awe of the singers vocal , it is like Iron Maiden and King Diamond in one , absolutely amazing .
Classic album... and great vocals. Man I miss the 80's.
I still listen to this LOUD in the car. You should see my kids faces....lol.
I still do that with some other helloween songs. And my son bang his head with me...that's amazing
Both Keeper of the Seven Keys Part I & Part II albums are widely acknowledged by many Metalfans as two of the most important Metal albums ever. Classics!
What an amazing song, Kiske's voice is excellent as always, but the song is a true masterpiece.
The band should have kept doing these epics instead of pop garbage like chameleon
@@mikem.7921 I actually think Chameleon's a really good album. It's just not a good Helloween album, if that makes sense. It's really more of a compilation of four solo albums written by each of the members, showing off their individual personalities/styles. I don't think I'd call it POP though... it's a mix of styles. They did go back to more classic metal later, though. Gambling with the Devil is, IMO, the best of their newer albums.

I loved this video! I've been listening to Helloween for more than 10 years and I really appreciate that people who really knows about music make this kind of material! I listened to Kiske last year live in Santiago and it was the best show I've EVER been. He is maybe the best singer of the entire world!

Rebecca, I'm not quite sure if you were aware or not but when Michael Kiske recorded the Keeper of the Seven Keys, Part I with Helloween he was only 18 years old. It was mind-boggling for someone that age to have that much range and control. Just thought I would share that with you. Love your reviews!

Stayed with you to the end! This song means so much to me and I got chills watching you go through it. Kiske is amazing and I wish he recorded more great music, although I think that also might be one of the reasons his voice is just as stellar today.

Kiske is beyond amazing and this album is not for beginners, there's an entire storytelling and if you don't feel it, you don't get it.
You should listen to We Got The Right.

The liner notes for the 2010 deluxe set say that there was no story or continuity to speak of, only Halloween from the part 1 and this title track were (intentionally at least) related. Still the whole thing is best experienced in its complete form, but none of the other tracks hold a candle to this

OMG, waited so much for this one! Saw helloween live 3 times, all of them awesome... Michael Kiske is a beast, Kai hansen also can sing alot, not as kiske, but he can, and there is SO MUCH music, they have so much fun on stage. You can feel they make music to have fun.

Isn't it amazing to think that a song so maticulously thought out musically, vocally and lyrically and delivered with such passion, brilliance and talent gets very little recognition and a number 1 pop song with three chords and a melody that my three year old son could write is so popular?
METAL doesn't get the recognition it deserves and probably never will. Such a shame
It's not for everyone. I would say this type of music is for a deeper thinking, more discretionary listener. One of the reasons I love metal and its gazillion sub genres.
@@matthewherbert8875 -- Precisely right. Metal is NOT for everyone. We don't live on Lake Wobegone, where everyone is above average. There's a general lack of taste, discretion and intelligence in this world. Most people are herd animals, fed swill from the top down.
People in general don't understand this kind of music, it's very complex in every way. Pop songs are simple, common lyrics with very popular stories. It's done that way to please as many people as possible, so it's pop.
I'm so glad you choose to give old power metal songs like this a chance. There's so much good metal out there and the surge in reaction videos such as this will open a lot of people's ears to a whole new world of music. Keep it up! Cheers from California!
The influence of Helloween is enormous they have to the the most covered band in the world. At least here on youtube. They have always written songs with a positive message too.
Michael Kiske is absolutely legend. He has a very high range of vocal and clean voice.
At the time of the release "Keeper of the Seven Keys Part II" Michael was only 20 years.
He still sounds like in his 20's

i would love for her tp listen to Rob Halford young and shes heard the one from British steel tour (my least favorite of his versions of Diamonds and rust) and ne from his last few shows like victim of Changes .hes done that consistently and id like her to take on how well he has or hasnt kept his voice after the surgery and hes 67, id love RVA's take on the three anyway .. like Us Festival, British steel and the may 17th 2019 Firepower tour.. all have Victim of Changes

Helloween is one of the few truly great bands that create whole genres with their music.
Back when I was teen, everybody wants to sing like Kiske. Helloween was very popular here in southeast Asia.

Keeper of the Seven Keys part 1.
This song was on Keeper of the Seven Keys part 2 which was released a year later.
Keeper of the Seven Keys part 1 was recorded from November of 1986 through January of 1987.
Keeper of the Seven Keys part 2 was recorded from May of 1988 through June of 1988.
He was actually 20 when this album was recorded.
He turned 19 towards the end of recording Keeper of the Seven Keys part 1.
Remember watching them live in Stockholm in 88 as opening act for maiden. Most insane gig ive ever witnessed. Kiske all day long 🙏

There is a staff rumor coming from a Monsters Of Rock festival in the past were Iron Maiden and Helloween was sharing the stage the same day , and indeed Maidens were the main band. During the Helloween concert Bruce Dickinson , legendary singer of Iron Maiden , was spectating Michael Kiske singing from the sidestage, in a TOTAL jawdropped & shocked mood. Not sure about best, but it's definitely up there. Schaefer's songwriting style definitely combines with Hansi's vocals quite well.

This entire album. Both of them were a HUGE influence on me.
Thank you Rebecca for this reaction: as an information, I tell you that the singer Michael Kiske, is the same singer of the band Unisonic, which you made a reaction long ago. This Helloween album is from the year 1987, but Kiske in the current band, keeps that vocal register almost intact, its voice seems never to age.
I don't think Kiske can hit the same F# he could when in his 20's but today his vibrato is much better. I always thought he was a tiny bit warbly (might have been the vocal layering the recording engineer was fond of on the Keeper albums) in the early years. It is obvious he got a good vocal coach as he matured. His diction is much better (people with foreign accents who sing in english sometimes have odd-sounding vowel sounds but of course the song lyrics were always a bit odd-sounding to a native english speaker as well). He is probably the most technically impressive vocalists in heavy metal. I wish he'd had more mainstream success outside of Helloween.

I was late to work today because this popped up on my TH-cam feed and I had to stop and watch the whole thing. Sat through the whole song. I've known all the words of this song since 2002 when I first heard it and it's still one of my all time favourites. Michael Kiske was/is truly a vocal wonder. One of the greatest metal singers of all time only surpassed by Rob Halford and Dio when it comes to range. It's also great seeing you react to my favourites, as I said. Nightwish, Judas Priest, Helloween etc. Your videos always make me smile, Rebecca! I'll start supporting you on patreon soon as well, you're one of the people who truly deserves appreciation for your work. Keep them coming!

I’ve heard this song a thousand times or more. It is one of my all time favorite songs. Maybe my favorite ever. Something about this song just hits on every emotion for me. It’s so beautifully written! The lyrics, the music, Michael Kiske’s vocals. It’s just the ultimate to me. Kiske is one of my favorite singers of all time.

I saw Helloween play Donington in 1988 but had been a fan since Keepers part 1 came out in 1987. the vocal range, depth, power and consistancy of Michael's voice just blows me away even to this day.
