Next video: my first time playing as a striker😂
He’s actually a former striker 😂
@@Nkembo11 I wanna see him play it again tbh
Would be dope to see
Or winger again
Video after: my first time as a manager
My son 11 and I we are big fans of you, Matt. We are from Belarus but live in Indianapolis for 8 years. More than 1 year we are with you and about 6 with soccer. We just love your philosophy and princiciples of life. When we took your autograph after this game, I forgot to say GREAT JOB on new position! And I forgot picture. Mabe next time😄 Good luck, Matt!
A European should never say soccer
Жыве Беларусь 🇧🇾 ❤
@@zuesnastrio3062 Well he's American
Its both
When you think you saw it all and it isn't the case anymore 😂 Well Played man ❤👏
In my opinion you played in a very professional way, what I think you need to improve is on your first touch, take advantage of open spaces and risk more, you play to safe, overall that is good if you are a professional but it does not set you apart from the rest, that is my thought about your performance in this match, keep it up.
Really really amazing to see this out of you Matt! Long, long time fan. And your way of thinking and articulating the game has definitely helped me perform and enjoy the beautiful game of soccer! 🙌🏽
Fun video. Great job, Matt. A lot different than those old St. Louis videos where every other play was just passing the ball back to your center back lol.
11:38 is just soo hard to watch. Your teammate already won the ball back but just because the enemy is holding his arm he starts flipping out and thus getting sent off the pitch. Obviously a lot of acting by the opposing player but it's just so stupid to act like that when you are in control of the game...
Min 8.39 on the game. Should have either sorted chested into a left foot pass to the strikers left foot.. or a first time left foot pass into strikers feet. Reason being you have time to evaluate the position as that ball is coming to your chest.
64th minute : once you pass you have to run into the box to create chances and pressure the defense. That will open up goal scoring opportunities.
WHAT A TIMING! I have a match today and im going to switch from RB TO CM. THANKS A LOT MATT FOR THIS VIDEO !
Good luck man 💪
How did you do?
@@Kaijufied Train and train until you do 3 great performance in a row and after that ask for a switch with the coach
Great Vid Matt, Can’t Wait To See You Dominate In The Next Game Analysis!!!
14:27 WOW! Nice play!! From the turn near the centre to the thread to ur striker! I'm proud my g!
Got to say..awesome runs and movement bro! keep it up!
Man I'm glad I found this video, I started playing for an over 40 7v7 team that is significantly below the level I'm used to playing at so they want to move me from keeper to center mid. I haven't played in the field in 5+ years and for the 20 years before that I played as an outside back.
Wtf is “playing in the field” or an “outside back” 😂😂
@@قرفصprolly means as an outfield player when saying in the field as in a CB, CM, ST, etc
And when he says outside back he means full back
This guy is the most versatile player I’ve ever seen how is he not on the mls even as a squad player he can play everywhere and give you a good game
bc he dont take his chances everytime he can take a shot or dribble he always passes it off he never takes the risks
he doesn't really take risks in his game tbh, if he wants to get at a higher level he has to dribble into space more and take on defenders as a 10 along with the movement and passing that he does really well
He’s still the same after years. Plays back or sideways every time. I’ve never seen him play a creative pass in all his touch analysis videos. Modern wingback is supposed to create chances. He just plays like an old school outside back, contributes nothing other than running and simple passes
dude matt playing the 10 is actually dangerous like he can honestly play the 10
Nice analysis as always, Matt. Would love a video unpacking the decision to play #10. Was it a manager recognizing you for the position or was the impetus more personal? Thanks!
You know the coach is bellow average when he asks the ten to be more defensive and "attacking is just a bonus"... Ooh Lawd!
This is why American football won’t develop
Well done Matt. I’m a 9 who is currently transitioning into the LW/LB role. I really am trying to be as versatile as possible, and this video has helped show me that it is indeed possible to transition Into a different position very well.
Your coach doesn’t rate you buddy 🤣
@@jordanewen6529 The 9, is a nickname for a striker bruh
@@davidcod6024 that’s very impressive
@@davidcod6024 uhhhhhhhh
@@jordanewen6529ur a clown for saying that for sure
@10 min mark in the game you could/should’ve taken at least a few more dribbles to pull one of those defenders away from your target man...if they didnt pull to you, shoot it yourself. You had your mark on your backside and beaten. Just my .02
Matt clear of iniesta
hope to see you in this position again , no need to pass to the space everytime .
to be honest wide range vision may not your good point but you have good run , may be you can play forward or second striker ex. luke de jong
When was the lineup ever fully corect
Is a 10 different in the US? In Europe playing 10 means Centre Attacking Midfielder or "in the hole". Matt's role here was a man marking defensive midfielder
I second this question, Matt.
It means the same, but I think he is using it as a position rather than role. It certainly looked like an eight or even a six, but we did not see a lot of the game when out of possession, so he was probably starting deeper than a normal 10 by the time we get to see the play.
Being a 10 doesn´t mean he can´t have a defensive assignment
Good videos man keeping my love for the game and interest high even after surgery!
I think 10 is the CAM and 8 is CM tho
12:05 i love how the opponent start to fall once he realized the ref is coming 😂
Love ur vids helpful for an mls next player to have notes on gameplay
What's hilarious is that I was in the BYB section the whole time drumming (right behind the goal you were shooting at 1st half) and I kept seeing you up the field, on the left/center, pushing the net, and I kept saying to the guys around me "I'm so confused, that's Sheldon, he's the guy w/ the YT channel and he's been a RB forever, what is going on here?"
Well done. Beautiful play from the midfield.
i love every touch game analysis
Strong performance
Great Video! Next video: Hartfurt vs loudoun united?
Kyle is my fellow country man, keep up the good work matt
A coach can really just put you anywhere😂😂🔥
"Uhm, let me see you as a number 10 today"
Good job matt
Tbh you inspire me
Ooooh can't wait to watch this after work
Great vid and gameplay
Very nice man. Continue your work.
Great video, memorizing moments from the match
Shelley in the 10... yeh mad
Well played. You grew into the game.
Whenever you receive the ball you always look to pass. You need to dribble and shoot Especially as center mid.
Take that shot at the top of the box at 13 mins
Great performance at CM!!!
Wild that he cleated him in the face on the way down, rough game
Honstly not too Bad though I think winger suits you better if your Coach wants to play you further Front
6:32 - play to ur CB ...he was on his own and comfortable...
I’m excited for this
21:03 couldn't you use the space instead of making the pass too quick?
My idol matt sheldon i saw your player card here in efootball you got 67
As a Trinidadian very suprised to stumble on a vid with another Trini(Hodge) in it😂
Good Job Matt, I know Center Mid is hard especially if you have never played it before.
You had a good game
if that rido guy made pass on 19:25 to number 8 it would be very dangerous attack
Matt, decent work for the first time at the 10! Good runs just missing some of the trademark vision and touch of those that play there naturally. Still though cant help but think, its not a great look for club and USL Championship to not have someone in the squad or youth team that may be suited than a trained outside back.
Thanks Matt ❤️
14:53 its jack Blake who used to make yt videos too 😢
well played
Please make video about stretch after traning
Great performance
Wow, what a performance! You did amazing Matt! So when are we gonna see you play as a goalkeeper?😂😅
You did really well man! Premier league bound🔜
You guys should’ve won this game, like you said this tie is like a loss. Playing a man up in the first half and the last twenty minutes of the game they gave you guys so much space in behind the defense, could’ve easily grabbed a winner
You did pretty decent for being a defender playing mid, cheers.
You should do more anylisis as center mid
Man why are you not in the mls, even Messi has come to the US. It would have been a blast to see you square off against Messi.
Hey Matt! I love your videos but this one especially because i’m a center mid. I learned a lot from this one! I was wondering how realistic it is to want to play in the USL after I play at an naia college?
lucas torreira under Unai Emery vibe!
Bros the USL camavinga
Miss you in St Louis! How did the new position highlight your strengths? How did it expose your weaknesses? How will you change your training approach if this is your permanent position?
U would make such a great coach with like 17-18 yr olds
I think you're a very intelligent player
Diz Pe didnt deserve that red imo. That “kick” looked 100% accidental as just part of him rolling backwards to try and get up after getting shoved
Versatile 👏
hey Matt. Whats your opinion of Messi first arrival to MLS and his debut? cheers mate
Great job Matt,I guess you did a great job as number 10
Is your teammate KAVEH from iran🇮🇷?im just curious to know
What a frustrating match team wise lol. But not a bad performance at all out of position
So this is basically the second division in the USA football? Im genuinely curious cuz u seem kinda advanced in age and playing with these guys.
Btw how much do you earn? I dont want to seem rude cuz i know football aint that advanced in usa and stuff but in my country i have seen 3rd division teams playing way better than this
I’m sorry I saw the first 3 minutes of the game and though “this is definitely American soccer”
Listen bro, you all are doing way better than we are here at Louisville City. 🤦♂️
Trust your skills more and use your canons❤🙏🏽
2:08 he kicked him on the face after he tried to kill the keeper
Thxs for tips
Hi Matt,
I am coming back to pro football and it's been around 4 years since I didn't play in a league at all now I am 23. Throughout those years had injury which prevented me from sprinting at full speed and now last 2 years been working on myself, training and playing 6vs6, 7vs7 in smaller pitches. Now as coming back to pro football, I am facing problems with my fitness. Before injury I was naturally rapid and no one would able to catch me and it was so easy accelerate and run at full speed. Nowadays I feel that I am not as rapid as I was and struggling to run fast and getting tired too quickly. For example last game I played 45 mins as left winger and already after 5-10 min was running out of breath and couldn't easily sprint. I am so confused even tho last 2 months was going to gym and running a lot. But again getting tired to quick and my speed is not the same. Could you give me some advice? Did you face similar problems in your career?
Instead of just just running miles or a lot in one sitting run in intervals example if you have a football feild nearby run from one end of the penalty to the other 25 times in under 4 minutes if possible as well as running from one end of the field to the other in 20 seconds take a 20 second rest and do it again 10 times
Rissi for ball tho
Anyone know where you can watch these games live?
TH-cam if you’re outside the US, think u need espn or something if ur from there
Why do you almost never take risks? You never take that next dribble or pass that will make you the difference in the game rather than your teammates. For example 8:53 you had an incredible amount of space to drive into but you just payed it off instead of trusting your self. Much love tho keep it up.
Your first pass was 💯 on target. Too bad your teammate can't keep up
I dunno if you have covered this earlier but, why the change of position?
Center Mid???????
Lets gooooo!!!!
I play for Indy Elevens Academy
edwards man from vincy
3:08 you should driven way more, the guy behind you can't do anything about it if you drive correctly inwards. he has to foul you, and after that look for shooting or a timed pass. Clearly the angle from the first pass you wanted to initiate is a no go even if you hit it harder.
Interesting how impressive you look in drills yet so average on the field
work on your touch, positioning off and on the ball and please practice more weight of pass, situational awareness as a midfielder is not up there yet.
I do not understand why they moved you out of the center mid, you were playing a good game and helping the defense. The goal they scored, in my opinion, is because they moved you out of that position.
The pass to the space in the beginning of the game, I would have passed low and using the external part of my right foot, and let the friction of the turf and the ball do their work, at the beginning the ball would have gone away from the defender and then by the friction it would return back to the attacker, like when you play in a pool table.
That first play you talk about where he’s got 2 players on both sides imo, he should’ve kept dribbling in and forcing the defender to pressure him and then there he can choose to shoot outside the box or pass to the guy who got unmarked or fake a shot / pass he passed it too early and the defender knew he would attempt a through ball
Cool
You did yourself proud. Well done, Matt.
