Hey Matt. I was at this match and you played excellent. Good touches and made the right decision on passing and positioning. Don’t worry the crowds will get larger and louder once the weather picks up.
I'm so happy to see your growth, your earlier matches used to be like "I sensed the pressure and player back to my CB or goalie " You have come a long way from, playing without confidence to now taking risks, taking players 1on1 , driving ahead in space That gives me alot of hope
20:55 Can't believe he didn't play you in. Always the worst when as a back you make that run and the winger decides he's going to try and dribble past the whole opposition instead haha
Hey Matt! I appreciate your analysis videos a lot because it will be easier for me as a winger when we face off in the future 😉 all jokes aside, great video as usual! 🔥
Hey Matt. Please keep these analysis videos coming. My son is 17 and plays semi-pro at left back. We love how humble you are with both good and bad plays. My son has learned a lot from you. Great job :)
Great seeing in the Green and Blue Matt. I've been following you for a number of years and I remember back a few years ago saying that you should come play for us. You gotten better tactically and technically every year since I've been following you on here. I'm proud to have you on our team and reppin' Hartford and Connecticut. The new kits look great. Looking forward to coming down from Massachusetts and seeing some matches this season and hopefully some wins!
Hi matt! Congratulations on the man of the match performance!! Can you maby make like a 10-15 minute follow a long stretch routine? I know you have two longer ones already but a 10-15 minute shorter one would be awesome
Hey man could you make a video, on why you don't try to go and play in countries like Scotland? I remember you made a video with William Akio who payed in the Canadian premier league and went on to play for Ross County, so why don't you try to do the same?
@@nathancook2852 being pro has nothing to do with passion on the pitch, I train with pros everyday lol. maybe he isn't the type to complain then I get it.
At 3:11, you should give a through ball to your #10 or your left winger #29. The back pass is a little safer, but the pass to #10 is a more positive and threatening play. The wing pass really gives you guys momentum and the left full back can then overlap even though the pass is a little riskier. At 6:35, I disagree with your assessment. Passing to the winger immediately is a bigger threat. He then has the option to take on the defender or pass back to you as a safety net or for you to cross. The really aggressive play would be for you to pass right away and overlap with him to mess up the opposing defense so they aren't as well set. At 9:19, it is safer to immediately switch it to #5. If your mid loses the ball from the press there, the other team gets a counter attack.
Thanks for doing these. I'm learning a lot and im starting to see the game better (even though its just C division adult 11's. Can't wait to take this and apply it to coaching! You're officially my favorite player!
First-time subscriber! and a New Englander.. I have a young daughter who really loves soccer and her CDM position.. your analysis vid was great for her.. maybe in the future, how about a vid on breaking the lines as defensive back.. good luck on your next game 👍
Great analysis. Once again, I really appreciate your critique of yourself. No disrespect, not my first game analysis view of yours. I wouldn't say your best game either, but cheers to you for motm.
16:22 I would have done the one-two to your teammate since he is already running and there is space and the covering defender is standing which makes it difficult for him to catch up with him when your teammate eventually gets the ball.
Good performance, there were a few moments where you guys had a more penetrating pass available and decided to keep posession in the final third which I think ultimately prevented your team from scoring a winner.
Are you ready to play against Dylan Borrero? If he doesn’t play then there is a good chance it will be Boetang or Damien Rivera on the left when you play against the revs
15:45 definetly shouldnt have stepped up. Id rather slow him down and force to go wider and then burst into that number 23. By stepping up u just played yourself out. Obviously if he wouldve taken a bad touch or sum then ofc step up. Coming from 18 yo fullback. Keep up the good work brother and great performance overall!
Hey Matt, I have a question, do you have like another job or a side hustle? Cuz I'm really struggling economically and I don't wanna quit football cuz I finally feel like I'm fitting into the team, I'm 22, but not having enough money is making it really hard to keep doing this, I'd appreciate a response
Hey good game congrat, i think you shuold tuck inside more, your Winger has run with the ball tendency if you tuck inside and act like midfielder Will open much option and link up play and help to out number in the mid area, hey it's just an suggestion i don't have the right to teach you. Hope you and the team have great season
Hello, i really like your videos and i also want to reccomend you to do a video about training barefoot. The benefits and negatives of it. I think it would be a great video concept.
I think you can become a professional footballer at that age with talent but you'll need a lot of luck for that..... you have to give trials then you need to be consistent.... but at 28 years of age it's better to do a full time job instead of playing pro football because yiu have to think about your future as well(if you find any grammatical mistakes then I'm sorry cause english is not my first language)
I admit that it is actually harder to tell in this analysis video, but when I watched the game, I thought it was Matt’s best game in a long time. I thought that OC was trying to attack down their Left and Matt made it difficult. At the same time, he was involved in a lot of the Hartford attacks even if they did not lead to goals. Open to interpretation, for sure.
In his first game the announcers ripped him a new one. I didn’t think it was that bad of a game. Matt was benched in the second game. In the third every bad pass or bad foul the broadcast team blamed Matt even if he was no where near the play. A shaky moment or two, but he was fine. And I get it, he is new to the team, but he was the same number for the other games he played. Not sure why they kept id’ing him wrong. This, the fourth game, was his best game and the broadcast team probably wanted to make up for all missed calls in the prior game. No one else stood out, so they gave it to him.

Incredible to see you performing at your new club!
I don't know how you weren't ripping number 7's head off @20:53 that should've been a first time pass to you in space.
Cause he is a pro and class. I am sure it was addressed in the locker room and film session.

Hey Matt, could you provide an update on Sheldon Tweedie?
Crazy! Andrew Fow in Orange County was my old teammate in Sweden, love the guy!
Always wondered where he plays.
Great content!
love these vids, very helpful for a right back like myself. Thankyou for doing them- ik they probs take alot of time and effort🙌💘

Yes Matt, Lovely MOTM Performance
Loved watching that game live
Hey Matt...I like how you analyse your matches...I've been watching your vlogs it has helped me improve in my games also as a full back. 🤝🏿🙌
Love this style of video. I really would love to see more content like this except for different positions too such as winger.
Great game Matt, I always enjoy watching these, keep up the great work 👍

Love your every touch analysis. Just an idea, could you show some off the ball movement analysis?
3:31 that cb has about 43 pace 😂
Lol and that’s being generous
Were you heart broken against charleston battery? When they scored that goal?

3:04 here the better option was the number 6 in the middle.
Congrats Matt! Beast mode.
On a side note: USL on tv is really hard to watch
Wow, anything is possible if you believe💪
class from you sheldo
# he is the right back Barca could use next season 😁!! Keep it up Mr.Sheldon 🎉
Matt why do you almost never play the long switch to your left back/mid from your right back position? like especially at 9:20
I was thinking the same, but maybe the coach wants to switch through the midfield instead of the long switch.
The long switch is too risky, which can easily lead to a counter attack, when the striker intercept the ball.
Only time I've been ok with a Draw, my club OC didn't win but Matt and Hartford didn't lose.
The summary: I played always perfect. I'm not discussing it, I am explaining it to you.
Hartford athletic, that’s in my home state 🫡

Is there any chance to start my career as a goalkeeper or cdm and my age now is 23 ?!
Did you play academy when you were younger?
Hey Matt, How are you?
Was not a foul either way for me. It was a coming-together and feet got tangled up.
