I love how peter capaldi’s doctor is literally going through a mid life crisis and this is how he deals with it. Riding a tank, wearing sunglasses, playing eruption to a crowd of medieval people. How much better can you get?

1. Dry sense of humor
2. Highly devoted to companions
3. Plays a mean guitar (Literally, all of the guitar stuff is played by him)
4. Makes insane stuff in-character
5. Has *always* been a huge fan of the show, his whole life, and it shows through his acting.

So even though he's not playing live as they film, he WAS playing the riffs himself.

I like this about 12. He started out very grumpy and uptight, then he had a mid-life crisis and kinda shot out of control, and in the last season he'd kind of settled into a comfortable personality halfway between the two
To be fair by that point he had lost his wife after spending 24 years with her on Derilium
That he's out of control at this point does fit in with "Me's" hybrid theory that it's him and Clara combined...
I consider Capaldi the champion of the new series because he mixed in old who and new who and made it into something we never expected.

Lo and behold the magician rode into the area on an iron cart. The "dude" played a lute, defeating Bors the Borish. The magician called forth a nymph and witch with his music.
I love the look on Jenna’s face when he starts playing that variation of the opening riff to “Pretty Woman”. That seemed more like an unintended blush on her part, but that just added more to her character.
I wish we could have seen his hands for that part ... cant be sure if he was playing it or it was overdubbed ... the entrance bit though was all capaldi

You know what's awesome about this? Besides, of course, EVERYTHING? The fact that it's so in character. Of COURSE The Doctor would spend his periods of meditation partying in the company of medieval people, teaching them things they shouldn't know yet and playing them music that won't exist for hundreds of years. It's exactly how he gets his kicks.

One of the best "fandom" moments I've ever experienced was going to the cinema screening of this particular episode and hearing the roar of applause and laughter at this scene (it only got louder when the tank became visible).

Okay but what I like about this the most is how we don't know if it was the fact that Clara's back when he thought they parted ways for good or the fact that Missy is alive when he thought she was dead that made him so happy. Bur he was looking at both of them and called them his friends and started playing Pretty Woman them. He loves them equally, on different ways, but equally.

I cannae stop watching this clip... This was my very first Doctor Who clip I've ever watched. Just seeing Peter Capaldi on that tank, shredding away with the guitar, just intrigued me and made me wanna watch the Twelfth Doctor's run. I can safely say, it was absolutely worth it.
The Twelfth Doctor was very my first Doctor. This incarnation is very special to me, through this Doctor, I watched the entire runs of the Tenth Doctor and the Fourth Doctor. So Twelve, Ten and Four are my all time favourite Doctors; and it all started with Twelve and this awesome clip.

I don't know, jumping a horse through a mirror might be comparable... at least for me. Even if the rest of that ep is somewhat subpar for me.
For Ten it was riding a horse through a mirror, for Eleven it was jumping out of Rory’s bachelor party cake and for Twelve it was this. This is still the best one though.
When you realise Capaldi is playing the 'Doctor Who' theme on guitar... o.O
That's not the Doctor Who theme, that's the sound of the 4th Wall shattering in millions of tiny pieces.

God I always thought that David Tennant was the most glorious Doctor, but I gotta say Capaldi gave him a run for his money! Such an epic entrance.

The dad humour is strong with this Doctor. He may have invented dad jokes a few hundred years too early.
The Ninth Doctor was cool because of his prior circumstances.
The Tenth Doctor was cool because he really wanted to be cool.
The Eleventh Doctor was not cool, but he thought he was.
The Twelfth Doctor is cool, because he just straight-up is!

This will always be what I remember the Twelfth doctor for. Peter Capaldi nailed it!
This is the moment that made him the doctor for me.
For me it was when he showed up in the 50th anniversary.

***** No i understood your problem with the scene, but this fits the character perfectly. I get that it may be cringe worthy for you, but to me this screams what makes the doctor, the doctor. Where you see cringe, I see an awesome sight! But I understand if it's not for you, everybody has their own tastes.

That scene made me like Doctor Who again. The previous season had good moments but I wasn't sold on Capaldi's Doctor yet. This scene reintroduced him as a rock star, and I loved it.
Ah, the last Doctor. And what a Doctor Capaldi was.
Sure, he didn't have a lot of good scripts to work with, but he will be remember as one of the best anyway.
