R.I.P Pete
Cause of death: Stepped on a butterfly
Cyber Leader 16-914 moment of silence for pete
That's the butterfly effect for you...
Because the real question is where did I get the cup of tea
Answer: I'm the doctor just accept it
Plot twist: the Doctor got the cup of tea because Pete stepped on a butterfly
If Pete went back in time, stepped on a butterfly and erased himself from existence, then he never existed in the first place. If he never existed, then that means he didn't step on that butterfly, because how can you step on a butterfly if you don't exist? But if he didn't step on that butterfly, then he was never erased from existence, so he's still alive. That the thing though, if he's still alive, and does still exist, then he WAS there to step on the butterfly and erase himself from existence, but if he erased himself from existence, then he didn't exist, and WASN'T there to step on the butterfly, therefore never erased himself from existence and still exists. Did anyone else notice that paradox?
Capaldi was like a return to the classic Doctor: Grumpy, contempt for humans, with a weird sense of humor.
He was basically 3 merged with 6 and I love him for it
I think that was Capaldi's intent - he wanted his Doctor to be more alien than human, to contrast with Tennant and Smith - in other words, to go back to who the Doctor was in the beginning. Peter was hoping that they could do a story where Twelve meets his granddaughter again, but it never happened. (Although he did have her picture on his desk at the university, so at least he got that.)
@@aec9174 plus he grew up watching the classic doctors so it makes sense they would impact him a lot more than the new who doctors
@@me-dc8pj Definitely true.
He was a good choice for doctor.
I never noticed before how his voice turns even more scottish when talking about the entirely useless stratum of society :D

I feel River is exactly the reason. I love her but we don't need more versions of her running around
There has to be a reason for the handcuffs 😅😅😅😅
Well, imagine your friends who are a couple doing that in your bedroom. It probably feels like that to him.
Or completely reasonable.
@@elovejapan7818 Honestly, with how big the TARDIS is, and how VERY AWARE of the fact that there are many rooms he will likely never go into for years? I feel like it's more like your friends who are a couple doing that in the apartment building you own.
Like, yeah. Sure. It's a bit gross, conceptually, but at the same time? You also gave them their own room to share, when on long adventures, so what did you expect?
I do think the reason is that he's realized two things:
1. Children conceived in the TARDIS are at high risk, at the hands of people seeking to use them.
2. Even if they aren't trying, apparently, the Humans can still manage to accidentally get pregnant.
In a sense, yes, because of River, in the sense that he wouldn't want anyone else having to go through what she has. At least, that's my reading of it. At least, based on the context that *Gemini ad Astra* put forward.
