Color transitions in chain plying

I have a longer video on chain plying coming soon, but a question came up about managing color transitions, so I thought I’d share a quick unedited video that shows how to control those transition so color changes in your 3 ply yarn are either abrupt or a little more subtle.
Exactly how subtle depends a lot on how the colors change in your singles, too. If your singles do a slow fade from one color to the next, the transitions in your 3 ply are going to be more subtle even if you aren’t paying attention and trying to control them.
