Megura is such an underrated Disney character. Hot as hell, sarcastic wit, and excellently voiced by Susan Egan. The film wouldn't be the same without her.
Susan Egan was also Belle in the Original Broadway cast of "Beauty and the Beast". She also played the role in Los Angeles, during the production of "Hercules". She would do the voice recordings for "Hercules" during the day, and then perform in "Beauty and the Beast" at night.
Not a huge fan of her given that for most of the film she's trying to kill Hercules--granted, one may argue she was forced to, but at times it's implied that Hades is providing incentive rather than strict force. I'm glad she gave her life to prove her love for him, but her previous actions made the romance feel (mostly) disengenuous to me.
@@OpticalSorcerer bro wdym it’s literally implied that meg CANNOT deny him, he literally owns her soul. It’s not a “small incentive” situation, it’s “do this and get your soul/life/freedom to make your own decisions back.” She tries to say she won’t do what he says one time, and he reminds her that he owns her, and so she eventually has to go along with him. If she denied Hades, he could literally just kill her/destroy her soul. If someone owns your soul, you don’t get the option to say “I don’t feel like listening to this person”, because dude, they own your soul, they can make you do whatever they want. Meg is very clearly not happy with her situation and is following Hades’ orders begrudgingly because she has no choice. She’s constantly making quippy remarks and shading Hades because she doesn’t actually want to be listening to him. She just literally does not have a choice, so she rebels in little ways with the little power she does have. It’s a huge part of her character.

9-11 in Roman numerals, lmfao
As a kid, this movie was my old brother’s favorite and I’ll Go The Distance was his favorite song. Meg was my favorite and her song was my favorite. Pretty sure I’ve seen Hercules a million times. Hercules, The Lion King, and The Beauty and The Beast were on repeat as a kid. So much so that the beginning of VHS of The Beauty and The Beast was damaged from watching it so much.
I watched this movie obsessivly when it came out cause I was in hospital that year
To your point about security; it’s because no one would ever dare go against Zeus.. and in Greek Mythology it wasnt Hades that led the fight against Zeus, it was Zeus’ own son Ares (Hercules’ brother). But in general no one ever dared attack Zeus so no need for security
Chuuzus Disney reaction! I won today!
Love this Chu! Always look forward to watching your videos. By the way, I highly recommend you get into the Matt Reeves’ Planet of the Apes trilogy. Soundtrack? Incredible. Acting and Motion Capture Animation? Incredible. Incredible films!! ❤

I need you to watch A little Princess from 1995. It’s such a classic and I know you will be cryinggggg.
I love this movie! The animation is unique, Meg is a goddess, the music is phenomenal and I can't help but love the Muses if they do the remake I hope they don't mess that up. if they take the Muses out I'm not watching it
