GENUINELY! Like I started on Wattpad when I was like 14, and that’s the same for a lot of my friends, and hearing people say that teenagers don’t act like this was the biggest load of bullshit I ever heard about this movie
@@one-onessadhalf3393 A lot of people who say that crap act like they were not teenagers at one time with hormones. They were probably the biggest pain in their parents ass.
Most people who are hating on this film just don’t get it. They’re mad at the “suggestive” themes and calling it a “kids movie”. Just because it’s Disney, does not mean it’s aimed at only kids. This film’s target audience is clearly for the girls who went through a typical, awkward teenhood. I also appreciate how realistic it is and they used the red panda as a metaphor for puberty.
It is a kids movie, but maybe not in a classical sense where it is a fantastical adventure devoid of bodily functions. The shines light on a lot of things that kids (especially young girls) will go through from age 10 and up and it's an amazing conversation starter. I do not get the people who don't want girls to know about periods and sexuality before it happens, because it will be the norm for the rest of their lives. Not to mention the horror when you first get your period, bleeding without knowing why is terrifying.
The whole Disney brand is a family brand, not just kids. There ARE going to be more mature themes. I mean In almost every Disney movie there’s a hidden adult joke. A family does consists of adults not just kids. I’m not sure what ppl don’t understand about that.
yeah !! i find it funny how some people (on social media) seem to think it's weird that he became a part of the group in the end. like i remember how when i was a kid, someone who teased me one day could be a friend the next week. kids just be like that hahah

the thing I like is that mei does have a good relationship with her mother, it does seem like they're as much friends as they are mother and daughter which is nice to see. And mei seems to love and appreciate her heritage and the temple, its very sweet to see
Me as well! I feel in many coming of age stories the character is either alienated from their family, or they suffer. So I am glad they can show a realistic, and healthy relationship. Growing up and growing apart from your parents doesn’t have to mean it’s the end or you hate eachother! And I’m glad they show that rift in the different generations, like how mei is closer to her mom than her mom and grandmother are. Also I’m so glad they allow her to appreciate her heritage; many shows have characters “revel” and completely abandon or hate where they come from- which can work- but many people grow up to still love their culture, religion or practices.
To think that some people are shitting on this movie because of "cheap" animation or cultural reasons, but I enjoyed every second of this movie. Makes me wish my teenage years were more enjoyable.
I can’t take them seriously because they the same ones praising Luca, that movie looked like claymation from 1992. They can have several seats with their opinion of what is good animation.

I have to admit that I really enjoyed the movie. It was weird and really out there, and that's what I liked about it. I really enjoy when animated projects that don't shy away from family problems, teenage drama or social issues. The characters, animation and voice acting were all done very well. They did a good job of showing how scary changing and growing up can be, but it happens for a reason. But like any other Disney movie, the problem is mostly resolved to quickly. Forgiving and moving on is important, but its not easy (like they make it seem in their movies). Ming did the exact same thing to Mei that her mother did to her - and she didn't see that? If nothing is ever going to be good enough, you shouldn't push a child to be perfect. Healing can happen...but it takes time. (Ming shouldn't need to apologize. She may have given her mother that scar, but it was Wu's controlling and overbearing nature that caused such an act.) People may call the portrayal of Chinese culture in this movie racist or stereotypical; but it isn't if its all fact. Most families of Asian cultures are very controlling and pass that toxic quirk to their children. Parents shouldn't push their desires onto their children, because than the children never get to live their own lives. If your kids rebel, its most likely because you're refusing to listen to them. If there's a sequel, I seriously hope that Disney doesn't tone down the problems and issues of growing up.
i only just realiseed this, but i think i know why Mei's mum is so much bigger than the others. The grandma said earlier that the more you use your panda, the stronger it will get. Near the end of the film, we see a younger version of Ming in what i like to call the 'Ritual Relm'. She's clearly very self-conscious and insecure about how she never felt good enough for her mother. Maybe she used her panda a lot to try and feel more comfortable as herself. And the more she used it, the stronger and more powerful her panda became.
Interesting, I took it as she didn’t try ti use it, and that she suppressed it, and lost control of the levels, and power. Especially since she hurt her mother when she was younger. It could go either way.
i adored your reaction! :D my heart soared every time you cheered for her happiness & her fighting to keep her true self. & i laughed when you sang along with the aunties at the end with such enthusiasm! :) thanks for your video!
I love this film. They should make a sequel. I think when Mei says that I'm scared it'll take me away from you, maybe another ancestor is the enemy of sun yee. He'd betray sun yee and captures red pandas and kills them offscreen. Say like sun yee defeated him but his soul is in the treasure chest and I think Mei would have found it in the temple and accidentally opened it and he's free. So I think Mei would have been his target and captured her. Ming, her grandmother, her aunties, and Mei's friends would have sacrificed their lives to save Mei. Then when her friends and family get injured or knocked out, its mei's turn for hers to turn big and invincible to defeat him and save the day.
A movie about friendship, pressure (by others and yourself), breaking generational trauma, and learning to love the things you can't control about yourself. THAT'S MY MOVIE, IT MAKES ME CRY AND IT MAKES MY HEART WARM AT THE SAME TIME
I enjoyed every moment of your reaction to this film. Your comments were hilarious in addition to being insightful and understanding both Mei and her mum's side. On a side note, I can't believe how many adults didn't get this film. It's *supposed* to have cringy moments - I mean it's about a 13 year old. We've all done silly things as kids and had crushes - it's absurd how people like to pretend like going through puberty is delightfully perfect. 🤦♀️
Omg yes i was wondering if you were going to react to this! I’m very much here for the Tyler slander😂 Your reactions definitely made me like this movie more ✨

The people who bash it, I am convinced, lack any critical thinking whatsoever. People are so narrow-minded, I swear. On another note, I am very happy with how they portrayed friendship in the movie! The group feels very realistic, I know my friend group used to be like that when we were young!
I thought it was pretty great. Not as amazing as Encanto but I think that’s due to the Lin Manuel Miranda music lol. The animation was cute. The Asian influences were spot on - from the parental pressure to the food to the number 4 (which means death and is therefore bad luck in Chinese culture). It’s a gorgeous film.
I stumbled across your channel a few days ago and have been binge watching your stuff. Love your humor and commentary! Turning Red is a coming of age story about puberty, changes, family, friendship that everyone can relate to. Family is such a strong theme in Asian culture and it can be hard for new gen Asian kids to discover themseleves due to pressure. I think some ppl disliked it because of the "cringe" puberty stuff incuding periods cause some people think kids shouldnt see that. But in reality its normalizing talking about changes and its okay.
This movie described my life experience completely almost everything that happened to mei happened to me. Actually what is really funny is that the whole scene where mei was trying to convince her mom to let her got to her first concert was exactly how it went for me except I got permission to go and it was to see bts lol.
A lot of the people who don't like this movie seem to not be able to relate to Mei Mei because she's a non-white girl lead character. Talk about a bunch of whiny babies. I really like this movie and your reaction was great!
Yesssss I'm here for this reaction😭😂I love chu's reactions to animations. Also this is day 3 of asking chu to watch bly manor 🤪 amazing video as always ❤❤
Actually, the Grandma saying "4 is the worst number" is not really meant to insult. It is rooted in many asian languages as a really unlucky number, with almost having the same pronounciation as "death". Where you sometimes don't find a 13th row on planes in the western hemisphere, it's possible you might not find a number 4 in an elevator in Asia. They will just spring right to 5.

Your video posted AND Zzavid posting Creep 2 made this otherwise crappy day a day that let me forget about the stressors for a bit and allowed me to escape in your fun videos again.
You had me cracking up laughing as always.
Btw I always watch your videos and Zzavid back to back because you are seriously my absolute favorites.
Thank you again for another fun filled video. You had me laughing and forgetting about the negative things and stressful things I have had to endure.
Thanks so much again as always for creating such uplifting content. It is something I seriously look forward to each week. ❤😸🙂😸❤
appreciate you so so much! 😭 🖤🖤
@@Chuuzus 🤗❤🤗 you are pure joy and kindness!
She may have given her mother that scar, but it was Wu's controlling and overbearing nature that caused such an act.)
People may call the portrayal of Chinese culture in this movie racist or stereotypical; but it isn't if its all fact.
This is relatable.....but I ended up making a friend feel the same way
i only just realiseed this, but i think i know why Mei's mum is so much bigger than the others.
“So Tyler is 💅” LMAOO ILY
This movie was so good, I loved it!
“Scared of your own mother? That’s crazy.”
My Taiwanese dad in everything lunar new year: “don’t tell grandma anything! Just listen until she’s done🤫”
“POWERPUFF PANDAS” i acc love you sm 😭😭
i adored your reaction! :D my heart soared every time you cheered for her happiness & her fighting to keep her true self. & i laughed when you sang along with the aunties at the end with such enthusiasm! :) thanks for your video!
I literally watched the movie an hour ago. I didn’t want to cry because it was just me and this other family in the theater 😂
damn I wish I could see this in theaters
Your enthusiasm for this entire movie was so fun to watch! Subscribed!!
I loved this reaction so much. When you said "Parents all need to calm down please!", I cheered aha! Yes!! I loved this movie.
AHHHHH i’m so happy you reacted to this!!! I can’t watch it yet cause I haven’t seen the movie 😩😩 but just know i’m coming back after I have!! lmao
love you and ready for your reaction! 🤪💃🏾💃🏾
I’m very much here for the Tyler slander😂 Your reactions definitely made me like this movie more ✨
Priya is my favorite, too - most reactors like Abby best and I get why, but Priya just exudes apathy in a way I adore.
you are such a fun reactor, i had so much fun watchign the movie with you LOL
and this movie hits home for me. and made me more emotional than i expected. total surprise.
Great video. I love how you said she just a teenager and is learning just like the teen girls in Euphoria. ❤️❤️❤️
Love your reaction brother and glad that you enjoyed it. It shows how good a movie is when a lot of people resonate with it.
”Eat him! Eat him!” Well, that would’ve been some Disney movie…😂😂😂
14:28 “something about going guys neutralizes the panda” basically having genuinely loving and supporting people
Around you makes all the difference
love any reaction you do whether it’s horror or cute animation movies 💜
🥺🖤

31:07 They way you said “this is so adorable” lol
this is one of those movies that deserves a show
*THOSE* people who didnt like this miss are NOT allowed anywhere near good film. Like, this movie had EVERYTHING. AND it had a good message and healthy friendships?? Def up there with Encanto and The Princess and The Frog as my favourite Disney movies.
As always, i loved your reaction!!!
I am SO ANGRY that I've never seen your channel & your reactions. I don't know why TH-cam doesn't include wonderful content like yours in its search results. Thankfully, I've discovered you--subbed
The people who bash it, I am convinced, lack any critical thinking whatsoever. People are so narrow-minded, I swear.
On another note, I am very happy with how they portrayed friendship in the movie! The group feels very realistic, I know my friend group used to be like that when we were young!
Mei: Besties, Assemble!
Me: Hey, That's Marvel's Line!
I like the fact you do different reaction videos 💕🇨🇦
WAIT. I need to watch and I’ll come back y’all
I thought it was pretty great.
26:37 Tyler's redemption story 💀😂🤣
10/10 would watch again. I think this was really well done and your reaction are hold they make me laugh and giggle and I want more lol ❤️❤️
"It will surely happen again." 😂😂😂 So true!
Powerpuff pandas!! 😂 Loved this movie.
This movie was so so so good. Thank you for sharing it with us Chuuzus!
Not him singing along and helping with the ritual lol
the scene with the Dad is my favorite!
23:30 I think that four in Chinese also sounds like death in Chinese so it's not a good number
I loved your reaction! Nice to find someone who enjoyed the movie as much as I did!
I screamed when you said Taeyoung was Jimin because I 100% thought that when I first saw him 😭
"Steal, steal from your mothers" 💀💀💀
Rihanna been reeeeeal quiet since Mei-Mei pulled up with the red bob lol
I’m CRYING
A lot of the people who don't like this movie seem to not be able to relate to Mei Mei because she's a non-white girl lead character. Talk about a bunch of whiny babies. I really like this movie and your reaction was great!
Yesssss I'm here for this reaction😭😂I love chu's reactions to animations. Also this is day 3 of asking chu to watch bly manor 🤪 amazing video as always ❤❤
don’t worry! it’s coming 💃🏾💃🏾
Loved your reaction!! The editing made me die with laughter 🤣❤️❤️
Please react to more animated movies 😂 this video was amazing and really made my day
I feel like people who hate this movie can’t relate to this because if you are POC you can definitely relate yourself to this movie.
29:05 Did you say "Powerpuff Pandas"? 😂
It was so funny 😂🤣🤣🤣
this movie is so relatable, except the mom realizing her mistakes and making the effort to change lol at least for me
YOU ARE MY Favorite Reactor to THIS!!!! 10s across the BOARD
i found it funny how when you read about the 4town members on their website, you see tht jesse has a kid lol
New subscriber!! Love your reaction! "STEAL! STEAL FROM YOUR MOTHERS" 😭
This movie looks so cute. Love your vids so much. I am still laughing about your midsummer review lol.
"who are those BTS? 🤨 THIS IS JIMIN" I SCREAMED 😭
im crying at this reaction, not you telling Mei Mei to eat tyler, LMAO
Actually, the Grandma saying "4 is the worst number" is not really meant to insult. It is rooted in many asian languages as a really unlucky number, with almost having the same pronounciation as "death". Where you sometimes don't find a 13th row on planes in the western hemisphere, it's possible you might not find a number 4 in an elevator in Asia. They will just spring right to 5.
I loveeeee youuu. Whooo said this was baddd. I loveeee this animation! It was adorable in every wayyy
this movie is amazing i cried so much!! im so glad you enjoyed the movie, the negative reviews are ridiculous
