thank you claire, southampton is my back up choice and i wasn’t crazy keen on it but after watching your video it made me a lot less worried about missing out on my first choice
Thanks for sharing your experience and giving out tips. Also it serves as inspiration for other. Wishing you all the best. I am also in the care industry. Although my channel is about music and gear as well as DIY stuff, i can relay to what you’re saying.
Thank you very much, Claire. Your video is really helpful for me. I am going to study at Southampton this September. I am a post grad international student.
Thank you sweet! My placements really good, just a pain getting all the way to Basingstoke haha! And also good luck to you too! 2nd years have just started placement again havnt they?
Got an offer from the university to do my post-grad in computer science and was looking for some information to make a decision, your video helped a lot! Thanks :)
Hey, Claire that was an awesome video, you shared some really good points about the uni and locality. can you please tell, what are the employment rates for the uni? and is it recognized by the employers? have a good day :)
Hi Claire and thanks for this video in September I'm going to study my master's degree in Computer Science at the Highfield Campus. However I love the social life go to the gym and go out to the city, if you could give me some tips would be the best thank you very much I loved your video
Hi Juan, the social life is great here there is lots of bars and clubs. There is also gyms attached to the university and solo gyms, so whichever you prefer:)
could you explain the accommodation a little more? Like what are the options for first year/second year? Do you need to take a bus to the university or is it viable to walk? Same thing for nightclubs. shops, gym etc, can I walk back to my accommodation?
Claire Quinn - Nursing Secrets i am interested in Studying Podiatry at Southampton do you anything about podiatry at Southampton or have you worked with current students who are studying Podiatry?
@@drejre6958 I dont know anyone I'm afraid, all what I know is it is a small course, I'm sure the Uni of Southampton website will have more information:)
I went to an open day today. I really liked it and could see myself going, but I want to study English and I’ve not seen anyone tell be about the English department. I’m local so it’s a convenient option, but I’m also considering Exeter. I’m worried I’ll feel isolated because the humanities campus is separate.
Molly Brown I was supposed to be working at the open day today and yesterday! Did you attend any English talks? I have friends who do English and they really enjoy it. Lots of courses are in avenue campus so I hope you won’t feel isolated, best of luck with your decision xx
Claire Quinn - Nursing Secrets yeah I did. That’s great thank you for the advice. How do you find the proximity between accommodation and the campus. Apparently the cheapest is quite far away. What has your experience been with both accommodation and social aspect relating to living in the town.
Thanks for the insight on Southhampton Claire! I'm living in Ireland and I have an interview (MNurs Adult & Child) for Southhampton this week. Could you please tell me what to expect on the interview day. Thank you!
hi Ci Ji, the main thing with the interview process as cliche as its sounds is to be yourself and try and keep calm. As far as I remember the english exam was pretty ok, people found the maths exam harder I would recommend going over basic maths for it. Other than that be yourself remember why you want to do nursing and show your passion. Im sure youll do great, let me know if you have any other questions xx
Hi! I would appreciate some advice: I'm applying to universities shortly for a Bsc in Economics and debating between Manchester and Southampton for the remaining slot I have. How are the industry connections in Southampton and what is your opinion on the prestige between the two?
Hi im trying to decide between both these universities as well for engineering, would be great to know what you ended up with and to know any feedback you have
@@Starboy21003 i'm also going through this problem between both universities for MSc marketing program where southampton offered me 9k scholarship :") but i think i'm going for Southampton since it also includes data studies. Oh well, i think my reply is pretty late hahahha
Hi! What’s the connection like between the Winchester School of Art campus and the rest of the university of Southampton, do you see many people from the Winchester campus/are they included in the ‘university of Southampton’ vibe?
Hello Claire excellent video thanks for all the info. When it comes to everyday studying how much time do you spend? Is there any available time for clubbing, sports and meeting with friends on a daily basis or there’s time only on weekends. Also does the city have any life past 11pm on weekdays?
Spiraras Danopoulos thank you so much for your feedback:) it depends if it’s exam season or not, I spend about 5 hours a week actively studying although my course is 50% practical which includes placement:) there is time to meet friends whenever you want depends what your timetable is like, what course are you doing? :))
Claire Quinn - Nursing Secrets okay thanks a lot! I have an offer for electrical and electronic engineering. I was just curious about the workload. I will probably have more studying cause we don’t have any placements but it sounds reasonable if I have 2-2:30 hours a day studying.
Spiraras Danopoulos no problem at all, ohh yes I know a lot of people doing engineering :)) they all work quite hard and long hours but still have plenty of time to party and meet friends, I hope this helps :))
hey , thanks for doing this because I struggled to find videos on this school. Do you think you could get a business student to give a review on your channel?
Thanks for this información! im starting an msc in diabetes on september! Is the medical campus near the general campus of Southampton ? Or is it in the same place? Thanks!!!
ooh well done, that sounds very interesting. The general hospital southampton has a library where the medical books are kept and it is about 40 mins walk from highfield campus ( the main uni campus). its only a 15 min cycle from the hospital to the main campus which i would highly recommend. Good luck with your masters xx
Thanks for the video. Thinking about going university of southampton this year. What accomodation do you think I should get (ensuite)? Thinking about mayflower but not sure!
David Rodriguez hey David, thanks so much for watching, there is pros and cons to both accomadations. I loved glen Eyre cause it was so close to uni and a great atmosphere. Mayflower is in the city centre and underneath a really nice gym. You’ll have to get buses everywhere if you go to mayflower but with the free bus pass that shouldn’t be a problem. Hope this helped you:))

Well done to anyone to anyone who has managed to get through any course at Southampton Uni. My experience of a post graduate course is that the staff are unsupportive, they are more concerned with their own needs ..the student drop out is huge...try somewhere else Plymouth is good or Cardiff... anywhere is better.
HI Claire i just wanted to know if you know some one who has moved to Southampton from Southampton Malaysia campus , if so what was there experience like :)
