Congratulations! Your relationship with your sisters is so precious! And coming from a younger sister who dealt with an older sibling moving away for uni, it has honestly been fine! We are closer than ever, and you end up being home a lot more than you imagine! Wish you all the best x
Immensely brave to put out this video and I know how many people this will touch and help. I have been through some very tough times with uni rejections but I started this year at the uni of Bath and I am loving it. Life’s about making the most of every opportunity, not the falls on the way.
Hey Jeta! I just want to tell you how much your raw reactions to the university decisions touched me. Also, I know moving out and leaving everything behind is tough. But this change will be worthwhile, and I wish you all the best. You’ve got this! You have shown remarkable resilience and determination by securing a place at the University of Bath. It’s a fantastic institution, and I truly believe that great things await you there.
Aww thank you so so much for your kind message, it really touched me! And I completely agree with you, moving out will be hard but incredibly rewarding at the same time too. I wish you all the very best too x
Bath is way better than UCL in terms of lifestyle & being a student. You’ll have a proper concentrated student community in an utterly fabulous place, rather than rattling around in a massive city where students live commutable all over London & it’s more of a dispersed student experience. Both are fabulous universities & both will give you unlimited possibilities for your future. Well done & good luck!!
Don’t listen to this Jeta. Bath is an incredibly boring place where most go to Bristol for any fun. All my friends are happy there but regret it and can’t wait to leave. The campus is on a huge hill and the nightlife is incredibly poor. Bath is a great uni. The city itself isn’t great for students at all
Bath also ranks higher than UCL, in ‘the complete university guide’, and ‘the Guardian university guide’. And the complete university guide is the most accurate source according to experts.
I was so worried about moving out last year and leaving my little sister, however you can always come back as much as you like. But honestly moving out was the best thing that’s ever happened to me, you grow so much and become your own person and it allows you to become independent. I think moving away is essential for the full uni experience, you will have the best time. Everything happens for a reason.
Thank you for sharing this, it really helps to know that others are/have been in the same boat as me. And yes I totally agree that moving out will allow me to grow in ways I wouldn’t if I stayed at home!
I got rejected from Edinburgh and Oxford after interviews but am now super happy with where I’m going and I think it’s turned out how it was meant to be 😊
Jeta, that takes soo much strength to share your complete raw reactions online. Moving out is really tough but you will meet sooo many people and will get the full experience of university. You have got this!
Moving out is going to enrich your life so much; you'll learn how to live on your own, how to face challenges on your own and you would know another a city! Honestly, I wish you the best and am happy for you!
hey, congratulations on your offer to bath!! I loved that this video actually showed real, raw reactions and it's great to see going into my last year of school! sending you all the luck and good vibes in the future
Thank you and yes I really wanted to just share all my reactions to both the good and bad news as that's just the reality of the university application process! Good luck with your last year of school too!
@@s6leh i made friends in the offer holder group chat and visited for three weekends in first year. i had a group of 15 people for reference. i also mentor and work for several social enterprises that help kids into Oxbridge.
Jeta, congratulations on your offer from Bath! I have also just finished year 13 and I totally relate to the unsettled feeling the university decision process and the general life changes at this stage can produce. Just try to remember that wherever you go you will settle in and adjust, everything happens for a reason and moving away from home may be just the thing you need even if it feels stressful now ❤❤❤
This is such a beautiful and raw video. There are far too many videos on the internet of people getting in everywhere and they make me feel awful. I got rejected from St Andrews (my dream school) and I really let it determine my worth. Bath is an AMAZING university, I hope you will have a great time xx
Aw thank you, yes that’s why I wanted to share it because I too have seen far too many videos with everything going perfectly well with uni applications when the reality is that the best case scenario rarely happens. I am sorry you got rejected from your dream Uni, it can be really hard to process but I wish you all the best for the future x
Dear Miss @@Jeta_, I'm about to watch and am SO JEALOUS already, wondering if you got in to UOL. That's where I want to go, but it has to wait until Master's because I'm international & have an 8 y/o. I did not learn international students cannot study undergrad in UK with a minor child until I was THISCLOSE to receiving an offer and was absolutely gutted. ANYWAY, thank you for sharing your journey!! It's similar to witnessing/experiencing a child grow up. Whilst I'm selfishly grateful you selflessly offered GCSE and general education free content thus far since I have £0/0p, I truly believe you should create a subscription option. I'm chuffed to bits for you! Yours sincerely, Tiffany Stevenson Dallas, TX
Im not going to uni this year but i really want to apply for Bristol university to study English lit. This will help me to work towards being an english teacher. This was such a raw and true video. Rejection is a big part of life you handled it so so well. I wish you the best of luck getting the grades you require. ❤
I wish you all the best with your plans and hope you get to where you want to be!! Thank you about the video, yes exactly as you said, rejection is always a possibility with anything we try and so I wanted to just show that it isn’t something to be ashamed of at all! And yes hopefully I get the grades as I’m so excited to go to Bath!!!
I was rejected from UCL and ended up at Nottingham instead. I was so upset at the time but it ended up being the best thing to happen to me!! I even ended up changing course last minute but everything works out as its supposed to, congratulations xx
You know what? Sometime it is fate . I accept by all university I apply , however I choose university of Ottawa . My top offer are from Yale and Pennsylvania university and even Cornell . However I choose university of ottawa . Now I never regret it . I even feel grateful for my decision.
I can imagine how difficult it must've been to have been rejected from universities but try to see it as "rejection is redirection". I too was rejected from universties like Oxford but I am sm happier with my firm choice which is Bath too! I hope ur A-Levels went well and hopefully I'll get to meet u in Bath too :)
I moved away from uni and I was also worried about leaving my family and friends behind but once you are there, the worry will go. You should be proud of how far you have come, and the change will be so worth it. Well done Jeta!!
I applied to the same places (bar Oxford) for psychology and also got rejected from Kings and UCL, so my choices are the same as yours :) maybe see you there!
Well done for posting a video which isnt just all “ooh I got into Harvard/Oxford/Yale” which a lot of YT applications videos are! You are giving a much more typical and real experience and it is so much more valuable for your viewers because of it. You will have a fantastic time at Bath(and it’s not that far from London in reality!)
I'm glad you found the video valuable for that reason! When I decided to share my reactions I just filmed everything, not knowing whether it would be good or bad, but that was the point, it was just my journey whatever the outcome. And yes I am SO excited for Bath!
Ahhh Jeta!! Firstly, rejections are so hard - it was sad to watch you upset, and I’m sorry about the Oxford, KCL and UCL ones, it can feel really disheartening. 😢However, it’s so admirable how you dealt with it, you were so graceful and were able to see positives which is so inspiring. 💜But also, it’s so incredibly brave to share a video like this where you show your true feelings and the results, no matter whether they’re positive or negative! I watched this with a friend actually and she was so amazed at how well you took it :)) I can’t even imagine how nervous you must have felt so you should be proud x Secondly, A MASSIVE CONGRATSSS! I genuinely got so excited for you when you got into Bath and I remember you saying last year how you loved the idea of going there so I’m so happy for you that you got a place, you really deserve it. Moving away from home is so scary, but I’m hopeful you’ll have an amazing time there. Cannot believe this is going to be me in a few months too! 😅 Hope you’re having a lovely summer off so far, sorry for the very long message! xx
Aww this is so so nice of you to say! The more time that has past since all those rejections, the less emotional reaction I have towards them, I genuinely am so excited for Bath that I am almost glad that the other uni's rejections guided me to go there! But yes I was SO nervous before each decision, my whole body was literally shaking in those clips but it's hard to tell. But THANK YOU and YES I feel like it will be such a great experience to move out. I hope you have an amazing last few weeks of year 12 too and hope all your mock results are what you want and deserve x Ahhh honestly it's really sad to leave the school because I have been there for so long and I will definitely miss the security of it but I suppose change is good even if its hard. Gosh this is so random but I just realised idk if I will see you at school tomorrow (if you are helping out at strawberries and cream/garden party thing)? Anyway it is so weird that tomorrow will be my last day at school ever!! crazy!
Yess exactly I think time definitely helps to let everything sink in and get put into perspective, and as cliche as it sounds everything happens for a reason!! And yesss so exciting :) Omggg I can imagine, I would be SHAKKINGG so much! 😅😅 You’re so welcome, and thank you so so much
just wanted to say, my twin sisters are 11 years younger than me and i am definitely a parent to them. i was anxious too about leaving home and leaving them behind. i felt really guilty. they’ve both coped brilliantly, when i visit home we spend quality time together. so im confident it will be the same for you😊congratulations on getting into bath!!
Bath has a really good psychology department well done! Im hoping to be going to bath this october if I hit my offer for Politics & International Relations its such a nice uni. Also the EPQ dropping the offer by one is really nice because now I only need AAB instead of AAA which is a huge difference I’ve been predicted an A* for mine so it gives some form of safety from external moderation it was such a worthwhile project now.
Bath is a great uni, did my undergrad there ten years ago. Bath will teach you great skills plus you'll be way more employable coming from Bath. You'll also be competitive for postgraduate studies. I'm just finishing my MSc at Oxford, I'm sure Bath really helped my application for sure. Good luck with it all.
I completely understand how difficult it is to accept moving away from home!💗 I moved 4 hours away to Bangor Uni in Wales and it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done but hands down the best decision I’ve ever made also! I’ve grown so much in confidence and I’ve just graduated - now waiting to start my masters there too. You’ll love uni and congrats on your offers!!🥰🥳💗
Hey Jeta, I'm very late to this but just wanted to say again how again proud I am of you and I'm soooo excited for you. I know it's going to be hard leaving home but at the same time, you'll be so much more independent and learn to be reliant on yourself. If it's any consolation, I probably would have liked to move out if it were not for my circumstances; bath was actually one of my dream uni's! However I am very content with where I ended up and the way my life turned out because of it, so I am confident that this fate will also be your destiny! Congratulations on getting into one of the most prestigious universities in the UK! I love you xx P.s. I can't wait for you to experience your first day at uni, there's nothing like it!
I just loved your honesty in this video… I'll be applying to uk universities this year, but the process is really scary for me because I'm French and I've lived in France for all my life. Also, I keep doubting of my capacities, I don't know if I can do it, if I'm good enough in english to do it… So yeah. Your video just made me want to say all this here ^^ Congrats for Bath !
Thank you and good luck for your uni applications! Try not to doubt yourself, as hard as it is, because if anyone should believe in you it should be yourself (and by the way your english is definitely good enough from your message!) I wish you all the best x
Hi Jeta! Congratulations for your acceptances! 🎉 Your video gives me so much more confidence to apply to these universities after my A-levels this year. 🙂
hey Jeta, as a younger sister, let me share something, i am at uni myself currently, and my sister is pursing her masters. While i enjoy our time as we apperciate it more as both of us being busy, it allowed me to learn the fact, my sister is her own indivual person who had to grow up to be her own person, and when we spent time together we have more to discuss about our lives, while your sisters are gonna miss you badly, they will get inspiration from you to chase after what they want.
Thank you so much for sharing your perspective it means a lot and makes me feel a lot better :) And I completely agree I think in the long term it will be a healthy change!
Ahh such a nice vid! I’m a UCL student and was rooting for you there- so sorry about their decision! It’s definitely not an easy process and it’s annoying because they’re very vague in their responses. But Bath is definitely a solid choice (I wish I applied there now looking back) and I wish you the best of luck with your future studies! All the best!
That feeling of handling rejection so much does make it feel all "ok" in the end. But I would recommend trying out interships etc. until you find that one person who vibes with your career goals, and give you the appreciation for the best work you give. I met my boss who encouraged me and said I had a great future ahead, even when I didn't feel like that. But hey ... someone at UCL identified with my career plans, and talents and gave me an offer (for my post-grad)!
To my mind, moving away from your home town is part of the going-to-uni deal. Bath is a fabulous destination: Psy-high, ranked higher than almost all of the Russells, heritage city that isn’t overwhelming, just 20 mins from bigger Bristol on public transport AND still just two hours from London by train. What’s not to like? Congratulations! And thanks for sharing.
Hey so sorry to hear about UCL! If It makes it any better at UCL our courses are literally tinnyyy like on mine there's like max 100 people but so many applicants all over the world, so it's basically a complete bloodbath. Even applicants who are super talented like u get overlooked just because of this. Please don't be demoralised as bath is an incredible uni and I'm sure you're going to absolutely love it there
I got rejected from Cambridge and have just finished my first year at Bath. I was devastated but now so thankful Cambridge rejected me, I've had the best year of my life at Bath, you'll love it. Could speak about my first year for hours so if you have any questions feel free to message x
I am so glad you had such a great time at Bath! Thank you so much for the offer though, that is very kind of you, I'll be sure to message if something comes up x
Hi darling , I’m so happy for you , I’m doing a level for medical , I want to apply for bath university, did you think bath is good university for medical ?
Hey Jeta, congratulations on your offer from Bath and I wish you all the best for the future. I'm currently a Psychology student at Cardiff and I moved pretty far as I live in Essex. I'm not going to lie because I had a rough start to uni in 2021 because we didn't have face-to-face lectures and about 6 of my 11 housemates weren't very accommodating so I was in a pretty low state for the majority of the first term. However, the uni was very understanding when I voiced my concerns, and helped me move into a different accommodation really easily (I just wish that I had spoken up sooner but what's done is done). I just wanted to let you know that if Bath (or any other uni) is anything like Cardiff, they will be there for you if you voice your worries, just don't be too shy. Having just completed my 2nd year and joined another society, I had such an enjoyable experience both in my academics and socially. I wanted to comment on your post because I had worries about moving away, and as an older sister to a brother who is most likely going to Bath this year, I'm nervous about him moving away too. But I am pretty certain you will find people you will click with and my one piece of advice is to just try to have fun because I overthought everything and in reality, it didn't really matter. xx
I’ve just finished my first year studying at the university of bath and it’s so amazing there the campus is amazing and the city is really nice place to call your second home I’m sure you’ll love it
Firstly, I love you outfits. Secondly, I will be going to Leeds Beckett to study Performing Arts. I originally had my heart set on York, but I was rejected after an interview. I had already been accepted to Hull before then, but I felt their course was too focused on theatre and the acting aspect rather than additional directing and writing skills. However, I've been rethinking my decision a lot, as, now that I think about it, Hull's course does have a lot of what I wanted, such as costume and set design, whereas Leeds Beckett is quite performance-based. I chose Leeds Beckett because, out of the two, it had a module dedicated to screen acting. The area also just felt right and magical. I'm seriously hoping I've made the right choice.
Hiya lovely, I was in the exact same situation as you, stuck between UCL and bath and UCL rejected me as well 🥲 wishing you the best of luck and congratulations on getting into Bath and Southampton 🥳🥳🥳
Hiii Jeta :) I just found your channel from this video and I need to commend you on your fantastic attitude! I moved out for uni in Sept and it's crazy to think how many people I've met since then that I didn't even know this time last year. I really believe that everyone ends up where they *need* to be, just take everything as it comes and best of luck!!
Congratulations! I know it is going to be a big change and a challenge but I am certain you will love it and you will only be there about 7 months a year and will be home plenty of time. Plus, your sisters can visit you and escape from home for a while.
Bath is also my firm, I guess I'll see you there if things go to plan ":) It's a really beautiful place, and the only city in the UK to be an entire world heritage site
Thanks for sharing! I was having the same stressful journey. I was so stressed waiting for the decisions to come. My last uni decision (also my top choice) came out on 13th May and one day later I realised it was for 2024 entry because they don't have space. Dealt with them for another month and the offer got updated for 2023 entry on 10th June. In fact the whole process was stretched through my public exams and I was panicking and distracted from studying because of this. But at least now I got my top choice and im going there :) really hoped they pushed the deadlines earlier so us students don't get overstressed though
Oh I am so sorry that happened to you, it sounds incredibly stressful and I totally agree they should make the deadlines earlier for the universities! I'm glad in the end it all worked out - wishing you all the best for the future!
i understand how sad will be if you get rejected . I was waitlisted by my dream school( eventually I get in in late May) I was even hurt just by waitlisted and get depression. However the first school offered me the place is university of ottawa at the time I didn’t have a 12th grade grade and none of uni showed up for me but they did . I am now fourth year and almost graduating from school. I can tell you this is the décision that I never ever will regret. You know sometime just believe in fate . Maybe you are meaning to be into one university not other . Just relax lol congratulation though
Hey! Are you planning on doing an A-Level results day reaction video? I have just recently found your channel and am interested in your uni journey as I'm also going to uni this September for psychology! Also congrats on your offers!
just finished my first year at bath studying psych, would be more than happy to tell you more about the course, accommodation, and uni life at bath (i’m an international student) if you have any questions!
Ah that’s so kind of you to offer! Mm I suppose I would like to ask which module was your favourite in first year? Also a quick specific question about how much joining a sports society (like any self defence sport society) costs?? If you know :)) I hope you are enjoying your time there though!
@@Jeta_ of the mandatory classes i would definitely say mind & behavior was the most interesting course, it was like an extension of IB biology and psychology together and the delivery was very engaging. for optional electives, i took organizational behavior (school of business), and psychology of well-being, and both would be my favorite modules i took this year because of the real-world applications they provided. OB broke down how business and teams are built and work while PoWB allowed me to reflect on my own mental and emotional health and explained a variety of aspects that contribute to one’s wellbeing thoroughly. Regarding sport societies, club memberships usually cost around £10 for the year, in addition to £30 for the SU Sport Membership. If you plan on joining any other competitive teams you’ll only need to pay their club membership, and if competitions at BUCS level, the BUCS fee (which i think is around £70, but don’t quote me on that). If you have any more question please don’t hesitate to reach out on Instagram, my account is alisaxfridman :)
Loved this video! I am applying to Bath (top choice) and Southampton this year for psychology, I would love if you could make a video on your application and what you think helped you (personal statement is stressing me out!!) Congrats x
Ahh good luck with your application! And yes I will definitely make something like that as soon as possible as quite a few people have requested it too x
Hey, I can really understand how you feel about moving away from your family because I have been in the same place almost a year ago. I really didn't want to leave home at all and was super sad that the uni nearby didn't offer the major / subject I wanted to do anymore ( a year before they still had it but when it was time for me to apply they suddenly didn't have it anymore). I had to apply to other unis further away and did so to some that were further and one that was closer (45 minutes from home on highway). Obviously the one closer was one where I had to get accepted and I was so happy when the letter came that I did get accepted but then suddenly everything went so fast. I quickly found a flat to stay near uni and planned to move in over the course of a few weeks but then it suddenly was only within a few days because a big construction side that was going to start right infront of the building so there would be no car access... Suddenly I was all alone in my own small appartment, with train an hour and half (stupid waiting times) away from home and had to take care of everything my own. It was really overwhelming and I was homesick in the first few weeks but then when uni started it was all so busy that I didn't really think of it anymore and I was concent with visiting my family every weekend or every other weekend when I needed more time to work on weekly assignments or when something was planned with people here. After a quarter of the semester I started to only visit my parents once a month most of the time and obviously through the vacations because I got a boyfriend and we were doing things together, visiting his parents, etc. Looking back at it I think I have really grown in the past year and it helped a lot move out from home. Suddenly you were able to eat whenever you got hungry, but you also had to make your own food, but that made it possible to decide what you wanted to eat. There are so many ups and downs but in the end I think there are more ups. It really helped me grow, manage my own time and also made me appreciate my time with my family even more because it got rarer. I think it is a really good way for the time between school where you fully live with your parents and work where you likely will live alone as well and are completely thrown into life. When you're in Uni you can usually gather enough spare time in the weekend to visit your family often enough to stay connected to them but you will also get eased into life because in uni so much stuff happens and you do so much with other people that you don't think a lot about being alone, because most of the time you aren't. Sorry for this really long comment but I thought it might help you a bit to hear of other perspectives from people that were in the same situation as you are now ^^ And one last thing: I think being unsure about living on your own and not wanting it is normal, and in my opinion should be the case because that shows that you have a loving family around you. But that also says that they will support you, will help you to get through this time in the beginning where it is harder to be away most of the time and then the time where you start liking living on your own starts and you will still look forward to see your family and will still be a bit sad to leave them but when you are in your own appartment, dorm or whatever again, you can call it your second home and you will start to feel being at home again. Never the true at home, but another kind of at home that puts you at ease as well. I hope this helps and now I'll actually end this comment, sorry!! xD
Thank you so much for taking the time and care to share your own experience. I completely agree with you and I know that as time goes on I will definitely enjoy the independence that living alone has. I am honestly very excited to move out now (but obviously it is still a big change and my initial reaction was one of panic which just took a bit of time to process). Wishing you all the best for the future x
Hi Jeta!! Hope you’re well! I just had a quick question to ask - I was wondering if you’d be able to do a full video regarding things such as personal statement, preparing for admissions test, recommended supercurriculars etc, if that makes sense :) it would be so so helpful! x
Good luck to you in Bath. Rejections are brutal, but ultimately, you will be at the Uni where you are meant to go. The "right" university is the one that accepts you, where you liked the campus/program, and where you see yourself going. My son attends his dream school but still -- when he was rejected from another school he thought about going to it wasn't very pleasant. The acceptance into his dream school was a sign that he was meant to go there and nowhere else. No more doubt or hesitation. He likes that it is a distance from home because, during the breaks, it makes coming back home all the sweeter. Wish you the best in Bath! You will be great! My son visited Bath recently on a day trip with family -- lovely area!
Hi Jeta, I got rejected by UCL as well, for English Lit, and it hurt. But equally when I went for the interview, I didn't find the college at all welcoming in its general atmosphere, plus the lecturers who interviewed me were not particularly nice, and made me feel like a very stupid person by focusing on what I didn't know, rather than discussing anything I did know. I was relieved to get out of the place, I'm sure I wouldn't have wanted to go there, and yet the rejection really stung. I also had to leave London in the end for Uni, but actually for different (family) reasons. Anyway I know how you feel, and I hope you feel a little better about it now. By the way, Bath's *conditional* offer is really harsh, well for me, I 'd be very intimidated by that. But you seem confident that you will get those grades and I feel like you will get them. In my case, when August came around, I did *not* get the grades I needed to get in anywhere I wanted to go. I took a year out and stayed in London while one of my A levels was remarked. I knew deep down that I'd done a bad job on my English A level, but either way I was going to fight for a higher grade and I got it. Then I was able to reapply to Unis for the following year. Please know that whatever happens there are options such as taking that year out, and especially as you're close to your sisters I'm sure they'd love that.
Hiya, I'm in year 12 and I'm applying to study psychology at uni as well. Bath is like the dream uni for me and I was wondering if you had any tips personal statement wise that you think could be useful to help me get in as well? Also, are you doing the placement year? Congrats on getting into Bath that's such an achievement! I hope you have the best time there xx
Thank you! And good luck with applying, I wish you all the very best! No I am not doing a placement year, I decided to just do the three year degree. Regarding personal statement tips I would say try to be as concise as possible so that you can say as much as possible and make sure to lead with what you have done/read to show your passion for the subject rather than simply stating it. Out of interest though would you want to see a personal statement tips video where I can go into more detail about my advice??
Ngl I didn’t realise so many uk unis gave out rejections. Idk I had crap a level results and got conditional offers but then I didn’t apply to any of the high up unis
Mine were A*AA and I took the subjects Psychology, English Literature and History - just to hear in mind I think a big part of my rejections were not because of my grades but the subjects I took e.g I probably should have taken another science subject or maths as some unis prefer this to essay subjects (but not the case with Bath for example)
Sorry, I’m an American. What do you mean when certain schools offered you AAA and it was reduced? Our university system is very different so I’m just curious! Thank you! :)
So the original offer for Bath was A*AA grades in my three A Level subjects BUT because I got an A in my EPQ (extended project qualification - which is basically a long academic essay which is an extra half subject essentially, on top of the 3 a levels I already did) they reduced my offer to AAA grades instead. I hope that makes sense! x
As long as you have equivalent qualifications/grades to GCSEs then yes I think you can study A Levels but I would double check online! BUT good luck with your dream! I am sure you can achieve it x
Hi I’m from Japan but I’m in lower 6th in the UK. Does the number of subjects matter when applying to Oxford ? Is it okay to have 3 subjects? Should it be 4?
I have got 3 options for ms in computer science: ucl, university of edinburgh, university of manchester.please rank them according to tech study so that i can have better idea
MODERN EDUCATION IS CREATING PEOPLE SMART ENOUGH TO REPEAT WHAT THEY’VE BEEN TOLD & FOLLOW ORDERS AND DUMB ENOUGH TO THINK THIS MAKES THEM SMARTER THAN EVERYONE ELSE
Hii and congratulations omg Bath is such a huge achievement!! By any chance could you tell me what exactly the reason King’s gave for a rejection bc i plan on applying next year for economics and honestly your strong academic report makes me feel so anxious 😭
Thank you! So I am pretty sure the reason Kings and UCL rejected me had nothing to do with my grades and everything to do with the A levels I took. They both say on the requirements page that for a psychology degree they PREFER if you take 2 science subjects for a levels (although they only REQUIRE 1 science as the minimum) and I took Psychology, English and History - so only 1 science subject. I couldn’t change my subjects at this point so I took the risk and applied anyway. Please don’t let my rejections put you off though, just apply! Wishing you all the best for the application and hope the outcome is what you want!!
Congratulations! Your relationship with your sisters is so precious! And coming from a younger sister who dealt with an older sibling moving away for uni, it has honestly been fine! We are closer than ever, and you end up being home a lot more than you imagine! Wish you all the best x
Aww thank you, that’s really nice to hear from the perspective of a younger sibling! x
Depends on ur preference between busy lifestyle and the country cuz I personally prefer bustling cities over the country
Don’t listen to this Jeta. Bath is an incredibly boring place where most go to Bristol for any fun. All my friends are happy there but regret it and can’t wait to leave. The campus is on a huge hill and the nightlife is incredibly poor.
Bath is a great uni. The city itself isn’t great for students at all
@@Symplastmailwhy on Earth would this be a nice thing to say?
UCL? Uefa Champions League?
Bath also ranks higher than UCL, in ‘the complete university guide’, and ‘the Guardian university guide’. And the complete university guide is the most accurate source according to experts.
I was so worried about moving out last year and leaving my little sister, however you can always come back as much as you like. But honestly moving out was the best thing that’s ever happened to me, you grow so much and become your own person and it allows you to become independent. I think moving away is essential for the full uni experience, you will have the best time. Everything happens for a reason.
Thank you for sharing this, it really helps to know that others are/have been in the same boat as me. And yes I totally agree that moving out will allow me to grow in ways I wouldn’t if I stayed at home!
it was rly special that you shared your vulnerability, good luck with uni hun xx
I got rejected from Edinburgh and Oxford after interviews but am now super happy with where I’m going and I think it’s turned out how it was meant to be 😊
🎉
Yay! I am so so happy for you!!
Hi where are u going
Where are you going?
Jeta, that takes soo much strength to share your complete raw reactions online.
Moving out is really tough but you will meet sooo many people and will get the full experience of university. You have got this!
Aw thank you! This means so much xx
Moving out is going to enrich your life so much; you'll learn how to live on your own, how to face challenges on your own and you would know another a city! Honestly, I wish you the best and am happy for you!
Exactly! I’ll finish the degree with more than just academic knowledge but life knowledge too!
Thank you so much x
Your families reactions are so cute
I know 🥹
that’s so true 🥺
hey, congratulations on your offer to bath!!
I rejected Cambridge for Southampton, best decision of my life.
I think that is an incredibly brave thing to do; being that honest with oneself! I am so happy for you!
how do u know it's the best decision if u haven't been Cambridge ☠️☠️
@@s6leh i made friends in the offer holder group chat and visited for three weekends in first year. i had a group of 15 people for reference. i also mentor and work for several social enterprises that help kids into Oxbridge.
It’s not good university???
What was the reason you did this if you don’t mind asking?
Jeta, congratulations on your offer from Bath! I have also just finished year 13 and I totally relate to the unsettled feeling the university decision process and the general life changes at this stage can produce. Just try to remember that wherever you go you will settle in and adjust, everything happens for a reason and moving away from home may be just the thing you need even if it feels stressful now ❤❤❤
Thank you! And yes definitely, I think moving out will be very good for me in many different ways despite it being difficult.
I am sorry you got rejected from your dream Uni, it can be really hard to process but I wish you all the best for the future x
congrats on the unis you got into! i’m so happy for you :)
Thank you!!
Dear Miss @@Jeta_,
I'm about to watch and am SO JEALOUS already, wondering if you got in to UOL.
Yours sincerely,
Tiffany Stevenson

Good luck
I was rejected from UCL and ended up at Nottingham instead. I was so upset at the time but it ended up being the best thing to happen to me!! I even ended up changing course last minute but everything works out as its supposed to, congratulations xx
So so happy for you! I discovered your channel as you entered sixth form and now you've applied for uni. Congrats Jeta!!
With love,
Riley. x
The time has honestly gone so so fast!
@@Jeta_ It really has! I'm almost a year 11?!!
You know what? Sometime it is fate . I accept by all university I apply , however I choose university of Ottawa . My top offer are from Yale and Pennsylvania university and even Cornell . However I choose university of ottawa . Now I never regret it . I even feel grateful for my decision.
Nice video. Very useful for helping understand more about the British Uni system.
So happy for you Jeta!!!
Don't feel sorry for the rejection bcz it's always will be there with us in any moment of our life.
Thank youuu!
Exactly, rejection is just part of life and it just means there are better things out there for you!
I also firmed bath for psychology starting in september!! so exciting :))
Ahhh very exciting! Maybe I’ll see you there!
Ahh well done for getting into Bath too and yes maybe I’ll see you there!
I moved away from uni and I was also worried about leaving my family and friends behind but once you are there, the worry will go. You should be proud of how far you have come, and the change will be so worth it. Well done Jeta!!
Thank you!
I applied to the same places (bar Oxford) for psychology and also got rejected from Kings and UCL, so my choices are the same as yours :) maybe see you there!
I’m sorry you also got rejected from those unis but WELL DONE for getting into Bath! And yes maybe I’ll see you there x
Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉❤
Thank you!! ☺️
I watched this with a friend actually and she was so amazed at how well you took it :)) I can’t even imagine how nervous you must have felt so you should be proud x
Secondly, A MASSIVE CONGRATSSS! 😅
Hope you’re having a lovely summer off so far, sorry for the very long message!
I hope you have an amazing last few weeks of year 12 too and hope all your mock results are what you want and deserve x
Ahhh honestly it's really sad to leave the school because I have been there for so long and I will definitely miss the security of it but I suppose change is good even if its hard.
😅😅 You’re so welcome, and thank you so so much
Hi Jeta, congrats for getting into Bath! I hope you’re doing well, the rejections must have been difficult. Best of luck for the future ❤
Thank you!! Good luck with everything too and I hope your uni applications go smoothly!
just wanted to say, my twin sisters are 11 years younger than me and i am definitely a parent to them. i was anxious too about leaving home and leaving them behind. i felt really guilty. they’ve both coped brilliantly, when i visit home we spend quality time together. so im confident it will be the same for you😊congratulations on getting into bath!!
thank you for sharing that and yes i'm hoping that with time it will be much easier!
Yes it really is thank you. And well done on your offer too!! But yes the EPQ can be so so helpful for things like this!
Thank you and good luck with everything too!! Getting into Oxford is amazing btw, well done!
I went to Bangor and it was the best decision I made! Congrats on graduating, I left 4 years ago and still miss it so much (also RIP Cube)
I love you xx
P.s. I can't wait for you to experience your first day at uni, there's nothing like it!
You are sooo brave to show your reactions of rejections on Camera !! ✨
I just loved your honesty in this video… I'll be applying to uk universities this year, but the process is really scary for me because I'm French and I've lived in France for all my life. Also, I keep doubting of my capacities, I don't know if I can do it, if I'm good enough in english to do it…
So yeah. Your video just made me want to say all this here ^^
Congrats for Bath !
Thank youuu and I am so glad that it's inspired you to apply too, good luck with everything!!
You are welcome. Oh I am glad that this made you happy to hear. Thank you so much and wish you good luck for everything coming up in your life too!🙂
hey Jeta, as a younger sister, let me share something, i am at uni myself currently, and my sister is pursing her masters. While
i enjoy our time as we apperciate it more as both of us being busy, it allowed me to learn the fact, my sister is her own indivual person who had to grow up to be her own person, and when we spent time together we have more to discuss about our lives, while your sisters are gonna miss you badly, they will get inspiration from you to chase after what they want.
Thank you so much for sharing your perspective it means a lot and makes me feel a lot better :)
And I completely agree I think in the long term it will be a healthy change!
Aw thank you that is very kind! I wish you all the best with the future too!
Hey Jeta, had a similar experience and got offered by Bath. Joining this September. Congratulations and hope to see you around❤
Well done for your offer! Hopefully all goes well for us on results day!
Omggg congratulations Jeta, I got into Bath as well and I have a place confirmed too. Hopefully I'll see you there (:
Ahh well done too! That’s amazing and yeah might see you there :))
I would 100% speak to both unis as soon as possible to discuss support and facilitates of possible …. Congratulations!
Please don't be demoralised as bath is an incredible uni and I'm sure you're going to absolutely love it there
Omg well done on getting into bath !
Thank you!
I'm so proud of you, well dome
Thank you!!
so proud of you my darling xxxx
Thank you Ebbi, that means the world xxx
But I am pretty certain you will find people you will click with and my one piece of advice is to just try to have fun because I overthought everything and in reality, it didn't really matter. xx
I’ve just finished my first year studying at the university of bath and it’s so amazing there the campus is amazing and the city is really nice place to call your second home I’m sure you’ll love it
Ah I am so glad you really enjoyed your time there! I am so excited to hopefully join!!
I also applied to Bath and Southampton for psychology! And i have firmed Bath! Congratulations on your offer!
Congratulations to you too!!
Good luck with your course!! I am sure everything will work out and made the right choice! x
we’re in the same yearrr congrats luv💗
Thank you! I hope all went well for you too!
Hiya lovely, I was in the exact same situation as you, stuck between UCL and bath and UCL rejected me as well 🥲 wishing you the best of luck and congratulations on getting into Bath and Southampton 🥳🥳🥳
Oh I’m sorry that you were also in that position and thank you!
Wishing you all the best for the future x
Congratulations, you did really well 👏 ❤️
Thank you!
Congratulations! So happy for you ✨
Thank you!!
Congratulations lovely. It is such a hard time to go through. Both Amazing places to get accepted to. Well done this is a huge accomplishment x
Thank you!
Congrats on your offers! I've firmed Bath for psychology this year too :) best of luck with your A-level results !!
Ahh well done too!
I really want to go to Southampton!! To study geography.. the opening day was amazing
Aw thank you that means a lot and yes I will definitely just take each thing as it comes x
Yoo congrats on bath I’m also going there september this year hope to see you there!
Well done too!! and yep maybe i'll see you there :)
Congratulations!
I know it is going to be a big change and a challenge but I am certain you will love it and you will only be there about 7 months a year and will be home plenty of time. Plus, your sisters can visit you and escape from home for a while.
Thank youuu! And yes definitely, it’s not the whole year and I will be able to visit home loads!
Bath is also my firm, I guess I'll see you there if things go to plan ":) It's a really beautiful place, and the only city in the UK to be an entire world heritage site
Congrats too! and yes hopefully everything goes to plan for us on results day!
Congrats!!🤍
thanks!
I'm glad in the end it all worked out - wishing you all the best for the future!
well done! my friend Temi is also going to bath for psych & she keeps hyping it up lol
congratulations
Well done
i understand how sad will be if you get rejected . Just relax lol congratulation though
congratulations 🎉
Thank you!
congrats 🎉🎉
Hey! Are you planning on doing an A-Level results day reaction video? I have just recently found your channel and am interested in your uni journey as I'm also going to uni this September for psychology! Also congrats on your offers!
Yes I am planning to do an A-Level results day reaction video :)) and thank you!! Wish you all the best for the future x
just finished my first year at bath studying psych, would be more than happy to tell you more about the course, accommodation, and uni life at bath (i’m an international student) if you have any questions!
Ah that’s so kind of you to offer! Mm I suppose I would like to ask which module was your favourite in first year? Also a quick specific question about how much joining a sports society (like any self defence sport society) costs?? If you know :))
I hope you are enjoying your time there though!

Yep of course - I actually already have that video planned (it will be up sometime in august x)
Congrats Jeta! Just wondering, do you have a video on your Channel about your GCSE results? thanks xx
Yep she does x
Yep I do: th-cam.com/video/l8aa5APlyX8/w-d-xo.html
Loved this video! I am applying to Bath (top choice) and Southampton this year for psychology, I would love if you could make a video on your application and what you think helped you (personal statement is stressing me out!!) Congrats x
Ahh good luck with your application! And yes I will definitely make something like that as soon as possible as quite a few people have requested it too x
Hey, I study psychology @ bath and am going into third year in October. If you have any questions/anything you want to talk about please lmk!
😊 great
Hi Jeta!! Hope you’re well! I just had a quick question to ask - I was wondering if you’d be able to do a full video regarding things such as personal statement, preparing for admissions test, recommended supercurriculars etc, if that makes sense :) it would be so so helpful! x
Hi, yes someone else also requested something like this and so I’ll definitely try and do this as soon as I can! Thank you for letting me know x
@@Jeta_ Thank you so much, looking forward to it :) You’re welcome
I got rejected by MSc Psychological Science from UCL today,it’s sad.Just sad.
My son visited Bath recently on a day trip with family -- lovely area!
i had such a hard decision choosing between ucl and bath. I firmed bath
@@Jeta_ Thank you so much! That's so helpful and yes please a video on personal statement advice would be so helpful! :)

Ngl I didn’t realise so many uk unis gave out rejections. Idk I had crap a level results and got conditional offers but then I didn’t apply to any of the high up unis
what were your predicted grades? just looking at where i want to apply for my psychology and wanna know what i need xx
Hey love your videos, just wondered what grades you applied with to these universities (GCSE’s and predicted a-levels) thank you x
Hey! Can I know why Kings was your last choice??
Sorry, I’m an American. What do you mean when certain schools offered you AAA and it was reduced? Our university system is very different so I’m just curious! Thank you! :)
So the original offer for Bath was A*AA grades in my three A Level subjects BUT because I got an A in my EPQ (extended project qualification - which is basically a long academic essay which is an extra half subject essentially, on top of the 3 a levels I already did) they reduced my offer to AAA grades instead. I hope that makes sense! x
wait u wentto my school didnt know u had a channel 😭
My dream is to study mathematics at Oxford uni , can I study A levels without GCSES as international student?
As long as you have equivalent qualifications/grades to GCSEs then yes I think you can study A Levels but I would double check online! BUT good luck with your dream! I am sure you can achieve it x
Hi I’m from Japan but I’m in lower 6th in the UK. Does the number of subjects matter when applying to Oxford ? Is it okay to have 3 subjects? Should it be 4?
3 is completely fine and will always be the standard offer, just make sure the rest of your application is really good!
How long did it take to do all the applications for each uni and cram them all in before the date?
I have got 3 options for ms in computer science: ucl, university of edinburgh, university of manchester.please rank them according to tech study so that i can have better idea
None for an international student, all too expensive
what reason did kings give for rejecting you?
