I’m surprised at the negative comments here on this vlog. I’m doing a PhD in Education and I use an ethnographic approach in my methodology. Thank you for sharing and I’m also from the UK so if you would like to network in any way that would be good.
@@elsie-meijones5760 Hi Elsie, for me, I think UoS is good. I'm happy in these years. Most of the tutors and workers are friendly and helpful. The campus environment, facilities, transportation and accommodation is good. However, I felt disappointed is the city high street's outlook (just the outlooking), especially the train station. Hope my msg may help u =)
‘Consistently ranked as one of the top 100 universities in the world’... care to provide your source? Only 1/4 notable global rankings has it in its top 100 for 2019...
Depends on the degree for sure. www.southampton.ac.uk/news/2019/06/guardian-guide-2020.page?fbclid=IwAR3ApcykJVe4w4oz4owRvjzcC3wafVZV_p2_dLZghNqPBTrX18uN5BaK02k
I can't believe guys coming from the US and other places doing a crash course called PhD in the UK. Got one from the UK 🇬🇧 in computer science and it was a total waste of time and money especially international students, don't do it, and it is not worth it if you want to use it in the UK.
@@vladm.6859 That's the plan, you'd think a PhD will get me something eh- However, I'm also keen to take a break from the 10 years I've spent in academia and work with non-profits related to understanding drug consumption and addiction... If you would like a list of all the applicable careers related to the study of man, I would suggest googling. Those actively studying aspects of society, do indeed add value to society. Getting policy makers to listen to experts in their fields, however, is a whole other can of worms ... But what do I know, I'm just an anthropologist

TheRealReal yep. About the only thing you can do with that degree is become a professor
