In WoT once you unlocked the 17pounder you were able to install it in the 3 Inch Gun Carrier. It turned you into the slowest sniper on the map, but once you got into position you could touch ANYBODY on the map. Also, the 17pounder is longer than your vehicle, but it was fun, when it worked.
“Coming out of a General Staff request in 1941 to investigate fitting high velocity large calibre guns on infantry and cruiser tanks specifically for use against German tanks.[14] Of the infantry tanks, neither the Churchill nor Valentine could mount a turret with a high velocity gun larger than the 6-pounder, but it was proposed that a fixed superstructure could carry a larger gun with limited traverse. The QF 3-inch 20 cwt anti-aircraft gun had been replaced by the 3.7-inch gun so these were selected and Vauxhall was provided with 100 guns and given the task of producing the vehicle. The design used a fixed square thick plate superstructure with the gun in a ball mount low in the front next to the driver. The front was 88 mm (3.5 in), sides 76 mm (3.0 in) with overall weight of 39 tons. Internal stowage included a provision for 12 HE explosive rounds as well as the AP ones.[15] As an anti-tank gun, the 3-inch gun had a maximum range of 12,000 yards and was a bit more effective than the 57 mm QF 6-pounder at 1,000 yards but less than the 76.2 mm QF 17-pounder under development.[16] The pilot vehicles were ready for testing in early 1942 and found to be satisfactory. However, in order not to impede production of the Churchill (with the 6-pounder gun) the order was reduced to 24 vehicles. Vauxhall, the main designer and lead manufacturer of the Churchill was already set up for full production of the Gun Carrier with parts and armour ordered and complained with the result that the full order was re-instated before being cut back to 50.[17][14] The 50 were built between July and November 1942 during which they were the subject of debate about whether they were artillery or tanks. The decision came down in favour of tank, and the Department of Tank Design asked for some changes; by that point in production these could not be incorporated.[17] The prototype was built by Vauxhall and had a T-number, the other 49 by Beyer, Peacock & Company in Manchester, got WD numbers with an S prefix, the same as self-propelled guns.[16] Requirements and tactics had in the meanwhile changed again to focus on the general purpose 75mm gun in the Churchill and a smaller proportion of 17-pounder tanks in use, of which work on the Cruiser Mk VIII Challenger was making progress. None are known to have been used in combat as the 17-pounder anti-tank gun gave the British the necessary firepower. Some had the gun removed and converted to the "Snake" mine-clearing line charge device and used for trials and training of that in 1942-43.[17][14] One unrestored survivor is held at The Tank Museum, it had been used at Lydd Ranges as a target.[18]”
I really like playing as the box tank, sniping enemies from far away while not getting penned ever. The thick armor combined with the Churchill's ability to turn on the spot makes this one probably the easiest to get the "Adamant" achievement in each and every round.
Fun fact: you CAN die to 50 cal. Check the armor view on the side. There is a big unarmored box through which 50s can set your engine on fire and at the right angle even kill your crew.
This thing is actually surprisingly quick to turn, the rest of its mobility is terrible but its got good neutral turning Trick to playing this tank destroyer is to angle like a tiger, let the enemy shoot you while you’re invincible, then turn and kill them

Silly as the Brick may look, that is a lot of armour at 3.0 for enemies to deal with and the 3" gun is no slouch. Also; those storage bins on the sides of the casemate? Those will fuse shaped charged warheads and offer a fair bit of standoff protection against them. It can be a nasty surprise when dealing with HEAT lobbers.

As a swedish main this tank was always nice to see because they rarely expect pz 38 variants to pen them at close range.
This is the first episode as i have gone through your channel where I actually saw you on a buying screen to add or upgrade parts. I don't know if that's actually the case in more episodes or if you like trying stock. But its cool to see that snippet as someone who again, has never played.
aahh yes takes me back to the days when the british ground tree was released. Grinding through the tech tree with the 3" gun carrier with last man standing around. Truly was fucking hell.
2:58 I got 14 kills with the Pz.IV F2 in an arcade game at its BR, 4 kills with the Tiger II H, im bringing that thing ALL THE WAY to top
My favorite thing about the tank, is 3/4 of the crew are in a perfect line of each-other. So even a British player could kill you in one shot.
smiling friends reference funny af :D nice vid tho
Silly as the Brick may look, that is a lot of armour at 3.0 for enemies to deal with and the 3" gun is no slouch.
Also; those storage bins on the sides of the casemate? Those will fuse shaped charged warheads and offer a fair bit of standoff protection against them. It can be a nasty surprise when dealing with HEAT lobbers.
I can hear Squire screaming in the distance.
3:00 you make the mistake of assuming the British put thought into making the churchill 3 inch GC.
It was more of a combination of things lying around. "hey look, some obsolete 3 inch guns" "and some empty churchill hulls because the turret design isn't finished yet" "oooh, I have an idea"
Spookston is so used to suffering that he picked the Gun Carrier over the Churchill even against popular demand.
12:11 "perhaps I treated you too harshly" moment.
The guy who killed you in the ki-43 at 6:43 is the same guy who tried to kill you at 11:36 and was also the ship.
