War Thunder is a game that focuses heavily on tanks and other armored vehicles, but trucks can also be fairly effective. The Italian AS 42/47 is surprisingly good for a low tier armored car.

I´m in this comment and I don´t like it.
It's a lot easier to crush a load of lowbies. I occasionally drop down to some early PZ4s and end up with 12-18 kills pretty regularly, since people are both less experienced *and* they stick around until their lineup is done - in high tiers a lot of people just quit on their first or second death.

@@bwcmakro Also if you drop down with a skilled crew (by skilled i mean lvl 5 in targeting driving reload) you already have a GIGANTIC advantage over everyone else...
Attempt number 17 at getting Spookston to play any tank with a dozer blade, the catch is, he has to dig in before engaging targets. Movement around the map is allowed, but he has to dig in again.
...what would even be the least miserable tank to use for this kind of gimmick? The Magach 6M? Type 74 F?
@@PraetorianMan depending on the map I'm a big fan of digging in with the T-80UK so I can hide my lfp a bit and sometimes give myself some extra depression. It is pretty quick spaded so it can get to decent vantage points I'd say.

3:15 the reason the a13 was so hard to kill is because it has two layers of side armour to fit the Christie suspension which often fuses early aphe early and make the a13 weirdly survivable to side shots

If Italy ever got more WWII era technicals, I'd love for the Autocannone da 102/35 su FIAT 634N and Autocannone da 65/17 su Morris CS8.
We still just totally need our Toyota Land cruiser and Hilux technical trees.
Or even the German ones, like an R35 hull armed with the same 47mm gun as the Panzerjager I, or an FCM.36 hull armed with the 75mm PaK 40.

The lower Italian ranks are usually underappreciated imo. My best kill game was 16 in the M15/42, and basically all the 47mm Italian tanks are pretty fun

Been playing the japanese type 94 a bit lately and it feels very much akin to the AS42, trucks that clap tanks in low tiers. That hiding in the rubble in a grey car is such a rat move lol, Cheers for the video mate.

The as42 was a desert raiding vehicle, think sas jeeps. The shit ton of ammo is because it was meant to raid for extended periods of time independant of an operating base.

Do you know what other Italian truck-based weapon system is very "fun"? Lancia 3Ro 100/17. It has all favourite Spookston's chracteristics: it is big, slow, has zero armour, it has terrible gun rotation speed and slow shell. But it also uses big boom cannon. I also have a challenge for this vechicle: get 10 kills with it at BR 10.0 in a single match.
It’s APHE (or anti concrete) shell is I believe the second slowest shell in the game behind only the he round of the 150mm SIG. it is 244 M/S versus the 150’s 240

I've just started playing war thunder like a week ago and been watching your videos for about couple of days now and I'm still amazed that you can tell what vehicle you facing just by hearing there engine, or by seeing a little glimpse of there turret, how many hours do you have on that game?

Now that you've played the Ferdinand, you should play the Ho-Ri Production or Prototype and get a blast playing, i do recommend it
Low tier is truly the Wild West of war thunder, one one hand you got glorified milk trucks with auto canons and the other you have tanks with a turret for each.
If you like low tier autocannons you have to try the Ta-Se. The armor piercing belt has better penetration than any of the Panzer II's belts, with half the reload and nearly triple the turret traverse.

The problem with playing the fm/42 is that it has very little ammo for an auto cannon vehicle. You get like 3 magazines and once you’re out you gotta find a cap to restock, so it’s not great for long fights

spook, a friend recently got war thunder so i was playing super low-tier. the swedish Pvlvv fm/42 is simply broken. i consistently got 15 tank kill games and got a 26 kill game once (not including the 7 aircraft kills)
