    I charged my Genesis GV60 at this station a few days before this. In fact, you showed my check in on PlugShare at about the 5:30 point in your video 😊. At the time the station was so new it wasn’t even listed in Apple Maps. Fortunately Google Maps did know about it. Like you, I had a very smooth charge session. My 800v EGMP car won’t pull more than 97kW at a 400v Tesla station, but the good news is that it holds 97kW up past 82% SOC. Next for SoCal EV fans is the new 40 stall Rove station opening in Santa Ana in a week or so. Exciting times!

      Small world! Glad you had a smooth session- yes, that’s the one limitation with the 400v chargers. Your charge curve is fantastic though. I’ll be out at the Rove station to check it out. Very exciting!

    That's Great!! I have an adaptor for my 2023 Hyundi Ionic 5 that I bought a few months ago. But here in Norwalk, there was a new Tesla super charging station in the parking lot where I shop at (Stater Bros. ). After filling out the Tesla Ap. could not charge there. I even called and they said was not available at that time. The reason why they build this charging station was that they are putting in a Tesla dealership down the street, where there use to be a closed Walmart.
    Found a charging station( EV GO) across from Norwalk Civic Center, which has 350 wt. charging, which is better for my Ionic 5.
    One of these days check out this magic dock in Carson!

      I don’t think Hyundai will be able to use the NACS adapter until 2025. Glad you found an alternative though. Yes, give this SC a try- very smooth operation!

    Thank you so much! Very informative! Just got a Honda Prologue and happy with my vehicle. I wonder if in the Tesla App there is a choice to charge only when needed instead of paying a $12.99 a month subscription. Thanks again!

      @@gmald17 you’re welcome! You do not have to pay the subscription if you don’t want to.

    Great video. Thanks. Why is Tesla so slow to activate V4 dispenser magic docks?

      I don’t have a good answer. It’s very frustrating though.

    I tried charging my Ford here on the same day you went here, but I could not figure out how to release the MagicDock! The Tesla app provides no instructions about this, and there's no phone number provided to contact Tesla for support. I really hope Tesla gets their act together - they need to provide instructions in the app, as this is not intuitive (press and hold the button for a few seconds, then press in, then pull out). I hope someone at Tesla sees this.

      Agreed. Hopefully my instructions were clear enough for folks.

    What is 4:06
    What is enode? And what do you mean by connected to enode through ABRP? Is that a OBD dongle?

    • @goneelectric
      @goneelectric  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Enode is ABRP’s new on board API that connects to your car to make route planning more accurate. My videos about Enode are linked in the description box.

    Wow, almost $24. I know non-Teslas are more but does that seem a little expensive? Genuinely curious as I do drive a Tesla and I mostly charge at home and have been running off free charging for the last couple of months when we travel. Great video by the way. Always wanted to know how that works.

    • @goneelectric
      @goneelectric  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      At $0.50/kwh, it’s actually cheaper than most non-Tesla DC fast chargers. Electrify America is $0.64/kwh, and many others are around the same. Thanks, and I’m glad it was informative!

    There's an LCD Screen right there on the post, it's a small one.

      Appeared to be a card swipe/contactless pay screen. I didn’t see any charging data on it- though I could’ve missed it.

      @@goneelectric Screens on dispensers are not needed. All they become is provide another part that can break and give thief's a way to skim your credit card info. The safe thing is to have your info on the app (which ever one you prefer) and keep your info away from skimmers. Tesla is only adding the small screen because of NEVI. People have to come over to the 21st century and use either their EV's screen or the app on their phone. They have all the info you need on there.

    Well, $.50 a kilowatt hour so they’ll keep, I assume you spend the seven dollars for the keeper Electrify America versus the $14 for the discounted Tesla charging.

      Generally, yes, but I always appreciate more public charging options, especially when they work.

      @@goneelectric Especially when they work. Lol. 😂
      Once you get full NACS access, you'll learn they just work. 99.96% of the time. And if one is down, it usually gets fixed by the next day, if not the same day. Not the next month or longer.

      @@goneelectric I know VW took their time in deciding to join the Supercharger network. I guess it was because their EA ownership and all, and Tesla has been granting access based on which company joined in order.
      Ford, Rivian and GM were the first 3. I know that Kia/Hyundai is getting access on January 15th, 2025. I can't remember how long after them VW finally gave in, so it would depend on that.
      If you are going you on road trips often, or are planning to use it quite a bit, my advice would be to go ahead and place an order for one of those adapters that the rest are using, so you won't have to wait once the access is granted. I hear the A2Z are working pretty well. Especially their latest pro model.
