I would up the revs a little on the Toro. If you run the Honda next to it, you can adjust the revs until they sound the same. Just put your finger under the fuel tank and bend the little bracket with the spring attached back slightly to increase the revs. 😉
@@GarageGear Thanks for checking out the video :) I took back the toro and kept Honda. My last Toro lasted 8 years but this one must’ve been made on a Monday lol.
pretty sure if your register your toro mower they will send you the "side discharge" insane that they do not include in packaging but i'm guessing thats to cut down cost and only send it to those who register
@@guitarandotherthings6090 crazy! I’m currently using my Honda hrr216vka has been good to me for a long time! but ordered the hrn since I’m still able to get it.
You should try the honda with the hydrostatic drive in the HRX217 lineup. It has a more powerful engine, and you don't need to use your thumbs for cruise control
As @moonwalker8172 mentioned, the TORO RPM is wrong, far too low, no wonder it's bogging. You need a digital tachometer and then you will able to properly zero-in on the proper RPM which I believe is around 3,200 RPM (correct me if I am wrong).
@@piyber4 Theyre being cheapskates, even the $800 “upgraded” version of this mower at Lowes is still 163cc! Same motor yet $300 more? Lol no thanks! I took the Toro back.
The Toro super recycler that came out with the Honda engine in 2019 is much more reliable than the latest models and built more commercially. These newer models are junk for what they're asking.
@@ohmaigod2 Yeah that was another dealbreaker, thats pretty cheapskate of the company to save money for the few who wont redeem the offer. I didnt like blasting my legs with my modification until it arrives. So back it went ;)

you need a riding mower for that huge yard sir. I just bought one for mine and it makes the job faster and much more fun to mow.
Thank you! I'm researching mowers for my friend and landed on these two so this helped me pick!

@@guitarandotherthings6090 What was the oil level like in the Toro? Had you tipped it recently?
@@Guillotines_For_Globalists it was new and i used the pre-measured included oil it came with
@@guitarandotherthings6090 Is the level over-full at current? Is it possible that some oil already existed within the crankcase prior to your filling?
The Toro is running at a much slower RPM. It needs increased. Smoke like that is usually the oil is way overfilled.
Agreed. RPM needs to be adjusted!

I have a 2013 TORO recycler with the 190cc engine. Don't understand why TOTO uses the smaller 163cc engines in their newer mowers.
