The chute. A friend bought a model 21462 last year. He actually received 2 chutes and gave me one. It fit on my 2015 model 20333. I use the chute most of the time and like it back there.

It's the best way for me too. I'm not to focused on ultimate look yard. Mowed and edged is all I need.

Your settings on the height are opposite. You have the rear lowered down and the front tires raised up. You need to pull the rear wheel levers FORWARD to raise the back wheels. Put the mower on concrete and you can see that it is unlevel at the settings you have it on.

I noticed on mine that the grass comes out of the bag and goes on the deck its annoying my other mowers don't do that

Yep its a annoying sight/thing for those who it bothers, it annoys me too. My older Lawnboy did this too. likely just a spot at the bag connection that's lettng grass blow out. One good thing is my mower/this mower blows the grass out the back with some force.

I commented on another video, I'm still curious on your handlebar situation. Is there any way you can do a close up off everything in the next video? You also lowered the rear of the mower before you mowed. Could be why it bogged a little. The bag filled quickly because you cut so much in 1 pass, instead of raising the deck then mowing, lower the deck and mow again. Love the all black mower! Keep up the video's!

Handle bar is the way it is according to Toro and me perusing through my dealer who acknowledges the under-whelming handle setup. Even though their manual, without any wording, shows a different handlebar setup.
In making videos the exact details or procedures sometimes get glanced over/over-looked as just mowing occupies your thoughts but then you add in the video process, moving the camera around, setting up shots, having the mic on and syned to camera, camera recording and so on. Just be so much easier to just mow and skip the video but then videos don't get made by themselves.
The mower was close to set level and approx slightly above 3" to under 4". In the grass on unlevel ground its hard to see the correct adjustments and gauge the height. Most people don't want to mow over their entire yard twice but your're right, starting higher then lowering it down for a second pass is a way to go about it, but then you have those that will claim that's a waste of time, just need a better mower, bigger motor, twin blades, triple blade, and so on.
I wouldn't consider today that it bogged but rather the rmp's just surged slightly with only pure mulching and when the bag got maxed out. (I'm really not a mulcher or a bagger but viewers need to see the options ) I consider bogging down to be when the mover noticeably nosedives which my 140cc mover does much more and gets closer to stalling out or unless you back off, it will stall. The Toro doesn't do this maybe because is new.
My goal for me in this yard, it's to cut the vegitation down as quickly and easily as possible and then get in the A/C and wash off from all the bug bites and grass that makes me itch hours later. I'm not looking for striping perfection, the perfect cut grass tips, the perfect level cut, and the other things people with perfect lawns in near perfect neighborhoods can focus on. After mowing then I have to line trim all the other spots, edge for another hour and then grass blow for 30-40 min. I just need a good mower that doesn't break down/need tinkering, cuts the grass/weeds quickly at a good pace, pushes easily and starts easily. So far I think this mower fits my needs. Would a 200+ cc engine be better, I'm sure it would but I wouldn't /won't be spending $750-850 on a push lawnmower.

Seems like most handles are sloppy like that, my $500 craftsman does. Please let give us an update as I’m thinking of purchasing it for my brothers property. I don’t want another Craftsman and I’m hesitant to buy the Honda for a few reasons, so I have my eye on the 21485. Thanks

I hope you get your discharge chute in soon. That’s a big property to be bagging!
That and once you get the bugs worked out of the handle that should be a great mower. Those Toros are really good looking machines.

Its a very good mover despite handle quirk. I got my rear discharge shoot a week ago. Man, does it make a good bit of difference. Yep no bagging, what a time saver! The mower without bag/mulch cuts like the blade isn't even touching anything because of the chute option. I can cut areas a tad bit faster than before and much faster than my old Lawnboy walk-behind mower. This mower is a very good mower and the handle really isn't that big of a deal as I can just deal with the bouncy/flexing handlebar. Thanks for posting comment.

It works just fine. I don't want to do anything that restricts the smartstow. That's how I clean the underside. Also we just had a storm blow in 6 am. It's bad. Never been through what we saw. Im surprised my roof is still on. Many trees down. My chainsaw is going to get a workout now.

Are you sure the handle issue Isn't the comfort suspension for the handles?

    • @GettingthruLife
      @GettingthruLife  หลายเดือนก่อน

The addition of the rubber isolator bumpers, where the so-called suspension feel is felt, this was Toro's attempt to add the suspension feel to the handle. Note: this is completely separate from the personal pace. The personal pace handle also adds a suspension feel too. I do like the cushioned feel downwards which is due to the isolater bumpers but the design is flawed or not well thought out.
Flawed in the sense the handle bounces up and down with no dampening/resistance and due to the "height of cut" plate cut outs, the handle floats up and down about 4-6 inches and there is a lot of twisting and flex in the handle. Just depends on the person using the mower and what they are used to. A person new to mowing who doesnt care or know any better, they may have no opinion good or bad about it. The mower works fairly well and the handle is just a marginal gripe. Seemed to me right away when putting this mower together out of the box, it was an odd and an inferior way of designing. Plus note, in the manual that came with my Recycler Max, the directions shows a different design/setup. The view in the manual/quick set up guide, that is the way I would have expected the push handle to function. It's similar to how Honda does theirs and the other higher end brands.
Plus some of the other mowers offer more height of adjustment in their push handle. Big complaint of this mower is the ladies/wives find this mower hard to push even though it's near effortless to push due to its high quality wheels with bearings. Plus for shorter people, the pull start cord is easier to pull with the push bar lower. With the personal pace handle it places your alternate hand up much higher. The high push bar due to the personal pace grab spot, puts shorter people at a leverage disadvantage. I see this and feel this 100% and I'm 6' tall and 200 pounds.

@@GettingthruLife Wow, Thank you for the details. I'm probably still going to purchase this mower, Mainly for the personal pace system but I am also slightly biased towards the toro brand, Going to grab a Toro Timecutter MAX 50" Next year sometime.

@@Kaleke09 The Toro brand is what 99% of every lawn company ive ever seen last 15 years is running. I look around and travel all across Texas and it's always Toro. I know the commercial side isn't the same as home line but still this has to play some role in their overall line of products. Why I went with Toro this time around. Maybe 2 yrs ago the Honda but not now. Parts for Hondas are doubling in price right now. Maybe soon triple in price. Husqvarna I thought was a good home-owner mower option but they crash too. Then there is the Ariens RAZOR which has its own set of issues that just made me say no.

@@GettingthruLife i live in northern Mississippi and it is the same thing.. Mostly toro, In the market right now, I'm noticing toro as the best homeowner mowers without breaking the bank on a commercial mower ( Like Wright, Bad boy, and Dewalt ). Definetely gonna be my pick. The main difference between toro and badboy's residential lines, Is the price and steel gauge. 7 gauge compared to badboys 4 gauge I believe, I think 7 gauge is fine for mowing, 2,000$ more for stronger steel seems steep, 7 gauge should be plently unless your throwing the mower off a cliff.

@@Kaleke09 I hit metal chunks of car parts with my old Lawnboy. Noting fancy and not a robust thinkness. There is some surface rust from 13 years but absolutely no threat of rust damaging the integrity. That metal deck likely stop a 22LR. All I ever saw on that lawnboy deck were dents inside out. This Toro deck is better then my Lawnboy. All the up-tick movers are crossing the $1,000 mark and many commercial units $1,300+. Im just mowing my lawn not the cities parks.

@frankcastle5294 was once a nice place to grow up and raise families until city officials started dumping off people that have given up on living. It's brought in crime, drugs, lots more trash, bad elements, some businesses leaving and around the clock sirens (fire trucks, ambulances, police). I'd like to consider leaving but a certain statement seems often true. "the grass seems greener on the other side", but many times it's not.
