I’ve got this same exact lawn mower and love it. The side discharge going to the left is normal? All lawn mowers I’ve ever owned they’ve been on the right. Can discharge be flipped?
Hello I dont think you can change the direction of the side discharge. Its all about getting use to it since its been on the right for ever. Maybe if you cut it and epoxy to the right side. You might want to ask Toro to see if they make a right side scoop instead of the right. I love this lawn mower even better than my Super Recycler. thanks
Just bought it last sunday and used it for the first time today (3.5 hour mow) and i had a bit of a scare when it died halfway through…. A branch from a lilac bush snagged on the bit of plastic with a tab and a peg on the cut off cable just below the handle and i didnt notice that….took a little while to realize that and reverse engineer how to put it back in place…… engine smoked a bit after because i had attempted a couple of dead starts and pulled too much raw gas into the engine…. Pet peeve on the side shoot…… every mower i have ever had or used before had the side chute on the right side but this blows to the left, why?
Hello I do miss the side shoot that came with older one and had the deck cleaning nozzle adapter for the hose. On the new side shoot since the bagging exit tunnel is on the right the adapter needs and angle for the grass to go far. I personally would make some changes to the design and tried to get involved with Toro but they havent responded. Overall this mower is pretty sweet even with the pain in the ass wheel height adjustment. I have the Recycler 150cc motor and for sure this 163cc is better for my needs. Also have the Super Recycler 60V and its awesome too. Thanks
How’s the power on this? New homeowner and my yard is very hilly. I bought a dewalt 150cc and it stalled constantly so I returned it and picked one of these up. Hopefully it won’t be a problem.
Hello love this unit and I had the same issue with the 150cc motor since I also have some incline from the lake. I have used the 163cc Briggs before and it works great for me and has not bogged on me. If you are going to cut wet grass that is a bit high you might wan to use the side discharge. The design of the tunnel has some limitation when you cut wet tall grass sometimes it will clog but wont turn off. I prefer the tunnel design of the super recycler its more direct but mower cost almost double the price. I cut in the afternoon when grass is not wet even my old Honda would clog on wet grass. This new Max Recycler is smooth and fun to cut with I do enjoy it and cut quality is fantastic. Hope you enjoy it let me know how it goes. thank you
Its a fantastic review with all the details. Toro needs to do something about the height levers they are annoying. thanks
If they were to do that the mower would almost be perfect
Thanks for the review
Welcome
Fantastic review.
Thank you
Thank you great review
Thanks for the info
Any time!
Very clear review and unbiased.
Thank you
Great review. I can’t stand how it spits out on to the deck either.
Thank you
