My husband...we were in Acts class...he was talking about going and seeing a movie that was coming out ...and I said, "I want to see that, you should take me." I then freaked out because I was joking and thought he was going to think I was making a move. He then turned around and said, "wanna go?"
It worked out though. We have been married for 16 years.
However, my dad behind the scenes was a terrible person. He actually once put a loaded gun top my head. So make sure you understand family dynamics before you judge her "respect" toward her dad our brother

As you are dating you do need to be searching out the person to see if they are marriage material. You shouldn't rush into the relationship. Take your time to get to know the person. Trust that God will guide you through the relationship.

SOMEONE FINALLY AGREES! my own dad doesn't really agree with me on this, but I refuse to date "just for fun" because that would inevitably end with a compromise of my standards to maintain my purity, and heartbreak because the relationship would never work.

Probably wont get your response but on your opinion with how "a woman relates with her family" and if she respects her father... that's a touchy subject. Not a lot of women either had a dad growing up or were treated right by their father/Male figure in their life. So how can you respect someone who didn't respect you first?

I agree! I believe the respect is earned and if there’s a toxic relationship between brothers or fathers there might be a lack of respect. Does not mean she’s evil towards him or wishes him harm but may not see him as a respectable man.
If ifs and buts were candies and nuts we'd all have a merry christmas, yeah the exception to the rule is the exception. You can't give general advice to people without being general. If everything had to be refined to people's specific life stories we'd be here till 3005.

I can tell you that some of the things that my father has done have been very disgusting (adultery). But I still love him, because he is my father and the bible says to honor your father and mother. Ik that parents dont always deserve respect, but God requires us to....period.

I personally think some of these are a little materialistic. For instance, I'm trying to spend my currently little money wisely, meaning heavy working out would mean more food and more money. I do stretch and get walking in when I can. I do think being as healthful as monetarily possible is good though. My priorities for instance personally are savings for debt and other things and my father who just got diagnosed with cancer. Some of my money will be spent on going to see him in another country. I think the matters of the heart, whether the person is in repentance, deliverance, and has been healed by the Lord, will be far better foundational blocks. I too at some point aim to be more healthy and fashionable by getting some new clothes when I can afford that, some more modest, but I think there are priorities that sometimes come first. I do however appreciate Christian guys showing what it is they are looking for, and it does give us a mind inside a man.
Jewel For Jesus I don’t think they’re asking for someone who works out like a professional athlete. There are plenty of short, free, low commitment workouts you can do at home and on the go
This video is so on point! Because I never actually thought deep into “date to marry” but then (few months or so ) I started thinking about it and was like. Well yeah that’s so true, if once you just like a person and don’t see yourself marrying them then why? Why waste yours and their time. So I totally agree on that!

Idk why half of you are mad about a girl going to workout, like, if you want a good Christian guy who is also attractive, you can't be lazy and unfit. Now, that being said, he didn't say have a 6 pack and have the legs of a supermodel. Everyone has their own version of being healthy. Do what you can, and just like you don't want to put effort into your body and be conscientious of that and get a really unfit and unhealthy guy, guys want the same thing. It's having the same goals, similar ideas about life. It does manifest itself physically too.
I'm so glad I'm mature enough to realize that just because four guys in a video say something is attractive to them doesn't mean it is to everyone and they're allowed to have preferences. They really should change the title to "What These 4 Christian Guys Look For In Girls" because I'm sure there are other Christian guys out there who disagree with their list. Girls who watched this and feel insecure, especially younger girls, please remember this is just their opinion and not fact. Every guy like every girl likes different things and just because you may not fit their criteria doesn't mean you're going to end up alone forever. Also, I find it kind of funny at the end they say that all creative guys or guys who lean on that side will think that way like...creativity is having original ideas. If the guy is creative there is no way he will agree with everything one person says and he does agree his reasoning might be different.
I love the comment in the beginning about worship. Worship is a huge part of my relationship with God and it has brought incredible freedom to my life! I want my future man (whoever he may be) to see me worshiping God and know my heart is genuine for Him. The same goes for him as well. I want to be able to look up during worship and see a man so in love with God that he doesn't care what people may think about his hands being raised and tears streaming down his face.
I think some of this was decent advice but I have been married for 10 years ( with my husband 14 years) with 4 kids and a lot of these “wish list” things change as you get older. What you should be concerned with is how kind and compassionate she is, how she talks to and about others, her goals and ambitions in life. Health and fitness is great when you are young, but life changes things. Kids change things. Priorities change. If a women takes care of herself and isn’t vain and is also focused on others then you have a women worth having. Attraction is great but as the Bible says looks fade. Think of who you spiritually and mentally want to grow old with. Also think of how it would be to have kids with her.
Just found this video and absolutely love it. I share a lot of the believes that these guys talked about and it's nice knowing that I'm not the only one in the world left now who isn't hopping from bed to bed. I've always felt like a prude Who was born in the wrong time period since my friends are a part of the hook up culture. So it truly is a relief to know I'm not alone in my values or respecting of traditions.

Also, it's not always about the weight--I forgot to comment on the video on this. If a woman is healthy she doesn't have to worry about weight. Different men, Christian men, definitely look for a variety of women. We're not all the same.

I agree that if you want somebody who is in shape or who takes care of their body then you should do too. For a while I thought I was a bit shallow and superficial but its good to know that other christians share the same opinion, but of course what is most important is what is in their soul and the kind of person they are. I enjoyed this video I pursued my youth pastor from my church and things didnt turned out the way I hoped they would but now I understand why that I should of been more wise and been sure that what I was doing was correct before God's eyes. Nothing happened between us ever but now we are not friends. So I learned a good lesson not to listen to your heart or your feelings but to always listen to God first.

You should really delete the video on "6 things guys find attractive" it is so focused on physical things and gives the wrong idea of what a godly man would be looking for in a woman. It's obvious we all care about the physical; you need to be attracted to the person, but as Christians, the most important things that trump the physical should be about the character of a person. Not the physical traits. I love how you brought up the "playing games" in dating. The bible doesn't tell us that Moses played games with his wife or any other godly man played games when looking for a wife or vice versa. I believe that's not biblical at all but ungodly because it's all fake/pretending/a way to attract in lust. As Christians who are truly walking in a godly manner that shouldn't even be in the vocabulary of dating. It's should be a big no-no. It shows immaturity and untruthfulness in your way of dating. This video was truly based on the bible and it was great!

Exactly! I will date a person because I can see myself with him in the future. That's why I didn't have a relationship, guys were interested in me but they didn't seem to look in the same direction as me. And I agree with health. Everyone wants a person who is healthy and looks good, me, as a woman, i want someone who looks good, is healthy, have a good lifestyle but not a model or someone perfect. I think the health is very important. My dad had a problem with the weight and my mother supported him because she loved him and he ended up in hospital. I was like 8-9 years old and I watched him breathing hard on the bed and struggling because of the weight. Very painful and it still wanders my mind. Right now he is more aware and I'm so proud of him and how he overcome this. So yes, the health is the most important!

I was wondering, could you guys make a video about what it means to not pursue the guy (after the first move is made, whoever makes it) and what it looks like to have the guy pursue you after that? I really appreciate this video and these guys. They are looking to be respectful of woman and have godly relationships, and really look at the girl and her personality. Like, saying that they care about a girls health and find it attractive when a girl is fashionable (But modest) and wears what she thinks looks good... I want to hear that more from Christian guys. Edit: Also, I saw a good point in other coments about respect to abusive fathers. Yes, how a girl interacts with her dad and brother is a good representation of how they will treat the man in their life. But there are sometimes wounds or reasons girls dont act totally respectful to their dad. I respect my dad, but I have wounds from childhood when he was verbally abusive to me. He still is sometimes, but God has changed him so much. I still have a lot of wounds that God is working on healing, and it is miraculois the work He has done. But the wounds affect how I think of and interact with boys. And it is hard to respect my dad sometimes. So please, please be patient with girls and learn their story and expirience with men. Don't push them to share, but when they are ready, listen. And pray you will be the kind of man that will help with the healing process.

And the topic about dating only when you are ready to marry is such a huge debate with opposing viewpoints. If I am to choose a side I would say that you should not wait too long before you start dating, so you won't be in a hurry, and also you will have enough time to actually "date" and get to know him or her. ‘Practice’ really just means getting experience. Practice isn’t the way to describe it. You gotta learn important lessons through dating as you grow up. I learned, for example, I don’t want someone that says they’re just open to going to church and stuff but they’re not so serious about it. I wouldn’t have learned that if I didn’t get the experience. I don’t want a lukewarm person, I know that now. I want someone who’s in love with worshipping God and Jesus Christ.

I feel like most women dont play hard to get. If they're playing "hard to get" they're most likely saying they don't want to date you (IN THE MAJORITY OF CASES) If I like a guy, and if many of my friends like a guy, they will text you back and will make it clear they want to see you.
I also agree with women not pursuing men consistently but not for the reason you all said. No one should pursue someone consistently that isn't reciprocating because that's creepy. It's disrespectful to not take no for an answer.

There is a lot of double standards throughout this video. Nobody should care what a guy thinks, you are a beautiful and uniquely created human being, these standards are damaging, not to mention misogynistic. YOU, a MAN, are not dominant, therefore you do not get to decide what is "appropriate" for women. Okay, pointing out something to all the people who commented below.
1. These are 4 guys opinions, not the entirety of the make Christian population.
2. Nowhere did they mention anything relating to wanting a female slave out of their wives. They said serve the Lord, not the husband.
3. Sure some things weren't worded that great and I wasn't a fan of how they talked about health/fitness either. But the intention was to talk about looking after your health to literally JUST BE HEALTHY. Not look like a model, not only eat salad, not any of that. One of the 4 said he likes a girl to be fit, meh, his preference. That's it.

The girl is Selena Gomez, Scarlett Johansson, something closer to home: the girl is the pretty one at work or school. I know that is the scientific and social reality. Do you know any different? Please i'd love to see your sources. Just look at most athlete's wives, they're almost ALL knockouts with amazing bodies (in hockey they're all blonde too) and with pretty faces (which IMO is the suckiest thing a guy can like about a woman even more than her body because unlike your body that you can change with discipline, if your face isn't "pretty" then you're REALLY screwed) Go ahead, i'll give you a bunch of random athletes for you to look up their instagrams and see their girlfriends and wives: Matt Chapman, Nathan Beaulieu, Tom Brady, Al Horford. If you looked at those ladies, they’re stunners. Do you really think,(be honest, i know you’re smart) that those guys didn’t look at their partners bodies aka “looks” before anything else? One step further, do you think that someone like Nick Foles loves his partner with the same integrity that the guys I mentioned above do? Absolutely not, any other rationale is intellectually dishonest and delusional. We shouldn't be bringing down our brothers in Christ, that's unfair to them because they're doing women a huge favor. It would be amazing if every woman was equally as physically attractive, so character could be the only indicator of merit but it’s not like that. Guys go for looks, unless they have higher axiomatic ideologies that can override those social and scientific principles to a certain extent. I think a more painful and objectifying state is how secular men choose their partners. These men in the video may not fit your perfect standards but objectification that is indirect and impacting to all women’s perceptions themselves is alive and well in the secular community.
Dianne yes I agree with what you said about most celebrity guys however you missed the point that we are talking about. We were talking about the guys in the video NOT celebs. These men are christians and I do agree with you that they DO look for things other than physical looks. So what made me pissed was when they were talking about "if you don't go to the gym and you don't eat healthy maybe you should rethink that" part. I think more care/respect should of went into that topic because many of us do stuggle with that and so when we watch these types of videos we feel discouraged and angry bc we can't change on a dime. All I'm saying is more care/wording about the subject should've happened. 🙏
