Great question. The soul and tread of the Cloud 5 and the Cloud 5 Coast are the same. If you are looking for a thinner/lighter material with the ability to quickly slip on, go for the Cloud 5 Cost. If you are looking for a thicker more durable material the regular Cloud 5 is the way to go. I used these in London, Paris, and Rome for two weeks. I walked on gravel, concrete, cobblestone and even the roman road..which was fancy ;-) I was on my feet for at least six to eight hours a day walking an average of seven miles a day. They were stable and very comfortable.

That's a great question. I would say they are built so you don't have to wear socks. Overall I don't find my shoes smell because they breathe so well. I am not sure if that's a feature but defintley my anecdotal experience.

So great question. Not all ons are narrow. The Cloud 5 coast is based on the original cloud which was and is narrow. Shows like the cloud runner, monster, surfer and stratus have a broader soul. The cloud stratus is my personal favorite because it’s not bulky but it does accommodate my wider foot.
@@RootedConsulting Thank you for the response. I ended up ordering the Cloudrunner wide model. Mostly going to use it as a lifestyle shoe and some short jogging sessions perhaps. For general jogging/running I liked the Asics Gel Kayano 30 (also wide model), but my experience with Asics in the past is that they are of low quality and heel and front mesh tear easily.
While not a water shoe it does drain and dry quickly. The materials breathe well. Of all the On's these have the most comfort in a small goldable package. Great for beach, bayou and lake visits.
I noticed On recommends sizing up a half size with this particular shoe. Do you think this is necessary? Thanks. I'm considering these.

I tried the Cloud 5 and it was incredibly narrow compared to other brands. I don't suppose this model is any different?

Would you recommend going half a size up as they do on the website? Or is true to size good enough?

Gotcha. Depends on the model. The origins Cloud, which this is a variant of, have always been able to.
