This is probably one of his greatest works it is just upsetting to know how dark things must have been inside George’s head. To consign one’s self to such a degree of hopelessness cannot be mentally good. It’s not that he is wrong about any of it, it is that it dwelled within him and at the end of his days he still felt like there was no turning humanity around. For a mind as articulate and functional as his, it really paints us in an awful circumstance.
Why would how smart he is have anything to with his perception of humanity? It shouldn’t take a guy like George Carlin to point out that humanity isn’t going anywhere.
