I love how his anecdote about surfing in Hawaii is so metaphorical to his smash career. "Being able to even stand up for a couple seconds was totally worth the 10 hours in the water."
I believe it. Skateboarding is extremely punishing on your body the older your get. The injuries get extremely frustrating. Playing video games was probably a breath of fresh air. Playing video games competitively at his level looks mentally exhausting though.

I like the fact that it was best of 11 for that specific match. Given that PC Chris beat Ken 5 times, it was pretty solid proof that it wasn't a fluke.

Watching Ken vs PC Chris knowing about 2021 Zain vs Mang0 is almost cathartic. It gives an energy of how melee always evolves and grows off of its players. There's a reason it's called the PC drop ya know

How did they end up on Mute City? I don't follow the professional scene very closely, but aren't there only a handful of maps that are deemed "fair" for tournament play? Was this before those standard stages were agreed upon?
+Jigglypoof There where more stages back then then there are now stages such as Mute City, and Kongo Jungle 64 where once legal. After a while people got sick of some of the gimmicks of the stages and banned said stages
