Our country's Olympic delegation has shown its best performance just yet. While others didn't win medals, they otherwise managed to break their personal-best and national records.

Don’t most of them have endorsement deals? I would think they are doing fine. Otherwise they wouldn’t do it. People gotta make a living.

the Olympics original intension was to provide the Venue for amateur athletes to compete. amateurs not professionals.
this is why i do not watch Olympic hockey, or basketball as these teams are stacked with professionals.

@@Cheddar012181 sure, but why would they get picked for the national team if theres a massive lineup of huge professional athletes to choose from. i believe that is johnnys point, that athletes from certain high profile sports dont necessarily NEED payment, they get more than that on endorsements alone, and it's a big waste of tax money in most cases.

Hidilyn and PH medalists deserve the prizes they got especially there is a lack of funding for Philippine athletes.

If India was included in the list, it would certainly take the first spot. In India, they'll shower you with money if you win any medal and for gold, you'll get twice or even thrice the money that the top countries give.
