    PFAS chemicals have done much more damage but no one is talking about that. Everyone should watch the movie "Dark Waters and Erin Brockovich". The VA needs to do much more for our veterans. Other health problems are insomnia, narcolepsy, sleep APNEA, memory problems, ADHD, alzheimers, dementia, fibromyalgia, diabetes, and many more. Chemicals that are not good for plants are not good for humans. Healthcare costs are making people homeless.

    During a video conference last fall, the VA admitted (to the astonishment of other agency personnel and veterans) that they were not following the congressional action and was still fighting against presumptive conditions. Second, they were not assigning disability codes to covered conditions (not all) and telling the veteran (me) that they have to fight every incident individually.

    I filed a claim and then appealed for having the presumptive, Adult Leukemia, twice. Tons of chemo and two bone marrow stem cell transplants later, I was given a service connection with 0% compensation because I survived it. I just barely got the VA health care this year after they held it awaiting my financials, which was not required. I lost so much fighting the leukemia- yet . . . not a penny to compensate.

      Hi there Kerry, while we can't say for certain since everyone is different, it is still worth researching and looking into. What you're saying does sound similar to many veterans who were exposed to the contaminated water. You can read our written articles on Camp LeJeune Toxic exposure here: www.hillandponton.com/camp-lejeune-water-contamination-what-you-need-to-know/ AND www.hillandponton.com/neurobehavioral-effects-related-to-camp-lejeune/

      Thank you for your question. However, we do not have any information on Lyme Disease specifically at Fort Jackson. Lyme disease is spread by ticks and can be found in many locations. I have linked more information about exposures at military bases here that you may find helpful www.hillandponton.com/military-base-exposures-united-states/

      Yes that's basically it. I recommend watching the documentary called, "Semper Fi," that you talked about the entire Camp Lejeune situation. From the toxic chemicals, to ignoring the tests confirming that toxic substances were present, to the cover-up of the information, and then to the almost impossible nature to get benefits Etc. Heck, they didn't even want to tell all the people who had been at the camp about the contamination! It is actually so freaking sad. So yeah all these PR videos about " we're doing everything we can for our veterans, " is all a PR stunt, so they can get more money from the government, it does not mean that their process of helping veterans is improved at all. It is an organizational problem, just throwing more money at the VA is that going to help anything, we have to completely on it from the top down, and from the bottom up, to make the organization more efficient and useful. It's just like when we throw more money at public education, but doesn't mean anything will get improved.

    i was in active duty in ORLANDO Naval Base in 1977 & suffered upper respiratory infections ,Rubella virus , and from what I firmly believe was due to all the consumption of so much drinking water out fountains to stay hydrated & showers ,etc as in Camp LeJeune & Ft McClellan ,Ala.

      @@HillAndPonton you mention services and benefits. What are the benefits? Just healthcare and prescription drug coverage along with mental health eval and services? Does one get monthly disability as well if they were a dependent that was harmed? Any success stories? Have you won any battles for vets and their dependents?

  • @GospelOutside

    Camp Lejeune Justice Act 2021 and now amended as 2022 with some unfair revisions, now includes those that were exposed. With this language, more of us who used base facilities consistently while our parent / spouse was stationed on base, will prayerfully receive compensation for harm. More illnesses need to be consistently kept on the presumptive list, such as cervical cancer. The CDCs 2017 findings list several more diseases / illnesses that did not make it on to the VA list. So how do two federal entities no correlate their findings?
    Lastly I am hopeful that the Honoring Our Pact Act 2022 will extend a blanket of compensation and service for those affected by any and all toxic exposures. One should not cherry pick when it comes to exposure. Manifestations vary from individual to individual. Let’s give all service members, civil service workers and families who were exposed; a basic level of comprehensive support, compensation for harm and then continue to build from there.

It's just like when we throw more money at public education, but doesn't mean anything will get improved.
    Now that the information about the poisoning and cover-up have made the news, they are now having their little public relations people come out and talk. Not owning up to the fact that they intentionally covered it up and also roadblocks the citizens, retired Marines, who themselves had forced this entire situation to light. That's why they use these young women who are affable and kind looking to make it hard for those who have literally been betrayed and spit in the face by the Marine organization that they had pledged their life to, essentially work betrayed. So now they are using these women to make those who are upset and have complaints look like the unreasonable ones. That the VA has done everything possible, well we all know that the whole organization is a huge mess

      Hi there, just wanted to clear something up, we are not the VA nor are we affiliated with the VA. We're lawyers who have received VA accreditation to practice veterans disability law and we have this TH-cam channel where we try to inform vets on the issues that VA has tried to gloss over. We can certainly understand your frustration.

    Is the contamination fully cleaned up as of present? About to get stationed there and concerned.

    • @GospelOutside
      @GospelOutside 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t believe it ever was. I never saw any major activity to clean things up. It was deemed a superfund site in 1989. How do you clean groundwater and soil just like that? It takes decades. The base should have been completely shutdown once the learned of the issue and the harm. To shutdown would have cost them billions.
