Played one single game on Mastia. And I don't like it. First thing that come in mind is "did they couldn't just to mark the spots where bombs fell with a laser?" You know how any strategems.
Of all the possible things i could think of for this station, i would've loved to see something like Command and Conquer 3's Ion Cannon Strike where the orbital lasers converge in a circle to then blast a single spot on the calldown marker.
I’m sorry buzz, but the reaction you and many other divers gave to the DSS is considered toxic. It’s not constructive when you actively are insulting the devs for trying to tell the community to take a step back and encourage us to take our matters to the support forums. This orbital bombing is annoying, but it doesn’t warrant the response being given by thousands of helldivers to attack the devs. The way people are acting is how devs from other games stop supporting their community and how they stop interacting. At a certain point, it’s not criticism anymore, it’s attacking and toxicity.
@@djtrac3r935 I have to agree with you. I mean the title to this is literally that they killed the game which is just click-bait nonsense. Just forget whatever planet the dss is orbiting and play on other ones for the weekend. Hardly an issue to go WW3 over.
I saw a suggestion that instead of the 380 barrage, the DSS should do random railcannon strikes. That way it targets high tier enemies and there's very very little chance of friendly fire.
It would be good, but there's a cinematic element to the 380 barrage making the planet actually feel like a warzone. I just think they need to fix it so it doesn't teamkill. A no fire radius around each helldiver. I also think it's a mistake to limit it to one of the 2 between this and eagle storm
I vibe with this my dude, but would they let it happen ? Pretty sure the automatons should have taken super earth a couple of months back and their progress just “stopped”. I think the DSS would develop some form of plot armour and survive. I guess there’s still some elements of the Dev. Vs player attitude.
@deltanaruto100 I never wanted this, I never wanted to unleash the Helldivers. Together, the Helldivers banished the ignorance of collectivism, but SuperEarth betrayed us. They betrayed us all. They stole power from the Helldivers and lied to us, mankind has only one chance to prosper, and if SuperEarth will not seize it, THEN WE WILL! SO LET IT BE WAR, From the skies of SuperEarth to the galactic rim. Let the seas boil, let the stars fall, though it takes the last drop of our blood, WE WILL SEE THE GALAXY FREED ONCE MORE, and if we cannot save the universe from Super Earth's failure THEN LET THE GALAXY BURN!
Agreed! IT happens SO much, too. TH-camrs ESPECIALLY need to be MUCH more responsible since a lot of them have a HUGE impact on the rate in which a game will grow. More importantly in the beginning of a games release. Like this video, for example... it has a really BAD, misleading, and irresponsible title that definitely earns the term "CLICKBAIT". Next, he SHOULD have started the video off with what he says way later in the video expressing how much he loves the game and blah, blah, blah... which SHOULD have been in the beginning as a CLEAR disclaimer before his rant about what's wrong with the new features. We have been seeing this more and more with games, social issues, and politics alike for more than the past decade now. The biggest problem is that SO many ignorant people don't even read past a headline these days. This was proven by a study that showed that more than SEVENTY percent of people that click on a mainstream "news" article don't even scroll past the headline, never mind the first couple sentences on political stories and other "clickbait" type articles get pumped out nonstop online and especially on social media. So, the vast majority of the people that "read" articles that are badmouthing certain political opponents miss the main substance that actually, 9 times out of 10, COMPLETELY contradicts the headline of the articles or at the very least, make easily debunked claims based on shoddy or doctored statistic gathering. A lot of people are finally waking up though politically... THANKFULLY! Hopefully the gaming world starts waking up soon as well. Especially since a lot of the better games nowadays come from small development and production teams that can easily be hurt by one or two bad articles written by a biased or ill-informed "journalist". So, the lesson that comes from this is that it is best to get your information directly from factual sources or just wait until you can prove it yourself with an informed decision. I get that we need to hold developers' asses to the fire on a lot of things. But a lot of times, as far as the gaming world goes, all you need to do is be patient and allow the devs to catch up with bugs and/or mistakes. It's also funny how people will yell common phrases like "stop crying it's just a game" or "get better then, NOOB!" when a new player might get discouraged about being camped by a seasoned player or a group is harassing one player over and over, be them skilled or not, yet the same people won't live up to their own words when it comes to bugs after a huge update in a or a decision is made that they don't like that still needs fine tuning... or the many other reasons people will b!tch and whine.
The worst part is that NOWHERE was anything stated to warn us that only one effect from the station could be active at one time. That is, to quote Burt Gummer, "Critical, need to know, INFORMATION!"
uh from the way stuff was worded in the announcements of its functionality i kind of assumed only one thing worked at a time why would you vote for something if it can all be done anyway
@@nathanperquin9910 it's not voting it's donating. The system actually implies that they can all be active since you can donate to them all at once. There was zero indication that they would not be concurrent with each other.
@@ZackShark1Hopefully not sounding condescending. We move between planets on and are then deployed from a spaceship which then is used for the majority of the mission as your main source of DPS(including your support weapon) and ammo.
Dude, when my group attempted a mission, we almost failed because the dss kept directly impacting us. It was insane. We spent a good portion of the mission trying to find the pattern, but standing in one spot resulted in two of us getting wiped off the face of the planet. Edit: not gonna lie, I kinda want to experience the airstrike just to see how batshit it is
The problem with the DSS friendly fire could be solved by just implementing a minimum distance from any Helldiver that it could drop a given strike onto to where by the time it's fired and lands, it'll be less likely to land on top of you. This would instantly turn it into a really powerful tool where you've got a curtain of explosions clearing the way for your advance
Last night we lost two operations in a row because we were team wiped by the bombardment. We tried various strategies to pin point exactly how the barrages targeting worked. We thought the shells fired in a circle around each diver so we tried grouping up. Only for all of us to be killed by a shell targeted right in the middle of our formation.
Of course, because all it ACTUALLY is, is the traitor orbital bombardment active on Helldivers at all times. This game doesn't know how to add new content, so it just rehashes old stuff. Not really sure what these 100 Devs are doing, but they're just putting lipstick on a pig at this point.
I think it shoot if some bot are around you, I don't know the range required between you an bot to trigger it, but even that, the DSS bombardment is just not great. You want to destroy a fabricator, what do you think that is close to that... bots.... so the DSS will rain down 380 on the spot... before DSS ... the fabricator would have been destroy in second, but now... you could spend 5-6 helldiver before being able to be close enough to destroy the fabricator.
Definitely don't do enough, or without the expectations of a player and just a "did putting this in break anything" perspective. I understand that it would be impossible to do a public testing server and not have leaks of future plans, but the dataminers and others are getting information anyways. Maybe they could compromise on information on new mechanics and weapons for better testing, and make a new mode/server that is strictly weapons testing. Which is to say, you will get no story information, and you get to see how new stratagems and weapons feel. Some kind of simulator, maybe? If it would take long enough to implement, they could add the Illuminate, and say that the simulator is based on captured tech from them, bringing it in with an MO series.
Imo the devs hate us. Nobody in their right mind would choose this bs out of all the gr8 ideas that could have been implemented. Imo they hate the playerbase and want us to suffer. They are only hurting themselves however.
I don't think even the most amateur and ignorant game dev would think that instantly dying or being rag dolled randomly throughout the entirety of the gameplay is a good idea.
The question is was it play tested at ALL? Our very first mission with a friends after a hiatus of game was terrible experience. Around 4/5 deaths were random shell landing on you with little you could do about it.
The DSS actions should have been extra stratagems for us to take into battle. Similar as to when they make one specific strat available for everyone. Planetary Bombardment should have just been a 380mm Barrage available to everyone while the effect lasts. It would have been simple, but a still a lot better than the shitstorm they put out. Huge disappointment...
It should have been MORE. We spent 2 months and now millions of resources on these things for something out of our control. The entire point of HD2 is being in control of the big guns, but they've yet again decided to balance by arresting our freedom of use. They straight up showcased new stratagems in relation to the DSS, where the fuck are they?
When I loaded in this morning and saw I had a free gas strike, I was disappointed because I thought that was all we got, then I loaded into the mission. Now I'm with you, I *wish* that was all we got.
Yeah that'd be one cool option, or that it'd be cool if it would automatically target bigger threats with some powerful orbital railcannon strikes that melt one random big enemy every now and then with a surgically accurate strike, then goes on a cooldown while it charges another shot. To make it not hit those things you're already hitting, it could even target them as soon as they spawn and then confirm a kill like "Scratch one Bile Titan" after the thunderous strike takes one down but you don't see it directly. That'd feel so cool, having a weapon like that looking out for you. (Though of course it'd have a cooldown... but would be so much better than some dumb blindfire)
@gamerbeast3616 how is it not lazy? A single coder could program these mechanics from existing material in a couple days easily. And obviously they didn't spend time playtesting it... They probably spent all their time blabbering in team meetings to come up with this gem of a feature 🙄
It seems like AH takes one step forward and two steps back. The recent buffs were great, they brought me back to the game and I was excited to fight for the final two MOs to get the DSS up and running. Then the DSS came online... two steps back. Hopefully they will fix it, and im holding out hope that they will, its potential is something id love to see in the game. But they definitely did not stick the landing with this one.
0:30 "fells like arrowhead just threw something together last minute. never gave it a minute of testing or QA" pretty much sums up the last 8 months of this game.
These devs are clueless, they fired everyone who made the base game then just hope the new crew with less experience (and probably cheaper?) can do the job. They don't play their own game, i bet they don't even test anything. I stopped playing altogether after the nothing burger that was the second buffdivers patch. Honestly the game is just not fun anymore, it was better day 1 than now almost a year later, what a shame.
The DSS shoulda been a Destiny Tower esk social hub that not only lets Helldivers meet up but allow extra stratagems and buffs over the stationed planet.
@twowheelzzz not to sound like a jerk, and I'm sure you're a great guy/gal, but I'm gonna take a shot for every time I see the word "engine limitations"
@gardevoir7137 Bet you'll only get the one lolol. Seriously though if the engine is that bad or limiting then maybe they should have used something else worth a damn just saying...
I wonder if they tested it with no ship upgrades and the one that tightens orbitals just makes it fall on your head and without it the radius is actually ok? Just a thought
what we wanted: platoons illuminite, the thing we got: funny space station that barrages the ever living hell out of your position, dear arrowhead, i trusted you and you failed me
Vehicles, SEAF platoons, Illuminate, factions bosses. So many things we know they've been working on that could have been released instead of this. What a waste of two months.
you guys should've seen the red flags months back when they nerfed their most fun weapon: the half charge arc thrower, it was like a rhytmn game trying to get it right, and they gutted it
The lore of the game is supposed to be like that. Helldivers are expendable cannon fodder. You don't think it is a waste of time and human resources to go raise flags in the middle of a war zone!? And now you complain about this? 😂😂😂😂
My recommendation: 2 ideas. Set a radius around all Divers that the barrage can’t enter. And/Or (like the mortars) have it set where the DSS prioritizes enemies the Divers mark.
My recommendation: a public playtest branch for the game so that the community can test these changes before they turn into these massive PR disasters.
Yeah but how is that even fun? If effective, what, the map ends up getting cleared before Helldivers even arrive to their destination? This entire concept stinks of poor game design.
>Open up helldivers after a week of not play >See this video and the other LtBuzzLiteBeer video on the now operation DSS >Sadness for all those months of grinding
The bot response in the Discord is the largest offense. Essentially, "Don't talk publicly, vent at us privately via a form that has no follow through and we won't do anything". Modern feedback is only effective when taken out in a public forum. Arrowhead should have learned this lesson themselves already with the crap they pulled regarding PSN requirements. Unfortunately, this situation demonstrates that their "60 days to fix" was only a temporary change and that they actually haven't learned anything in the long run.
Still havent install this game since the PSN and pre-buff diver updates. I keep watching your videos just to see the dumpster fire that is Helldivers 2, Arrowhead Studios, and Playstation how much the flames has been building up. I hope the devs give up and the servers stop working. this game has burned my trust in them and will have no remorse when this game finally shuts down.
Not even, I bet, Cause wouldn’t that overlap the Ship mod? That hs the same name and exact function? Does it overlap? If most don’t already have the module unlocked.
100% agree. I tried finishing the mission and got killed by DSS bombardment 4 times in a row before finishing the last objective and 5th time after throwing a stratagem to finish automatons base. :)
@@Uri0000 it's that and i watch the bombardment half of the match across all those matches so i can dive whenever i see a bombardment coming to my position(it'll take care of enemies around you). It's fast, but if you're fast enough, you might just be lucky enough to not get one-tapped, on top of that i used the democracy protects armor as well.
@@mizuchi6209 I died 4 times on a easy solo mission. Got vaporized by the Dismembering Soldiers Station each time. I had to stim constantly, yet only got hit by bot fire twice. With a superweapon like this, who needs enemies?
CORRECTION Real actual CHAOS DIVER don't kill fellow divers, after having spent some time amongst them for research, it's not what they do or represent, some people have killed divers saying they were a chaos diver but they are not.
Imagine a Helldiver risking his life tirelessly for 2 and a half months, facing constant near death encounters to ensure the completion of the DSS just to be turned into a red mist by it once it’s finally activated… moronic.
@Gegs-f6r the game is fun though. It's just people taking it too seriously when they shouldn't. And honestly if Sony hadn't banned the rest of the planet from even playing the game this wouldn't be an issue. Most of the player base are from modern America whom have shown themselves to be sensitive, self righteous, busy bodies.
@thathandsomedevil0828 yeah I didnt say the game wasnt fun. Don't twist a complaint about something specific into a general statement about the game. Constant orbital bombardments outside of the player control are an active detriment to the game and an overehelming majority of people who have had to do high level missions with that active will agree.
@Gegs-f6r and you missed the point of the game. Have you not watched any of the trailers to see how ridiculous the world of helldivers is? In a sane world and military no helldiver would be sent on half the missions we do in the game and you'd expect your carrier battlgroup destroyers and cruisers to not rain death on your position when doing a mission but this is HELLDIVERS 2, the entire premise of the game is satire and parody of authoritarian regimes so having friendly fire bombardment from a newly commissioned orbital weapon is par for course. I find it fascinating that you still think helldivers themselves aren't glorified cannon fodder. If you don't even appreciate the satire then none of what is happening will make sense to you and you will end up taking things seriously when you shouldn't. Honestly go watch the trailers for the game again if you think I am full of it. Does the line: "the galaxy's last line of offense" not ring any bells to you? 😂😂😂😂
This one is so bad that im thinking beyond this game and having major doubts about the studio. They have a trend of bad decision making, only redeemed when players threaten to leave. I get that this is just the start of the station, but wow. Worst "reward" of any game I have played in 30 years.
Mutliple weeks and orders for this piece of garbage? It cant even target things, it literally stats it randomally bombards the planet. WHO THOUGHT THAT WAS SMART??
In my experience, it tends to follow a single person until that person dies and then it goes to another random diver until they die. My squad has taken to calling it Orbital Herpes because the moment you think it's gone, you get it again LOL
Will someone just grab grandpappys old hunting iron, take his career back behind the woodshed, and do what needs to be done please? At this point I’ll buy no game that has his name on the credits.
Had played an Civilian Evac mission, and I was so scared to death that the shells would hit them. like, "FOR DEMOCRACY WE HAVE TO SHOOT THE 380 DOWN TO THE HELLDIVERS!" Random Operator: "But Sir, there are VIP's down there! We cant risk it!" "I SAID FIRE THE CANONS!" And it gets worse... Sandstorm+orbital bombardment with 0 vision and a bunch of Hulks and Armored Scout straiders + the camera bug returnd, me and the ppl I played with died so many times and we rotaded 5 times through new players cause, we couldn't bring the dead ones down in time on a safe spot, because we were swarmed by the bots and with the 380 on top we couldn't evade or move ô.o The DSS is more an Handicap for those that are not into S&M. ô.o those who are into it may have a blast
Imagine being in a heavy firefight with the team. You use a DSS special strat that has 4 or 5 Orbital Railcannon lasers aim at a few Hulks & a Strider, and take them out. Straight laser show in the sandstorm
You know what... that's actually a pretty cool idea. "DSS Guardian Angel protocol has initiated" 3-5 orbital lasers just murders everything in it's path "DSS is overheated, Guardian Angel protocol has been terminated, good luck Helldivers" Make it a single use by the squad once per mission... I'm not even mad if someone just fumbles it and spends it in the wrong moment, just give me the lasers!
Yes it tagets a random player and places 380 around him. If u stay together as a team u have a shield of bombardment around you which just levels everything. But you have to walk slow bc the targeting is to slow for running. I´m kinda disappointed that Buzz didn´t do some research before joining the whining. I really thought higher of him.....
Everyone wishing to enter the DSS for a "nice change in scenery" is forgetting about the knee-high feces they would have to wade through, due to no toilets being on board.
I think something to remember when something like this happens is be civil, but be insistent. Yes, they need to know when they mess up, but we need to convey that in a way that doesn't make them hate us.
Unfortunately there's only one proven method to properly convey how bad they're messing up: Total player count less than 2500. That's what it took to get decent primaries
I had hope after the 60 day plan and I had fun for a few missions. I was really excited that the game was back. But the unoptimization on pc is so out of control, it literally seizes my computer when it crashes. Have to shut my up to date pc down in order to stop the game, because it literally won’t let me do anything else. That and the out of control ragdolling had killed the game for me. I thought they were at least going to fix the ragdolling but I guess they didn’t. I’m honestly glad I stopped playing, it seems the devs are still whiplashing their player base back and forth. This game is an abuse simulator, the devs are just abusing the players and then asking for forgiveness. The game and the devs act more like a virus/cancer than an actual game and dev team. I’m sorry to myself for having spent so much money on this game, the devs have squandered it every time and I’m glad to be done. It’s up to the players to walk away for the devs to realize they messed up and fumbled their game the whole time they had it. They don’t know what they’re doing and honestly probably never have. RIP Helldivers, you used to be fun.
Sooooo...I wonder if the DSS is playing into a larger narrative. I can't believe the Devs would make something so bad...but then again, NURFS! Oh well. Let's see what happens.
For DSS operation, I thought AH would incorporate this by adding an extra stratagem to your roster and at a reduced cooldown rate, but only for the DSS planet-specific rather than all planets. An example is if the vote was for the 380, all Helldivers on the DSS planet would get the 380 every 120 seconds.
No no no!!! If anything, we should have an option to ban the 380 from a campaign. That thing is more deadly to divers than any bot or bug in the game...
@Quickstein not that hard to do if the beacon is thrown 100+ meters from you. Very very hard to do when the beacon is thrown 40 meters away on an eradicate or rocket launch defense mission, or right on top of you in any other map...
I'm not surprised arrowhead did this. From turrets that kill the helldivers more than the enemies, to the airburst rocket launcher, its very obvious these guys revel in watching helldivers perish much more than the enemy.
Arrowhead is literally known as the studio that produces the games that are about laughing as you accidentally kill your friends that's been their thing from like the beginning they definitely gotta fix the targeting for the DSS to attack indiscriminately instead of just attacking us but the stuff about the airburst and the turrets that's just you crying
That form of teamkilling is fucking hilarous because its not happening the whole fucking mission and are inherit downsides to the power of the weapon. The barrage barely fucking kills anything besides us.
I just cant believe random people on the internet have better game design ideas and choices than a full time game designer for arrowhead. Dss is complete dog shi not even worth messing with it
@@lemonsvcuts56 random people on the internet don't have to work on multiple things at once it's inevitable that a dev will screw up not making excuses but they clearly were focused on other things I mean creating new guns, weapons, armor and so on is not a quick and easy task I'm sure they'll alter it soon
That's actually something I enjoy a lot about HD2 and Arrowhead. They roleplay WITH us, not against us. They try their hardest to help us cope with their decisions and they don't really make excuses when we complain outside of needing time, which is totally fair in all cases. When they screw up, they admit they screwed up, and the game master writes a quirky line to escape breaking the 3rd wall. The patch notes are for real specs and changes, the ingame messages are for roleplay and informing players in a captivating way what is going on.
@@pieck5460not tryna hate but that's no excuse. It's their job to do those things you'd get pretty mad if you hired a plumber and he missed the leak in your attic because he was busy unclogging your toilet and honestly as far as "ideas" go you really only need one person and 15 minutes to come up with something better than what we got. From that point it's up to a few developers at AH to make it reality while the rest focus on other things. It really seems like mismanagement and laziness imo
@pieck5460 There's a clear lack of creative thinking in the dev team if the fuking dss just randomly bombards a planet with friendlies on it. It doesn't take that much to come up with a good idea, especially when there are specific jobs that are involved with game design and mechanics. It's not like a small dev team of 50. These guys have been backed by Sony for YEARS going all the way back to Magicka
I was shocked that the DSS didn’t cut strategems by like 25% for cooldown time, i felt that was the minimum for an always active space station that can only exist one 1 planet at any given time
I would really like the HELMETS to have an effect like the armors. Could be "Your sentries target what you tags" (like the ship upgrade), "orbital bombardments has 10% less cooldown" and "Eagle-01 has +1 of this payload".
This literally took all the wind and excitement for this game out for me. I honestly thought it was some kind of a joke. We need some kind of a flare or smoke system or laser pointer or something to help guide the bombs in. This is the epitome of half-ass. Last I checked Arrowhead wasn't part of EA. Come on guys fix this
They just gave us the vietnam treatment and started bombing the entire surface of the planet, not considering the friendlies or innoncents in tbe battlefield
In my honest opinion, making it so that the DSS buffs all activate at once would have been amazing. If you are unaware the helldiver’s discord was basically arguing whether the DSS’s orbital blockade would work(we put our hopes into that mechanic). We then found out the station only activates one boost at a time and our hopes just evaporated like that. With the DSS jumping back to Gael, the odds are grim. But fight hard divers, to the last man.
As a chaos diver I am insulted that you think we'd not only teamkill, but that we'd be so damned efficient at it as the DSS is. We also don't (currently) have any orders regarding the DSS. Yet.
Hell, can we put you guys in charge of the DSS? I figure you’d at least hit more enemies than the current gunners, if only so you guys could point and laugh at direct impacting random things.
When i first jumped on the planet. I wanted to see DSS first hand. I had the wrong gear on, and it saved me from being obliterated. Blast resistant and a shield backpack. I dropped a gas on a fabricator. Had an eagle 500kg ready. The barrage shell knocked me in the gas, walked out of the gas, and knocked back in from my 500kg and now being on fire. I'm so glad i had stim active. I feel like i was looking like darth vader at that point
Borbardment is bad. It constantly kills me and teammates. It killed me around 7-9 times in a mission (me alone) 3 times in the same place whne I wanted to pick up dropped samples. Hope it will get fixed fast!
I 100% believe this is functioning as intended. AH said "remember when the game came out and players loved the chaos and goofy deaths? Let's do that, but intentionally blow the players up! They'll think it's hilarious!" This was approached by AH with the mentality of an April Fools day update, and players with the mentality of the buff divers update.
"Hahaha haha. April fools I wiped your squad 4 times in 8 hrs!!! Hahaha!" Bad joke. If you want to do something funny like that then do something smaller. Like proximity mines only working against divers. Or making the lock-on launcher target a friendly every once in a while. Something that only results in a few deaths every once in a while. Not a squad wipe where we actually lose out on stuff. But since the satellite has been up its killed me more than any enemies. Literally since it dropped its been directly responsible for over half my deaths.
Yeah, I hate to admit it but that's what I think too. I think they tried to lean way too hard into the fun and goofy, without really understanding what it would entail.
@nepfix2498 think from this perspective. The story. Remember we are helldivers expendable... and new tech.. the story is new tech and bad things happen or bots had a bug in the programming.. starts rough and then it gains accuracy as story progress. This seems.planned and scripted to the story.
@@denhawkenyeah but gameplay wise? Terrible. It could make an interesting story… in like 6 months once it stops killing more divers than the enemies do.
I vote to put it in the black hole we made 😂😂 why did we even have to work 2 months for this bs...im lvl 115, basically play for love at this point... but i just cant... ima play space marine 2 till they turn it off or remove it.. this is actually ridiculous
I spent all my samples and credits and left the game. They will never bring real meaning new content. I will look in the game in 6 months if something change but after 9 months i dont think so.
This is why I keep saying, "The devs did not actually play or test their game" Keep defending them idiots players These devs have to be berated by their players, told which way is left which is right, and handholded with players feedback to do the job right. I'll be honest, at this point, why don't they just hire the players instead of keeping those morons eating paychecks. Those 60 days, they spend for balancing fix, I tell, you, they could had not do the nerf and released great weapon at their release, and would save 60 days developing new content instead.
I don’t know man. I kind of agree with the discord on this. It’s not a radical statement considering how much the same complaints are regurgitated over and over again.
"Can we move on please" ?????? What kind of statement is that FROM A DEVELOPER?! Plus its been less then a day what do you mean move on?! What kind of response to feedback is this
The DSS Barrage was not expected to be like this.. Yikes the easiest thing they can do with it and QUICKLY is give us control of the DDS 380mm give it a much shorter cooldown and maybe double the amount of shells so you can really devastate a location with it but WE control where it goes.. A better use for the Eagle buff would be that you get patrols flying over when there are Dropships or bug breaches and that can be your control factor so not just random but a fully expected and dependable passive interaction. (this would also be perfectly viable to have all buffs going at same time as its less load on the game)
The bombardment is not haphazard, random or nonstop. It rains down when a HD is within 150m or so to an enemy unit. So if HD are separating during a mission then there is bombardments everywhere and nonstop.
That’s all well and good until you have to go into an outpost to set off a hellbomb and get exploded because the shells land nonstop even if every bot in the area is taken out.
Not true, I was in a duo game with my friend on super helldive, he jokingly said "oh no the DSS will kill us unless we stick incredibly close together" about two seconds after he said that it landed on both of us killing us instantly. I will be honest, that death was quite funny, but the 8 other dss fatalities were just annoying
It’s genuinely baffling that they went with this instead of just making it enable 380mm orbital strategems for everyone with a reduced cooldown. That would have been AMAZING. This is a nightmare.
Helpful passives? Logistical bonuses? Experimental stratagems? Nah. Give the bots access to the 380 cannons? Yeah buddy. Geez what a letdown. Totally creatively bankrupt in execution.
EDIT - Please pay attention to what I say about the discord bot response. I DO acknowledge the points about keeping it civil, but the tone taken in the second half is what I am referring to.

@Talsedoom Wild right?

Or Orbital Laser
Rail Canon would be a lot better
It would be good, but there's a cinematic element to the 380 barrage making the planet actually feel like a warzone. I just think they need to fix it so it doesn't teamkill. A no fire radius around each helldiver. I also think it's a mistake to limit it to one of the 2 between this and eagle storm
I was preaching for orbital rail symphony and super Earth laser shows.
Broo love this idea
I stand by my "Ram the DSS Into Cyberstan for Shits and Giggles" stance even more
I vibe with this my dude, but would they let it happen ? Pretty sure the automatons should have taken super earth a couple of months back and their progress just “stopped”. I think the DSS would develop some form of plot armour and survive. I guess there’s still some elements of the Dev. Vs player attitude.
Okay, calm down, Abbadon the Despoiler.

Getting one force trying to destroy us to destroy itself and damage another force trying to destroy us seems like a good tactical move to me.
Let the seas boil, let the stars fall, though it takes the last drop of our blood, WE WILL SEE THE GALAXY FREED ONCE MORE, and if we cannot save the universe from Super Earth's failure THEN LET THE GALAXY BURN!
absolutely hate this fearmongering “game is dead” “unplayable” mentality whenever something goes remotely wrong

Dude, when my group attempted a mission, we almost failed because the dss kept directly impacting us. It was insane. We spent a good portion of the mission trying to find the pattern, but standing in one spot resulted in two of us getting wiped off the face of the planet.
Edit: not gonna lie, I kinda want to experience the airstrike just to see how batshit it is
A bomb never explode at the same place two times in a row.
@Vespyr_ brah it actually is just the traitor detected mortars, but with more randomness
I think it shoot if some bot are around you, I don't know the range required between you an bot to trigger it, but even that, the DSS bombardment is just not great. You want to destroy a fabricator, what do you think that is close to that... bots.... so the DSS will rain down 380 on the spot... before DSS ... the fabricator would have been destroy in second, but now... you could spend 5-6 helldiver before being able to be close enough to destroy the fabricator.

arrowhead does not playtest 100% confirmed
So, buisness as usual then.
They didn't even NEED to playtest to know that it was a horrible idea..
Hell Diver, we are always the guinea pigs. For Managed Democracy
I don't think even the most amateur and ignorant game dev would think that instantly dying or being rag dolled randomly throughout the entirety of the gameplay is a good idea.
Correct. Malice, not incompetence
Yes, unless you're literally making qwop😂😂😂
The question is was it play tested at ALL? Our very first mission with a friends after a hiatus of game was terrible experience.
Around 4/5 deaths were random shell landing on you with little you could do about it.
The game is killed just because of a bad new feature? What an overreaction.
Well, it surely gained 6 figures view didnt it
The DSS actions should have been extra stratagems for us to take into battle.
100% agree. No idea why they thought constant orbital barrages we can't control was a good idea
Why wouldn't it just be a permanent stratagem that you can throw on the planet youre on? I thought that would have been obvious..... but I guess not.
Arrowhead overhyped the DSS by making 2 months of MO's for it, then the actual release is a lazy and untested catastrophe...
I honestly thought it wouldn’t even do anything but give a slight buff yet somehow they managed to make something even worse 😭

They already hate you. They make you farm for months so they can kill you. Thats...unheard of.
Problem is, they mess up constantly. In any other job, these employees would be fired for incompetence.
they are already openly hostile to us they are dropping our asses like fucking cows in a slaughterhouse fuck civility
In other words, communicate and voice concerns like a normal person.
Unfortunately there's only one proven method to properly convey how bad they're messing up:
Total player count less than 2500.
120?!?! WR NEED 60 SECONDS
No no no!!! If anything, we should have an option to ban the 380 from a campaign. That thing is more deadly to divers than any bot or bug in the game...
@@Shocktrue1 A targeted 380 barrage is harmless to you if you stay 60-80 meters away from the beacon. Not that hard to do
@Quickstein not that hard to do if the beacon is thrown 100+ meters from you. Very very hard to do when the beacon is thrown 40 meters away on an eradicate or rocket launch defense mission, or right on top of you in any other map...
Waited months and voted to be shelled within 10 seconds of dive. Return to ship alive 😮
@@therandomcommenter6629 Yea no it stops being funny when more players die than enemies. Quit sucking arrowhead dong.
They just don't play their game at all. It's pretty clear this kind of stuff would fail play testing immediately.
That form of teamkilling is fucking hilarous because its not happening the whole fucking mission and are inherit downsides to the power of the weapon.
The barrage barely fucking kills anything besides us.
@@therandomcommenter6629yeah you’re completely correct, they made the magicka games ffs, friendly fire can be absolutely hilarious with friends.
Sounds like they promoted one of those toxic moderators from early this year to developer and now they have the power to directly ruin the game.
How about giving the host the ability to bombard specific areas on the mini-map?
You are a genius!
I have a feeling they will patch it and say “the DSS did not operate as intended” to cover up the bad design choice.
I was shocked that the DSS didn’t cut strategems by like 25% for cooldown time, i felt that was the minimum for an always active space station that can only exist one 1 planet at any given time
7:14 Buzz is learning that you can't do the drop and grab trick on the shells anymore. 😅
THEY FIX IT????
also took me a minute to find that out.. i thought i was doing it wrong.
I just saw three shells thrown.
Just do the throw he does at 7:31 that's what I always do over the spam grabbing
@@angerskarin9222I thought I was too drunk lol
I would really like the HELMETS to have an effect like the armors.
Could be "Your sentries target what you tags" (like the ship upgrade), "orbital bombardments has 10% less cooldown" and "Eagle-01 has +1 of this payload".
Sounds like it's doing what it's supposed to be doing since Super Earth doesn't care about Helldivers.
Come on guys fix this
One last thing, they obviously do not test things properly. 5 minutes would have shown them how bad this was.
They just gave us the vietnam treatment and started bombing the entire surface of the planet, not considering the friendlies or innoncents in tbe battlefield
Sadly you can't fix stupid. Unless the entire community rages at them non-stop they are incapable of making an intelligent game decisions.
Maybe the real DSS is the friends we made along the way 😊
You might be onto something here…
worst part of all of this is that there is in fact people that like getting killed by it
im not kidding i have seen them myself, the glazing is crazy
@@Grimm9890 they deadass think dying by bullshi is fun. Getting constantly bombarded with the screen shaking every 10 seconds gets super old quick
Go cry about it you sound like a person that hate seeing others have fun
As creek veteran I really think y’all are overthinking this and the dss seems awesome to me
In my honest opinion, making it so that the DSS buffs all activate at once would have been amazing.
I feel like i was looking like darth vader at that point
their closet is full of em.
Borbardment is bad. It constantly kills me and teammates. It killed me around 7-9 times in a mission (me alone) 3 times in the same place whne I wanted to pick up dropped samples. Hope it will get fixed fast!
The DSS felt like it hit me and my fellow divers more than the actual enemy. It was fun for a couple missions, but it got annoying really fast.
Couldn't agree more mate - it's really crazy tbh. Thanks for covering it!
I 100% believe this is functioning as intended. AH said "remember when the game came out and players loved the chaos and goofy deaths? Let's do that, but intentionally blow the players up! They'll think it's hilarious!"
This was approached by AH with the mentality of an April Fools day update, and players with the mentality of the buff divers update.
"Hahaha haha. April fools I wiped your squad 4 times in 8 hrs!!! Hahaha!"
Bad joke.
So much time spent to acquire the Democracy Shit Station
Grow up use the real name for the thing
Landed on a planet and immediately the team was wiped… continued until reinforcements were gone lmfao “so much fun” 🙄
It’s actually easier to survive outside of the map compared to inside with the new DSS
“One time is funny, two times is fuckin annoying no?” - Vaas
Killed their own game is really extreme title considering ITS JUST ONE SINGLE PLANET THIS IS HAPPENING ON
This is what crydiver and crydiving content creators do..
Clickbait gonna clickbait.
That said: It sucks balls when the DSS is hovering over a MO-relevant planet. Hope it gets fixed soon.
Tought of the fact that we build this thing 2 months for getting killed? And nothing else
I vote to put it in the black hole we made 😂😂
why did we even have to work 2 months for this bs...im lvl 115, basically play for love at this point... but i just cant... ima play space marine 2 till they turn it off or remove it.. this is actually ridiculous
I spent all my samples and credits and left the game. They will never bring real meaning new content. I will look in the game in 6 months if something change but after 9 months i dont think so.
This is why I keep saying,
"The devs did not actually play or test their game"
Keep defending them idiots players
These devs have to be berated by their players, told which way is left which is right, and handholded with players feedback to do the job right.
I'll be honest, at this point, why don't they just hire the players instead of keeping those morons eating paychecks.
Those 60 days, they spend for balancing fix,
I tell, you, they could had not do the nerf and released great weapon at their release, and would save 60 days developing new content instead.
I don’t know man. I kind of agree with the discord on this. It’s not a radical statement considering how much the same complaints are regurgitated over and over again.
Where's the "just get good" crowd
Probably complaining with us 😂
They’re there. “Just know the patterns where the shells land”
Illuminate or bust
"Can we move on please"
?????? What kind of statement is that FROM A DEVELOPER?!
Plus its been less then a day what do you mean move on?!
What kind of response to feedback is this
Arrogance Head.
What's wrong with that Dino response? Feel free to discuss it but do so in a civil manner. That seems reasonable. Why are you upset about that?
The bombardment is not haphazard, random or nonstop. It rains down when a HD is within 150m or so to an enemy unit. So if HD are separating during a mission then there is bombardments everywhere and nonstop.
Simply not true, I remained with my squadmate the entire mission and I had shells land DIRECTLY ON ME. Explain that.
They didn’t kill the game. It just brought out the latest batch of cry babies.
They’ll fix it.
