      I was blessed to have a dad but as a teacher, I see so many students struggling without both parents and in some cases none at all. I watch your videos and very much love how you teach things like making pumpkin seeds or hanging Xmas lights because so many people simply do not know how to do these things. God bless you and thank you for all you teach.

      It seems when it snows people forget how to drive.

    • @awarose
      @awarose 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm from Sweden so we normally have a lot of snow, this year so far have been an exception with just a day before it was gone where I live.
      First of all it is way better to have winter tires they are made to colder weather, have a slightly different tread design to get better grip on snow and ice and some have studs.
      Secondly drive as normal just way slower if the normal speed is 70km/h you might need to drive as slow as 30km/h on days where its icy or the snow is melting and like slush.
      It takes longer to break so be prepared and its also best if you can to break a bit slower and carefully so the tires don't just lock up and you continue to slide if that happens you need to release the brake and try to break again and this is where a lot of accidents happen because it feels so unnatural and you won't do it instinctively. Most decently new cars have ABS wich prevents the tires from locking up and it's a lot better to prevent getting into a skid.
      If you get in a skid steer against where you want to go not where the car is going, if it's a really bad skid and you are just spinning steer fully against the skid if the car is spinning left steer fully to the right, whatever you do never steer in the direction that the car is spinning you will just loose all control. In Sweden we actually have to go to a training facility to test this before getting our license, its super fun in a controlled environment 🙃 😀 some (mostly younger guys) also drive arround trying to skid wich isn't exactly leagal, but they at least get some practice in case of accidentally skidding.
      If the problem instead are piles of snow with no tire marks from someone else you need speed to not get stuck in the middle, but at the same time not so much that you just slam into the snow or can't be in control after you get through, a bigger car with more ground clearance is preferred, 4 weel drive also helps, but even smaller cars with 2 wheel drive can manage pretty well, it takes some practice but it's not to hard because you only need to do what feels normal.
      Don't drive if you don't feel that you and your car can handle the weather, you will get more used to driving in snow with some practice and in time you can manage most situations and driving in snow will just feel normal or even boring, but sometimes it's just best to wait for the plow.
      Be prepared, accidents happen, have warm clothes and maybe something to drink (good if you get a bit schoked by whatever happened) if you get stuck, a showel in the trunk might help you get out by yourself, also some sand or something else that helps you get more grip. Always have a rope or cable to pull you with in the car because if you get stuck then maybe a passer by can pull you out, if none of you have cables you need to wait for someone else or call for professional help, wich can be expensive.

    I lost my dad in April but it also really felt like I never had a dad. He put alcohol before everything else, including his kids. There are so many basic things I wish I knew how to do around the house that he never cared to teach me. Its so embarrassing having to call someone out for the most simple tasks. So from this guy who lost his alcoholic father, thank you for showing me what a good father does around the house.

    • @xvaldez3284
      @xvaldez3284 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Pretty easy honestly. The directions usually come with the ham. Basically wrap it in foil put it in a tray and heat it in the oven at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes per pound. If it comes with a glaze you just sprinkle it on after it's done baking and broil it for a few minutes. Just be sure to keep a close eye on it cause it doesn't take long for it to melt

    My own boys are grown and moved out of the house now but when I heard about this channel, I HAD to stop in and say thank you for what you're doing here! My father left when I was 3 (50 years ago) and though my mother remarried, I never have much of a father figure to learn from in my life at all. What a difference someone like you could have made...if we'd had internet! lol My own (now grown) sons didn't have a father who taught them many things, either On behalf of all of the mothers trying to do this alone and all of the kids that don't have a dad to teach them, I again say THANK YOU!

    Hi,
    i found out about what you're doing on youtube recently. I really appreciate it, that you started this series.
    I am meanwhile 20 and even though my mom did her best, I had to figure a lot out myself.
    Just wanted to thank you for putting so much effort and helping others, especially children, out.
    Thank You.

    My dad never decorated the outside of the house for xmas, my mom hires people to do it, and my father-in-law decorates his front lawn primarily with plastic blow molds (and he has quite the collection) so neither my husband nor I had ANY idea how to do this - thank you for these videos, they're so helpful!

    I saw an Instagram post about this youtube and I didn't believe it at first but when you said he kids it warmed my heart. I'm 17 years old and I lost my dad when I was 3 years old, due to a drink driver hitting him. I had 1 strong father figure in my life (my uncle) who passed away when I was 12 from luikemia cancer. So you saying hey kids just made me feel better. I don't know why or how but it really did.

    Only just found your channel. I haven’t ever had a dad to tell me how to do things. I’m 43 now and wing it. Both my mum and dad turned their back on me when my brother abused me so thanks so much! Will know how to put lights up now!

    My dad walked out of my life on a February and the Christmas lights stayed up because he never took them down. My now father in law was giving me a ride home one day and made a sweet joke saying "I love this house because it's always Christmas here." But I never realized that no one in my house had taken them down because no one in my house could or knew how. I took it upon myself to climb my roof and take them down by swinging down by the lights (very incorrectly and dangerous, I may add) but it felt so liberating. Thank you for teaching me how to put Christmas lights back up ❤ Can't wait for you to teach me the correct way to take Christmas lights down.

    Love how you made this video. My dad died a few years ago and I always watched him do Christmas lights but never knew exactly how he hung them. Thanks
