I have a good advice for all. Every one here should own an air compressor designed for tire vehicle and keep it inside the trunk. It's good for pumping up a flat tire, drive to a nearby tire shop, and get a tire replacement or repair. If you don't like it, thumbs down on me.

Couple big sister tips, the yellow sticker on the spare usually has the max millage that you should drive on it as well as speed because spares aren’t able to take the same speeds or distance as regular tires.
If you’re changing the tire in the winter try giving the tire a quick rinse off with some really hot water to help melt down the ice and salt that have hardened around the lug nuts and between the tire and the wheel.

Even if you don't have someone to teach it to you like a father.
Throughout life you will learn most things. Also. Don't be afraid to ask a cousin/uncle/neighbor/friends dad or someone to teach you .
Or with certain things (maybe not as big as tire changing) just try. Look how it's put together and think how you could fix it. Try something.
Even if it isn't from your dad, yeah it's easier. But still, you will learn it.

Anyone that says ‘it’s not important, you’re a girl.’
It’s complete BS. Because there are many single mothers/fathers teaching their kid/children how to change their tire. You never know when it needs to be done.
Especially for girls, they do not need to be placed in a sigma of ‘I can’t do anything.’ Not saying all girls are like that. But we know there are some girls that like to play that role.
I know my mother (widowed, father passed very early in my life) taught me at a young age to do so of these things. Especially when I got to the age of driving, she told me that I don’t know how to do the basic things for my vehicle. I didn’t need a vehicle or drivers license. She let me know first hand that not everyone will help you, so best to have this for your own knowledge & maybe teach someone who doesn’t know.
Thank you for being that person stepping up to show everyone! 😁

One important element I'd like to add is: know where the jack is in your car. Know where the spare tire is. Get them out and look at them before you're in an emergency. When you're driving somewhere, know what number you're going to call if you want a tow. Alternatively: in the US, there's Roadside Assistance in many areas, so watch for the signs advertising the number. (Roadside Assistance saved my life once! So now anytime I drive more than an hour i'm always looking for the signs with the local roadside assistance number.)
    Thanks for the great video!

You have no idea, how much I needed to learn how to change a tire! On two occasions I had to go to a tire shop, and at another ocasión I had to wave someone to help me change my tire. Tomorrow I’m going to look in my trunk to see if I have a Jack, and a spare in good condition. Thank you so much! Sincerely, Mary Jane

THANK YOU for telling us the spare tire is NOT a replacement. My dad and i share a truck and one day my friend asked to borrow it to help her move out of her apartment and the tire blew out out of nowhere! Since my dad and I share it, I assumed he'd know if it were a bad tire we were using since he has a general knowledge of vehicle maintenance. Roadside Assistance helped her out and I was so embarrassed and ashamed I'd lent my friend a truck with a bad tire. They hooked up the spare I had, and later I asked my father how long would the spare last and he told me a few weeks or so. That tire blew out 2 days later at another friends house where I was supposed to pick her up and take her out to eat, and HER dad had to help me. I was so thankful, but also saddened that my friend's father was more caring about my well being than my own, and was very surprised I was driving around on a spare. I feel horrible to this day knowing not only could I have gotten seriously hurt, but also my passenger. Thank you for making these videos, you're helping so many people!

It just depends on the tire. Some vehicles, like Jeeps usually, have a spare that’s the same as the other 4. You’d probably be fine driving on that until payday or whatever but you’d still wanna get it fixed because now you have one brand new tire and 3 that aren’t, lol.

I really appreciate this man. My sister has kids and she doesn't know how to do anything. Her husband (not their father) also doesn't know how to do anything. I'm a woman and have been teaching them everything I know from changing oil to basic plumbing. Now I can show them this channel.

I’ve always wanted to know how to change a tire! Now I know. Thanks Dad. I don’t know if I can even call you that cause I’m 35... but I appreciate you 🙏🏽 Happy early Fathers Day. Now I have a reason to celebrate ❤️ p.s. gotta love how you said thank you for watching just before you showed us something you forgot to show us lol 💖 pure gold 💛💛💛

Thank you! I'm a 32 year old woman and was never taught about vehicles and their maintenance from my dad since I'm a woman. I really appreciate this video!

Good tips about the block and the star pattern! "Some are pretty hokey" 🤣 love it! That's a pro tip too putting on and off 2 of the nuts at a time 👍 Huh. I didn't know some nuts don't have a cap on one side. "Everybody say yes right? You're not gonna keep driving on it" 🤣👍🙌
Only thing I would have maybe added is saying "go around the star pattern twice to verify they are all tight because as you tighten them on the first pass it will shift and they won't all be completely tight (the second pass is to fix that and verify that they are equally tight)" You did it but I would have maybe explained the why and importance of the second pass but maybe that's obvious? 🤷‍♀️
