      Honestly, an average Joe such as myself was blown away by the sound and the way the bass and percussion vibrates and massages the inner ear. Can get verrry loud too. This is coming from someone who's accustomed to the sound of $30 Amazon buds and the Nothing ear 1s that just broke on me. Sony finally created a niche product that is perfect for me; no more pulling them out of my ears to talk and I can finally have them in my ear outside and still hear the birds chirping and not have to worry about the serial killer roaming the forest. I've got them in my ears as I type this! 😄
      Edit: Still going strong 2 months later, daily drivers and I couldn't be more happy.

      They have zero sealing because thats by design. That's the purpose of these, to have no seal whatsoever. They should never be compared to the Airpods, either by design or concept. They sound excellent to me, tons of detail, crisp highs and more than enough volume provided you mess with the EQ. A game of opinions.

      Finally, a decent comment regarding these. I swapped my Galaxy Buds Live out for the LinkBuds and use them while cycling, going for walks at night where keeping your wits about you is essential, and even cleaning around the house. When I am ready for deep album listening, and to shut the world out, I have my XM3s for that. These should not be bought for rich musical experiences, they're more "in addition to" earbuds; you're adding music in addition to your surroundings, which I love my LinkBuds for.
      People who complain about lack of bass and noise cancellation with these specifically designed transparent/ambient ear buds are like complaining that your cheap hatchback doesn't have the ability to go off-road like an off-road vehicle can.
      They're not made for that.

    • @Mazakanubis
      @Mazakanubis 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@IshmaelSimpson I'm still loving mine! Only complaint is they don't seem to stop playback if I take both out and stuff em in my pocket, cuz I do turn the stop to speak off feature enough. That's still mostly user learning curve I think. I went on vacation and got to use them in abnormal situations, more than every day life. Though I still love them for walking my dog.

    • @IshmaelSimpson
      @IshmaelSimpson 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Mazakanubis I suppose they don't stop playback when in your pocket because they think they're in your ears. It's the proximity sensor - I don't think there's anything you can do about that other than turning them off manually with the app. I'm glad you love yours though! Mine go with me everywhere. They're honestly great for cycling and long walks. They fit my ears much better than the Buds Live did and the call quality with noise cancellation is excellent.

    I think different ear shape will lead to different sound quality or volume. I got these and when I put them in the ear the way they show you, with the donut showing, it’s a little soft. But I rotate mine inside my ear with the donut behind my ear flap, the sound is fantastic and plenty loud. The sound is better then my power beats pro. The base isn’t going to explode anything. But its crisp and you can hear it. The mids and highs are amazing. I honestly think it comes down to your ear shape, some people might be able to get great sound, some might get trash. For their purpose of hearing music or audio books and still hearing the world around you, they’re fantastic.

    got these recently primarily for working. Having the office open back up and what not. one of the things i would point out flossy is that the volume REALLY depends on how you have the ear bud positioned in your ear. Because of the ring design if you position it away from the ear canal the volume is really cut off. and yea the bass is not that good cuz they literally have a hole in em. but if you rocking headphones for 8+ hours at work need to hear everything around you then these are kings. Wasn't expecting much going in, but genuinely dead on. These are utterly fantastic in conjunction with another pair of IEMs and or TWL, because there are so many moments in my day to day where I *need* to hear my surroundings but would absolutely love to have some background music, podcast or an audiobook playing in the background, in these situations quality doesn't really matter. A dream of mine since I was a kid is to have ambient background music like a TV show, movie or video game lol and since I have long hair most people can't see my ears to begin with so something like this is a dream come true for me. That said, for things like breaks at work, if I'm alone, I really care about sound quality and these just don't cut it, I think for around a hundred (how much I paid, actually!) these are absolutely worth it.
    I think the majority of reviewers, both negative and positive, need to realize that these are EXTREMELY niche and I'd say for the majority of people are outright trash - however for the right person, these are a genuine lifesaver.

    I bought these and wore them for a day and dug the open earbud concept. Almost like wearing the Bose sunglasses. The music is low but better than the sunglasses. Had to return them and went for some airpod pros. For 10 dollars more you get so much better sound and great transparency. If I had android I would’ve bought the soundcore liberty 3 pro.

      I agree, I’d take these over the Sunglasses only because those speakers are outside of your ear, at least these do sit inside. I’m gonna keep them for phone calls and when I’m at my desk, but that’s about as far as they going 😂

      @@FlossyCarter I’ll give Sony credit though. The call quality is damn near airpod quality. I love the small case, no wireless charging is a shame though. Also the fit can be a bit of a struggle, I had to go through 2 of those loops for my ear because it wouldn’t sit in my ear.
      People think because they’re unique and you’re able to skip songs by tapping your cheek they are worth it. I’m just glad they didn’t go over 200. I appreciate the honesty. As someone who is blind, I typically just have one earbud in or if I’m wearing headphones one ear covered because I need to hear my surroundings to some degree most of the time, to me the concept of these is awesome. But I also value quality sound so they would not be the ear buds for me. I think that if Sony took this design and created a modular peace that could twist lock into the center of the donut and create a better seal and maybe even have electrical contacts that trigger that modular piece to do active noise cancellation, they would have an incredible product here.

    Floss, I got these earbuds for three use cases
    1. For video and phone calls while working from home when I need to be aware of deliveries at the front door
    2. When driving with my family and I want to listen to an audiobook or podcast
    3. I put in one earbud at night and play a podcast or white noise to help me fall asleep.
    These are very good for these three use cases. The sound quality for calls and the cancelling of noise around me so that the listener can hear me is better than the Sony XM4s and the AirPods Pro, as per the 20 or so people I’ve polled
    They are as comfortable for side sleeping as the Galaxy Beans.
    These aren’t for music listening.
    2 quick thoughts, the donut needs to be positioned correctly on your ear canal for proper volume. These should be 80-100 bucks, and not positioned primarily as music oriented.
    I use these in rotation with two ANC beasts and a set for audiophiles, The Sony WF1000 XM4, the AirPods Pro and the B&W iP7’s.

    Well, I just got them, and thankfully, I have no clue what you're talking about? Are you sure you tested them correctly? Because I am very happy to say, I love them. They sound even better than my previous open headphones (Samsung buds live). These Sony's sound very spacial, not too bassy, just perfect. Also the volume is comparable to the Samsungs, not louder but about the same. I'm not sure how you can hate them so much. Maybe yours are defective?

    Flossy.....................fit is EVERYTHING with these LinkBuds earphones. Did you go with the LARGEST ear hook possible for each ear?! This makes ALL the difference IMO.
    I started with the default Medium ones at first, but found that although they stayed in my ears when I moved, it still shifted a little and I had to boost the volume way up.
    Once I went up to Large and Extra Large (my left side ear is a bit smaller), it SIGNIFICANTLY made a difference to me. Once they're in, rotate forward a bit, then slightly back for the BEST FIT!
    I also lowered the bass on my Poweramp's app's bass EQ bars (farthest left-side 3 bars), and also boosted the PRE-AMP as well. This kills the "overblown bass speaker/subwoofer" sound issue completely. Basically, I just took the "Rock" EQ setting and did the above. They sit in place MUCH better than before too!
    Now they sound incredible, and are loud enough even when I'm outside working out. But FIT and EQ'ing DOES matter, but I'd argue fit even more.
    I'll agree that the Wide Area Tap is gimmicky to a point at least, but if you live in the Midwest and the winter comes and you need to wear a hat, it is nice that you don't have to lift up your hat to switch to the next song, play/pause, adjust the volume, etc.
