12 years ago I started a new job that required a lot of travel so I bought a pair of Sony wired noise canceling earbuds. I still use them to this day! Was waiting for the right tech to come together and this is it. To have wireless noise cancellation earbuds like these is an incredible technology leap in a decade. Can’t wait to get them!
The best part about the WF-1000XM5 is the fact that hopefully it will motivate Soundcore to push out Liberty 4 Pros

Pre ordered these earlier today. I do a lot of welding & stuff in a noisy shop and needed some new ones I can abuse while blocking out sound. & the charging is a big deal. The more I can keep them constantly in my ears is better for me 💯

Hope they fix the battery drain issue from previous early model XM4. Mine been in service centre 2time for battery exchange. Even with update 2.0.1 it still drain like crazy

Just got mine today. Just right off the bat - the ANC is impressive!!! I think it may be even a little better than my Bose Quiet Comfort II's. This makes it worth the money alone for me. But the multi-point connection seals the deal. I'm happy with this purchase. Your review is spot on

Apparently, people have said the battery stops lasting after they get some age.
@@DrivenA111yeah they do have aluminium ion batteries, as most devices do. they will wear down, but i had my xm4's for a bit over 2 years. never ran out of battery, even though the battery life did get a bit worse over time. but if sony keeps making these xm5's even after they release the xm6's, their price will most definitely go down. brand new budget earbuds!

One quick suggestion if you think it's worth it - try using samsung call recording feature (not sure if it's available in your region) to showcase environmental noise cancellation on calls. The fact that these are cancelling wind noise to zero is unbelievable and I would've loved to listen to a sample!

I chose these based on this review - Flossy! I couldn't be happier. I have had a couple other Sony buds but these are a big step forward. The size and weight to start are a game changer for Sony. Dialing in the EQ makes these things aing. Sony has always had great features and that remains true with these buds.

I just ordered the B&O Beoplay EX. All thanks to you. They may not have perfect ANC or wind isolation. But good material and clear sounds is needed, because they check all other boxes

I have the XM4s. Sounded great especially in terms of bass. One problem, I have normal size ears. The XM4s never stayed in my ears properly. Almost lost them several times. Glad to see the XM5s are smaller.

Thank you for the demo on these earbuds Flossy. I bought these today and I totally agree with you. The noise cancelling from these earbuds, is scary, when you find the right ear tips for it. And the bass from these headphones, they are JUST like my WH-1000XM4's that I've got. Bone rattling (for lack of a better word).

I clicked fast ASF! EDIT: I loved Sony earbuds for years until the XM4s. B&O EQ's sound quality is insane. If they had Sony ANC they would be ultimate God tier.
I'm surprised by how much floss likes the B&O. I tried them and thought they were nice but not for the price to performance but I loved the design of the B&O with the blue. But Floss is the only reviewer I actually trust on TH-cam.

I'm looking for earbuds that are Android-focused, and *have wireless charging* (I also have the RGB wireless charger from Razer, I fell in love when I saw your review of the charger).
These WF-1000XM5 fit PERFECTLY besides my headphones and I'm super happy that they have wireless charging.

The size and weight of the M4's is why I took them back and went with Galaxy buds pro 2.
The 4's sounded better and had a better battery life but the weight was a deal breaker for me

@@cdb7876 Varta CP1254, its not a proprietary battery so you canbuy them almost anywhere (bought mine online). You can open them just by prying it on the side and the procedure is quite simple. Ill look for the video and send it here.

Man I'm real tempted by these. Got the XM4s and while I enjoy them, they do feel pretty big. The XM5s address a lot of the problems I have with the XM4 and the case is actually real close in size to the Airpods Pros. Might wait for the price to drop a bit though, $300 feels a bit steep
I'm in the same dilemma. Wondering whether it's better to wait till the holiday sales. But I'll be traveling soon and I'm debating whether the better ANC will be worth it.

A sony update screw that up. When i buy these im gonna turn off auto update and will install in only after a few weeks if i see people are happy with the update
I had left mine in the case for a few days and come back to left one 20% right one 60% had the m4s for under a year and also if my left one is fully charged it will last about 40mins.

Great video as always. Curious to see what Bose brings out in response. I picked up some QC2s earlier in the year after two pairs of Razer buds failed on me back to back. I wasn't necessarily looking for ANC but I came to love it. And the wings. I must have something with the shape of my left ear because buds shaped like the Sony's will always fall out of my left ear for some reason. With the wings on the Bose they actually stay in.
I'm Bose then it comes to these. I have the Gen 1 QC buds, but the competition is steep. I heard the new Denon Perl Pros is great.
I hope Bose step up this year..

Honest question, Floss. Long time fan here. Love what you do. I’ve been watching a lot of headphone, ear bud reviews and the thing that stands out to me is that many other vloggers (DHRME comes to mind), play actual samples of sound, noise cancelling, pass through. You just play what you hear and describe it. It’s subjective. Will you ever take it to the next level and let your fans hear what you actually hear or is it always gonna be a “just listen to my reaction as I listen to the buds”? I’m always gonna be here for you and White Shoes. I just wanna keep it real and give honest feedback. Don’t be mad. I ain’t hating.
Looks and sound excellent. But I'm skeptical to get the first batch of this product. Based on my experience, when I purchase my XM4, the battery sucks after 6 months and fortunately warranty still applies and they replaced it. But this XM5 will in my wish list and when the software is stable.
Xm5 and 15 pro max are on my wishlist and I have my reasons. #1. My current earbuds (soundcore life dot 3i) have Bluetooth issues and battery issues. They hardly stay in my ears even with the biggest ear tips. #2 my 13 pro max has touch screen issues that are hard to explain.

Got the Beoplay EX thanks to Flossy’s recommendation and will not get anything else until they are dethroned. Easily the best sounding buds I’ve ever used.
How is the fit on those? Kinda tired of feeling like my b&o EQ's are about to fall out.

@@Kasper0822they are good bro. Defintly dosnt fall out. But like the first day or two they can hurt a bit. But now, like 3 weeks after getting them they are more than comfortable. I will say doe. They sound amazing, but if u dosnt listening on like 80-100% volyme they sound the same as any other earbuds. For me atleast. But with 80%+ volyme and max bass they sound amazing. The bass really suprised me
B&O EX are the best I’ve used yet! Floss was spot on with them!
After listening to the Beoplay EX for a while and switch to something else, it's just not the same. My other speakers do not get used much. The EX are phenomenal.

The XM4 also had the temporary transparency mode. It was definitely a nice feature.
XM4 failed after the Software Update for so many buyers with destroying battery life.

They effectively broke ones who had the update, but the replacement I had didn'thave any issues. Back then I did see the changelog refer to battery issues being fixed, so this must be what you're talking about right?
I’m really hoping B&O gets their transparency and anc up to AirPod and XM5 levels with the next beoplay iteration. Was hoping these would manage to sound better but I’m still gonna test them out against the EX myself

I absolutely agree wit Flossy. As for sound quality, my Beoplay Ex are out of this world. I use my comply ear tips for the gym, and never have to adjust them. Everyone that hears them are in disbelief at the sound. Great review Floss.
