The Ruger PC Carbine is beyond reliable and the weight helps keep it on target! I shoot one in PCC comp with a Volquartsen TG9 trigger, Armanov compensator and a Trijicon MRO, the gun rocks!! 👍🏼
She shoots fine and looks great and accurate enough just not my cup of tea. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already. Thanks again
Me and my 16yo daughter do not have this issue… My daughter is small and skinny she only had experience with a gsg16 and for the last two weeks she’s been shooting with the ruger and she loves it… So try it out for yourself…. Especially in canada this is one of the best 9mm option we have to buy…
I love my Ruger PCC. It’s the perfect camp carbine for when you want to just carry one caliber bullet (9mm) for your handgun and a rifle. The weight makes the gun such a perfect flat shooter with super quick follow up shots. The rapport of the 9mm is much more pleasant than 5.56 or larger caliber rifles. When using Glock mags, you only need those single type for when you carry a Glock 19 or 17 as a sidearm. That fact alone aids in convenience for the shooter. It makes reloading and transitioning from a Glock handgun to a rifle and vise versa. The 9mm bullet out of a 16” barrel really “ups” the capabilities of the caliber load itself. It’s a perfect small to medium game rifle if you need it for that fact and offers quick, less expensive follow up shots on smaller game animals. My brother in law uses his to control feral hogs that destroy his land. It’s also perfect for pests like raccoons and possums in rural areas of one’s property or camp. Its nice for smaller pig, javalena, predator and deer hunting with the right expanding bullet. It even works on rabbits with a simple FMJ to the head, without destroying edible meat. It’s a great self defense weapon for 125 yds, like remote camping places and when one needs to reach out just a tad further than when using a 9mm handgun. It’s stupid accurate with the iron sights it comes with. It’s portability with the take-down feature allows one to carry it “low profile” in a backpack. Yeah it’s heavy, but so what it serves a useful purpose. It’s a great starter rifle for beginners, when moving up from say a Ruger 10/22 .22LR semi auto. Low recoil, less rapport, less expensive ammo than true rifle calibers…. It’s hard to beat a great “tool,” one can choose for specific purposes. I’d never sell it. I was lucky to buy mine from a dealer for $600 in 2021 with the M-LOK hand guard.
I was on a prairie dog hunt and decided to set aside the AR and try my Ruger PCC in 40 S&W. Made some really easy shots around a hundred yards and then decided to try some at longer range. Hunting with other hunters who confirmed my prairie dog kill at 400 yds. It took two shots to find the range and then smoked him on the third shot. 180 grain cast bullet. 👍
@SSSnexus all day the FPC or Ruger LC 45/10mm or my favorite the Grand Power Stribog. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
I agree it weighs a bit more than it should. It hit me by surprise, when I was picking mine up at a store. Having said that, it’s fine for what it is, weight and all. Reality is most people buy it for home defense, not to carry around in the field for hours.
I can agree with that for the most part. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already. Forgive me if I have already ask you that but we can’t see a subscriber list and they all start running together. Thanks again
@@GSquaredTactical The magpul backpacker stock helps with the weight and feels more balanced. You also get the benefit of using MLOK attachments. Just keep it simple with a light and optics of your choice.
Bought a used classic style one for $399.00. Keep it handy for home defense and as a Jeep gun. Goes with us to Colorado and Utah when we hit the trails.
Nicely detailed video but a bit over the top to sell a quality-made gun just because it weighs a little bit heavier. The gun wasnt made to be carrying around all day. It was made for sport shooting and home defense. Even if you do carry it a lot throughout the day, just put the sling on it . Schit, I'm not big guy, just weigh 170 lbs, but even back in my teenage years I still carried my dad's 1970's Savage 12ga pump all day when I was hunting deer, and when it got a bit heavy for comfort while carrying it through the woods I just simply slung it on my shoulder and good to go.
I understand what you are saying. However I own over 100 guns and my night stand, truck, pocket carry edc and OWB winter edc have been the same for years and likely want change. I don’t hunt so this gun was bought purely as a range toy and a fun carbine. There was just lighter weight options for that purpose. The gun is great and I had no problems with it. With the extras on this gun indeed it is a suitable home defense and sport carbine it just wast for me. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
Hey I appreciate the time you gave it, and if that weight is a factor for you, to each their own. Mine is the big brother to my glock 17, and they take truck rides together, camping trips and it does some chicken protection/house protection. I like it for the compatibility, but it's not for everyone. No tool is. So I appreciate your views, thanks again. BTW slings are helpful.
Yeah I prefer the Grand Power Stribog or the S&W FPC and as of late the Ruger LC 45 acp. It’s not that it’s “to heavy” to hold or shot but it was a range toy for me and there were better more enjoyable options in the category. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
I have this same PC chassis carbine with a HOLOSUN AEMS circle dot sight. Yeah, it's a boat anchor but a very accurate and reliable boat anchor, especially when you add M*CARBO internal parts and some MAGPUL external parts. Then it sings! Of all the PCCs in its price range I know of no others equal in quality and features. Only The Kel Tec SUB 2000 comes close.
I still have it no takers yet. I probably would regret it anyway she was a good shooter. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already. Thanks again
I looked at the KelTac and you get what you pay for...its just a cheaply made weapon and is a good gun for those that can't spend a lot of money. I also researched and lifted weapons of the same style and caliber at a gun shop and this one was maybe a pound more, but, it wasn't that big of a deal. The weight isn't something that is a big deal for me as I am not toting this through a battlefield or carrying for long periods of time. If I do I will ad a sling and it will hang comfortably. If it was an issue I guess I would start lifting some 10 lb dumbbells so 6-8 lbs wouldn't be such a big deal. The issue is when folks start to add all the additional hardware onto to the weapon...thats what puts the real weight onto the rifle. I have one without the telescoping sight and I love it. I have a romeo msg scope and put 33 round mags in it and it works for me. The only thing for me as a leftie is the ejection port can't be changed, but, I have not one casing hit me as I shoot so I guess mine is a keeper.
Yeah I’ve never had like anything I’ve had from Kel-tec. Just horribly made and unreliable. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
I own a Ruger PC Carbine 9mm 16.12" model 19122 with the Glock magazine adapter using 33 rounds mags. Personally, I have nothing but praises. A bit "heavy" on the front, yes, but I can handle it. Fun to shoot, dependable, very accurate, with great ergonomics, my Ruger PC is my home defense weapon system, overriding my AR-15 rifles. Very good review, except the weight issue is a non-issue for me.
I like the gun don’t misunderstand me. I actually just packed it up the guy who is buying it finally got the money lol. I’m an old grump I have a 12 gauge for home defense and a Glock 21 on the night stand. My wife chooses the CZ-97B for her bedside. I had it purely for fun and I just got a CZ Scorpion EVO 3 to replace it. Just feels lighter more well balanced and more fun to shoot. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already. Thanks once again.
@@GSquaredTactical I like the Glock 21 a lot, so much so that I got me a model 41 SF 5.3" barrel. It's slimmer, noticeably lighter, with a smoother trigger than the 21.
@davenelson859 it’s not that I can’t lift 8lbs and I think anyone with any common sense knows that’s not what I meant by it and if they watched my range review I put 400 rounds through it in one sitting. It’s a balance thing and the fact that there are a plethora of other options that are a ton more fun to shoot because they are more well balanced and aren’t front heavy etc.
It's that forward rail and long barrel, the one you purchased was also a hopped up chasis vs the normal ones. I can definitely say the keep it simple rule works here for me. This model reminds me of the kitchen sink issues with the ar , people just put to much on them, you've only got a grip on it, but that length and quad rail or whatever shield it has is significantly heavier than stock
Maybe all of the following is erroneous, I just bought my Ruger PCC and my barrel is shorter...The barrel and handguard are part of the weight but only maybe 1/3 of total weight (I detached the barrel and just by holding the 2 assembles judged the weight). The barrel is fluted and the handguard is aluminum. The center of gravity is at the mag well. Ruger put a hunk of heavy tungsten in the rifle to help reduce the blowback recoil. I wouldn't have expected recoil from a 9mm pistol round to be an issue but maybe it is something to consider in a carbine.
@nooceluap7760 they just came out with a gen 3. I am not sure if the weight changed at all but I know they changed up the way it folds so you can leave an optic mounted. So they listened to some of what we asked haha
I think it’s a matter of personal taste. I put a MCarbo muzzle break on mine. That stopped your “snappiness.” I’m not a fan of how expensive AR platforms are nor am I a fan of expensive ammo and over penetration. I wouldn’t trade mine for an AR period.
That’s the beautiful thing about guns. Everyone likes and shoots best with something different and we can have discussions on why that is and learn from it
9 mm carbines have a problem most 9 mm projectiles are not designed for increased velocities of a 16 inch barrel they fragment they don't hold together the AR-15 is a much better defensive platform everybody has likes and dislikes I own one of these little carbines but I would prefer to use my AR-15 in a defensive situation the military does not use 9 mm carbines the one bullet I would use If This Were My only tool would be the Hornady xtp 124 grain or 147 grain these projectiles will hold together at the higher velocity versus other 9 mm bullets it is a Nifty little carbine enjoy yours peace out
I own the rifle stock version of this gun, and I agree the weight is a bit issue for a 9mm carbine, a bit annoying if you gonna carry it around a lot. I think it would be a good home defense gun or just range toy.
It has some purpose but that weight makes it less fun than other options. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already. Thanks again
Clint Smith Thunder Ranch says if you're going to get a rifle get a rifle if you want a pistol caliber firearm get a pistol there is some legitimacy to that argument I say whatever floats your boat I own one of these Ruger carbines I enjoy it immensely it is not the first choice as a defensive tool I have other firearms that are better Suited as far as a long gun is concerned to each his own
At some point you have all the pistols, shotguns and rifles you’ll need for defensive, hunting etc and you’ll find yourself going back to the same ones even though you’ve bought others. So the reality is you are buying for the pure enjoyment of having something new and not for any specific purpose it’s more novelty and intrigue for the unknown. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already. Thanks again
Great video brother. With regards to your magpul flip up sights. Were you able to make them even on both sides and if so how did you do it. Can you also share a link where to buy these sights. Thank you and god bless
Unfortunately I’ve sold the gun and I don’t recall exactly which magpuls I had on it but do do not recall having an issue getting them on there properly. I know they where because I shot with it and they was dead on. Sorry I can’t really answer your question. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already.
I have one it's heavy for a little rifle ,start adding attachments and it adds up real quick ! I bought a handguard for attachments and immediately regretted it ! Took it off ! kept it minimal but added a quick release bipod ..and a truglo 30 lpvo..
She’s stout that’s for sure. Generally I associated that with quality but sometimes when it comes to guns that’s not the case. Sometimes the lighter the better quality. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already. Thanks again
Personally if you love the AR platform; and you want a tactical 9mm carbine (buy a 9mm AR15). I believe the best version of this rifle is the Magpul Backpacker version. The carbine is a great plinker, shooter and SHTF Bug-Out gun. People have proven its accuracy out to well over 100 yards. It's NOT the best Tactical Rifle or Go To War Rifle, by any means. They basically took a 10/22 TakeDown and modified it to be more usable than an average 22 plinker. If you want this as a plinker, home protection rifle, camp rifle, truck gun or bug out gun; the RUGER PC Carbine is a good choice.
I agree your build on you have it setup is heavy for a 9mm carbine. If you got the plastic stock version instead you would notice a weight saving. Good luck with your sale.
I got one a few weeks back. The only thing I added was an optic. I didn’t notice or think about the weight. Shot well, it’s very handy. Yes you could carry a rifle about the same weight but maybe you don’t want to be throwing 223 or 762x39 around. I like that it breaks down, using Glock mags is a big plus, and there seems to be a decent amount of aftermarket available if you are so inclined. If the weight is an issue get the charger, problem solved. But if you are a fit adult male it shouldn’t be a factor.
It’s not that the weight is to much and people keep confusing what I said with the truth. The truth is there are lighter weight options with same features and functions that are a ton more fun to shoot. Please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
Thanks for the take, the whole point of a PCC, to me at least, is for it to compact & lightweight. That not only looks full size, but weighing more than an AR is kinda ridic.
Yeah I mean some people like the added weight but I tend to agree with you. My take lends more towards caliber. So the heavier caliber the heavier the firearm, at least that’s just something I’ve found in reviewingz thanks for watching and please subscribe!
This is one of the greatest guns that I have it is very accurate reliable and true my wife can handle it my son and his tiny little girlfriend it has never failed it is a great firearm even truck gun.... And to talk about how heavy it is not so much I'm running a 50-round drum and that doesn't mess with the weight to me at least
I never said that it was not a well-made carbine. It is very well-made actually and has the interchangeable mag well which is awesome. Very accurate very reliable and yes, of course the average person over 13 years old would not have a problem handling it. Maybe even younger than that. The weight issue for me is not whether or not I can bench press the thing it’s just simply that there are so many other options on the market that are so much more compact that is just as reliable and accurate and way more fun to shoot at the range. So it was not a matter of it being a bad firearm that made me want to sell it. Thanks for watching and for taking time to comment and be sure to subscribe if you have not already.
I just bought a model 19122 on Friday and took it to the range Saturday, she is a heavy girl, but she is so much fun to shoot. I don't mind the weight and I love this thing.👍 I fitted mine with a 3X9 Scope and a bipod and love it. I also have a laser/light combo that I am not yet decided on... If I mount it under, the bipod has to mount behind it instead of the end. On top it is visible in the bottom of the scope. On the side makes the laser rather limited.🤷♂ At the end of the day I may just get a M-LOK mounted light and put it on the side... I suspect the weight has a lot to do with the take down feature, which I do not see myself using... Don't think they make it without though... The barrel is pretty much a bull barrel as well... But with the optic on it, I had it shooting quarter sized bullseyes from a rest with 17 rounds at 25 yards, this thing is a tac driver👍
I really liked the gun it was accurate and well made, but just wasn’t as fun for me then with others. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
They are UTG I think about $70 or so can’t remember and I believe Midway USA. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
I live the way it looks and performs I just didn’t have a good time shooting it. It felt unbalanced to me but I’m sure that’s just me. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already. Thanks again
It’s not that I’m saying it’s to heavy to pick up but I only have this as a range toy nothing else and there are lighter options that are more fun as a range toy. It’s my personal preference nothing more. I think I could bench press it but I haven’t tried lol. Thanks for watching and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
I bought this gun about 3 years ago I have the same chassis model with the Magpul 4 grip on it just like yours the gun is a little bit heavy for it to be a 9mm carbine that's do to the Thompson weight in side for steady shooting because it's a blow back operation I use the Glock mags set up I really haven't broke the gun in yet I believe I shot bout 60 rnds. on it since I had it to this date I have a 4x magnification scope with the cross hairs scope plus you can turn on red dot in the center point of cross if chose to do so it seem to be a great gun no problems at all I just wish it was 2 or 3 lbs lighter. I only paid 699.00 for mines
I knew the reason when I read the title of your video. Watched the video just to hear you say that it was the weight. The build quality is excellent, but shooting it was like working out. You'd have to be like Rambo to enjoy shooting it.
That’s exactly correct. I’ve caught a lot of grief about it but it’s not fun to shoot or practical. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
The weight issue is such a dumb talking point. Are you planning on going to war anytime soon? And if you are, are you taking a pistol caliber carbine with you? I highly doubt it. A "heavy" gun isn't an issue in a home defense situation, at the range OR when out hunting (use a sling. Problem solved).
It’s my personal preference and why people get all angry or butthurt about it is crazy to me. I don’t use PCC’s for home defense I use a 12 gauge and a FNX-45 Tactical on the night stand. PCC’s are just for fun with me and there are much lighter options that are just plain more fun. Didn’t say better made, more accurate or overall better (although some are) I simply said more fun. Thanks for watching
Yeah you know how people are. They buy a gun, probably have some kind of beef with it but because they spent their money on it and it’s theirs now they act like it’s the best thing ever. Otherwise why would they click on a video that hints around to maybe it not being what they think. They just come on here to talk smack behind a screen and to be a keyboard princess. We call them trolls. Nothing constructive about what they are saying just just attacks and to tell you how stupid you are. It’s actually laughable we reminisce and laugh about these trolls at times. Thanks for watching and for your input and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
9 minutes and 46 seconds to wait for the whole point of the video. BTW the rifle is heavey on purpose, that's why they use tungsten for the bolt.... to make it heavey.
I have the version without the handguard and the regular stock (I don't like the kind of stock you have). It is not as heavy and cost less than $700.00. I'm keeping mine.😄
I have the version with the hunting style stock and the m-lok fore-end. I don't hate the weight, it helps stay on target a little better. I love it, got mine new for $675 before taxes. I'm never getting rid of this thing. It's about as much fun as you can have with your pants on.
Bought my first one in 40 S&W and I absolutely love it. Very accurate and reliable and it hits hard. Never been a hiccup ever. I decided that I wanted one in 9mm since the ammo is less expensive and more available. Same outstanding accuracy and reliability. A bit heavy I agree, but I would say that the weight probably adds to the accuracy. I scoped both rifles because I have failing eyesight. Adding a scope is something that I would recommend for sure.
Know exactly what you mean. I bought the original carbine in 2018 . What would otherwise be a near perfect carbine is completely ruined by the heaviness in the muzzle. I'm still keeping it mainly for sentimental reasons.
I wouldn’t say we are unhappy, it goes bang so it makes us grin. But it has its cons just like everything else. Thanks for watching and please subscribe if you haven’t already
I appreciate your critique of this PC Carbine. I personally have one and paid $795 at Cabelas. Specifically, what front and back flip up sights did you put on the rifle that works?
I’m not with the gun so I can’t give you part numbers but I know that it was a Magpul MBUS Gen 2 set front and rear polymer of course. On point without adjustments when I put them on there
It's ridiculously heavy. Shocked the hell out of me. And for the weights, the recoil is terrible. It's heavier and has more recoil than my 223 rifles. Being a takedown model, we're also not likely to see any aftermarket barrel options to shave some weight
This is all correct. Be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already and check us out and follow on rumble at rumble.com/v2cc2r7-h-and-k-mark-23-old-school-legend-that-has-no-equal..html
I agree absolutely beautiful rifle. Heck even shoots good and very accurate just to heavy to have fun. People said oh it’s to heavy for you blah blah blah making fun. No it’s not to heavy to left but better balanced lighter weight guns are always more fun to shoot and a carbine should be one of those
Yeah I used it as my deer rifle last season and hauling it around the woods you can really feel it around 1 year of use with it walking miles in the woods with it got me used to the weight but when I bought an AR it was almost jaw dropping on the weight difference
It is really we carried it where we was shooting and that’s what made me really notice and it’s not only a little heavy but not balanced well at that (front heavy) which makes it feel heavier than it really it
Well that’s 15 min of my life I won’t get back. It weighs less stock. You added stuff and complain about the weight. And the title tells us you are selling it. Just say it. Be brief. Being Long winded sucks.
Sorry you was disappointed however I added nothing but a red dot to the gun which weights less than a pounds. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already. Thanks again
Sweet it was a good rifle I just didn’t use it for defense it was a fun gun for me and with lighter options I went a different route. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
This guy, me, Mr. Gene lol it always kills me when people don’t address me but they address the audience by saying this guy or he, etc. because they are professional keyboard, princesses pirates, a.k.a. trolls. It is just this simple there are way better options in the PCC world. Lighter just more fun to shoot at the range. Some of those would be the CZ scorpion, the Grand Power Stribog, the S&W FPC, Ruger LC, and the Sig MCX. I never said a single bad thing about the function, reliability, or accuracy of the Ruger PC. I just simply said that for me, it was not a good fit and for me personally, there were better options. If you like the Ruger PC carbine I do not discredit your experience with it and I’m glad that you found something you liked but just because someone doesn’t like what you like doesn’t make that person irrelevant. Good grief.
You know, I've come to a similar conclusion. I'm probably not gonna sell it, but it was an impulse buy because at the time I had an SR9C and a Glock, so I was sold on the mag thing. But the issue I came across wasn't so much mechanical. It shoots great, accurate, reliable. It was with purpose. Wth was I going to do with the damn thing? 9mm by and large isn't some great hunting cartridge. Raccoons and coyotes? Yeah, sure. But as far as a self defense rifle, for the size, I could just have an AK, AR, or Galil. Yeah, the mag borrowing is cool but is it necessary? Most militaries, l.e.o., and etc don't seem to think so. You could argue that running hot and heavy 9mm out of a 16" barrel is going to give you a little more umph than a 4-5" barreled handgun. But still nowhere near an intermediate rifle cartridge. I use it as a teaching tool and range plinker. It's cheap to teach someone rifle basics with a pistol cartridge if you're just teaching them how to use it. But if I knew what I knew today I'd have went a different route.
Yeah I think a PCC is a great home defense option especially with women but I prefer the Stribog, FPC, Keltec Sub 2k, and the Ruger LC in that order. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
@@GSquaredTactical I'd be inclined to agree with you. Not a horrible gun, but it really comes down to "why" and its hard to justify in this modern era considering our options.
The more crap you add to any weapon increases weight- ounces add up into pounds. Mine weighs 5.8 pounds empty with the MAGPUL back packer stock and a Romeo 5 mounted.
I don’t know why people have to be dicks but people are people what can you do. I mean regardless I did talk about the gun so if that’s not important to you and you was hoping there would be some profound reason I was selling it like it broke or was junk then I’m sorry to disappoint you. Thanks for watching
The title of the video is why you are selling this rifle. I’m considering buying one, so I was interested as to why. Only to watch the video for 10 min of you talking about the features and what you do like about the gun. Dozens of videos about that already. If anyone is watching this video because of your title, I just thought I’d save them some time. And that makes me a “dick”? Wow. Not looking for more comments or subscribers, eh?
People don’t realize how much time, effort and mostly money goes into making these videos for us to make $502 on average a month from adds. We make money and gain traction when watch time or duration is longer. So yea to stop people from watching the video and scrolling through to watching a few seconds of it when you could have moved right on then yes you was being a dick. I don’t think it was in unawares but if it was either way It was a dick move. Thanks for watching
It’s a great gun it is in every way. Just not fun to shoot as other offering. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
Yes sir it was a great PC, but I preferred the FPC, Stribog, CZ Scorpion and MPX. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
As mentioned it’s a comparison to other carbines lol, wen you compare a cars weight to a feather there is a stark difference so you say as much if you are comparing, which is what we do. We compare products and review them in the process. Thanks for watching and please subscribe if you haven’t already
Men complaining of an 8 lb carbine. Is that what our country has come to? 🤔 Reminds me of General Mathis complainly about kids today struggling to put their bags in overhead compartments on airplanes.
It’s not necessarily that it’s a heavy object in general. I think you missed the point. The point in most of our videos is the concept of comparison. In comparison to other 9 carbines, it’s heavy. Doesn’t matter if your Arnold or Kenneth Curtis, if something weighs less than something else, the object that weighs more is heavier. That’s where we were going with it.
This is one of those guns that I like but has no real practictical use for me. One can get an AR for the price. Also, its little brother the 10/22 is a more practical plinker
I agree as there are way better more practical carbines as well. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already. Thanks again
I bought mine 1 month ago. Switched out mag well for glock.. uses Glock mags.. 1200 rounds later and 4 cleanings and we'll over 200 failure to extract... On many different occasions..I shot over 200 rounds today and we'll over 20 fail to extract.. was cleaned very well and oiled before I shot. To anyone wanting to by this gun.. don't. Just buy something else. I am going to sell mine as soon and the gun tech at the range check it again... Behond disappointed... I will never own a ruger again
Ours was failing to feed at first and we realized with hadn’t push the Glock mag in far enough or tightened it enough. Once that was fixed it was flawless. The guy I sold it too (a place officer) runs the absolute piss out of it and says it’s a tack driver and has been flawless. However if mine gave the problems yours has I’d be pissed to
It’s about the same weight as that AK your shooting and to the comments about it being heavier than an AR pistol and Streibog pistol well yes it’s heavier it’s a carbine duh.
@@GSquaredTactical I’ll prlly end up selling mine n picking up my M&P 2.0 fde 5inch on layaway n gonna get another shotgun or rifle lol I sure have thanks great channel!
I live in crazy screw job NY state. The anti gun state. Hopefully our Supreme Court knocks down NY liberals unconstitutional gun grabbing laws and I can buy some real guns. I can't even find a cheap 50 cal single shot.
It's definitely heavy. I have an 11.5 inch AR pistol made here locally in Maryland. I also have this carbine. I shot the PC carbine then shot the AR and the weight difference was clearly noticeable. The Ruger is heavy BUT not heavy enough for me to sell mine. All in all, it was a good buy for me. Thanks for the video. I do have a question. I've heard that adding that picatinny rail to install a front sight makes the front and the rear sights not line up. Have you had an issue with the from and rear sights not lining up properly?
I haven’t but I also used adjustable flip ups and I did have to make big adjustments so I’m sure there’s something to it but I did make it work. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already. Thanks again
The SCAR Heavy is 8 lb, the M1 Garand hovers around 10 lb. I have held in my hands the same carbine you show here and It was surprisingly very heavy. 8 too 9 lb is allot for a PCC.
Great question but unfortunately I cannot answer that. Your logic is present and totally valid but I cannot answer on their behalf. I don’t get it either
It is a great carbine, but as far as balance and weight etc it’s just preference. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
Dude weight your other rifles fully set up it’ll hurt your feelings, cardio and weightlifting should also be a priority specially as you get older if you’re complaining about a walk and an 8 pound carbine your fitness must be horrendous
I’ve said it before in other comments where we get heckled for “complaining”. It’s like comparing a corvette to a mustang or some other fast car. We arnt complaining. We do reviews and make comparisons. If you can sit there and tell me this isn’t one of the heaviest carbines on the market then you must be too juiced up or just simply can’t depict weight difference for some strange reason. It’s not complaining we are simply comparing
@@GSquaredTactical I get what you’re saying dude but being realistic if you weight your other rifles fully set up there’s no way they’ll fall anywhere near 8 pounds, would they? And what other 9mm pcc weights under 8 pounds with a 16” ?
Cmmg makes a carbine that weighs 6.4 pounds. There are other options out there that weigh less than 8 pounds. The reason the weight is so high with the Ruger is due to not using a locked breech but instead a very simple blowback design.
I know I know it just wasn’t balanced well for me to enjoy. Very well built and solid platform just wasn’t for me. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already. Thanks again
Love mine, put a muzzle break on it, switched to Glock magazine well, big fat Bravo B5 butt stock, Sig green dot(Predator) with a Juliet magnifier. I don’t miss on the 9mm range. Rare if I do. Love this gun. Yeah, it’s heavy…. So what??? I’m 6’3” and 235 pounds, and not a pussy. So there’s that.
The Ruger PC Carbine is beyond reliable and the weight helps keep it on target! I shoot one in PCC comp with a Volquartsen TG9 trigger, Armanov compensator and a Trijicon MRO, the gun rocks!! 👍🏼

So try it out for yourself….

Nice 😊
Help me decide between a Ruger PCC or S&W's FPC?
@SSSnexus all day the FPC or Ruger LC 45/10mm or my favorite the Grand Power Stribog. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already

Agree
I agree it weighs a bit more than it should. It hit me by surprise, when I was picking mine up at a store. Having said that, it’s fine for what it is, weight and all. Reality is most people buy it for home defense, not to carry around in the field for hours.
I can agree with that for the most part. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already. Forgive me if I have already ask you that but we can’t see a subscriber list and they all start running together. Thanks again

Just bought one. Love it. MagPul rules.

I’ve almost bought the 41 several times
Watching a grown man complaining about 8lbs gun is laughable. 😂
Glad to make your day sir
@davenelson859 it’s not that I can’t lift 8lbs and I think anyone with any common sense knows that’s not what I meant by it and if they watched my range review I put 400 rounds through it in one sitting. It’s a balance thing and the fact that there are a plethora of other options that are a ton more fun to shoot because they are more well balanced and aren’t front heavy etc.
that was a very informative and intelligently presented video. Thank you.

For sure. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already. Thanks again

Arisaka low profile picatinny rail for the front. That will make the rail level from from to rear. Use a magpul pro LR sight in the rear.

I will look into the Ruger. Thanks for the information AMC please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already

So what is a reasonable weight for a pistol caliber carbine if 8lbs is incredibly outrageous? Did I miss that?
My full length CZ Scorpion EvO 3 is a shade under 7 pounds and Grand Power Stribog a shade under 6lbs with brace

I disagree with the weight not being important while hunting. Even with a sling, any weight saved goes a long way at the end of the day.
9 minutes and 46 seconds to wait for the whole point of the video. BTW the rifle is heavey on purpose, that's why they use tungsten for the bolt.... to make it heavey.
What’s the purpose
When other companies can make a 9 carbine half the weight, and just as accurate I don’t get it

@@zachaliles Plus, unlike with many other guns, ammo is both relatively affordable and available.😎

It's ridiculously heavy. Shocked the hell out of me. And for the weights, the recoil is terrible. It's heavier and has more recoil than my 223 rifles. Being a takedown model, we're also not likely to see any aftermarket barrel options to shave some weight

Yeah I used it as my deer rifle last season and hauling it around the woods you can really feel it around 1 year of use with it walking miles in the woods with it got me used to the weight but when I bought an AR it was almost jaw dropping on the weight difference
It is really we carried it where we was shooting and that’s what made me really notice and it’s not only a little heavy but not balanced well at that (front heavy) which makes it feel heavier than it really it
I like it because it's not plastic.
That’s a good point I just got the LC in 45 acp and like it a lot so far.

Oh and plastic flip ups but it’s heavy without all that. The point was there are less weighty options that will do the same
What are you talking about he hardly added any weight. Maybe a few ounces.
I that it was heavy out of the box
@@GSquaredTactical same man it front heavy
Love my Ruger PC carbine...keeps the groundhogs out of the garden..
Sweet it was a good rifle I just didn’t use it for defense it was a fun gun for me and with lighter options I went a different route. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
Weights almost what my M1A!
Are you ok with the weight? Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
@@GSquaredTactical , I am a short 63 y/o man, I am OK with the weight!
@mnrodriguez when then you have yourself a fine firearm. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
The Ruger PC Carbine is my favorite. I don't know what this guy is talking about
This guy, me, Mr.
@Sam_the_Sham_and_the_Pharoahs very very true
The more crap you add to any weapon increases weight- ounces add up into pounds. Mine weighs 5.8 pounds empty with the MAGPUL back packer stock and a Romeo 5 mounted.
Yep
Skip to 9:45 to find why he’s selling it.
Thanks for watching
yea that’s one of the reasons why i got rid of mine.
It’s a great gun it is in every way. Just not fun to shoot as other offering. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
Best PC Carbine I own!
It’s a well built, accurate and reliable PCC no doubt. Thanks for watching and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
The weight is a non factor to me. It weighs about the same as my AR-15 I love the PC Carbine
Yes sir it was a great PC, but I preferred the FPC, Stribog, CZ Scorpion and MPX. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
" It's too heavy, mommy!" Waaaahhh😢😢😢
As mentioned it’s a comparison to other carbines lol, wen you compare a cars weight to a feather there is a stark difference so you say as much if you are comparing, which is what we do. We compare products and review them in the process. Thanks for watching and please subscribe if you haven’t already
Yep! It is heavier than other options, but I prefer the metal chassis in it.
It’s a good rifle just everyone likes something different
@@GSquaredTactical , agree!
Fuck the haters, keep making these man
Yes sir!! Thanks for watching and for commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you have not already
Keltec sub 2000 Glock with mcarbo upgrade
Got it
M1 carbine 30 cal much lighter and more Powered round
Agreed!! Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already. Thanks again
However if mine gave the problems yours has I’d be pissed to
Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
It’s about the same weight as that AK your shooting and to the comments about it being heavier than an AR pistol and Streibog pistol well yes it’s heavier it’s a carbine duh.
AK is balanced better
I wish I had gone with one of these instead of my AR
I don’t think you mean that lol. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already. Thanks again
No you don’t lol they are cool but AR is wayyyy better
Haha for sure. Thanks for watching and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
@@GSquaredTactical I’ll prlly end up selling mine n picking up my M&P 2.0 fde 5inch on layaway n gonna get another shotgun or rifle lol I sure have thanks great channel!
Thank you
Looking at this gun now locally.
Sweet
I live in crazy screw job NY state. The anti gun state. Hopefully our Supreme Court knocks down NY liberals unconstitutional gun grabbing laws and I can buy some real guns. I can't even find a cheap 50 cal single shot.
Nice rifle, I have looked at those in shops and I agree they do seem heavy.
They do and that can be a pro I guess if we are talking recoil management. But for a 9mm? Not a great selling point if you ask me I guess
Gotcha! Thanks for your reply.
8lbs is nothing. My M16A2 when i was in the US ARMY was 8lbs and that was just with iron sights, no additional furniture.
Yeah I hear ya
The SCAR Heavy is 8 lb, the M1 Garand hovers around 10 lb. I have held in my hands the same carbine you show here and It was surprisingly very heavy. 8 too 9 lb is allot for a PCC.
It really is. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already. Thanks again
Gosh golly
What? 😂
A field stripped gun is inoperable. Why does yt object to an inoperable gun? Are they opposed to firearms safety? FJB
Great question but unfortunately I cannot answer that. Your logic is present and totally valid but I cannot answer on their behalf. I don’t get it either
It’s AK -47 heavy
It sure is! Please subscribe if you haven’t already
Heavy
For a carbine I think it’s overkill yes sir
Should have went with the basic version and slapped on a magpul stock.
Yeah you probably right. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
Maybe just fast forward to the end
Sorry you didn’t like
Great carbine. And I love that weight🤷🏻♂️
@jaybee2812 one off the top of my head is the scorpion evo. Sporting a 16” barrel it weighs just slightly over 6 pounds.
Cmmg makes a carbine that weighs 6.4 pounds. There are other options out there that weigh less than 8 pounds. The reason the weight is so high with the Ruger is due to not using a locked breech but instead a very simple blowback design.
selling a gun over two pounds? oh lord!

Knew that was coming geez classy
Very long winded just state why urban selling it we don't need all the bs
Shouldn’t have watched it
So...15 min to say...Its heavy. Waste of time clickbait.
Yep
I fell asleep.....zzzzzzzzz
Glad I could help lol
Is it rilly to much to 8 lb is wearing you out you best give up and call someone to come save you
