At least the grinder came with turned side bushings. My grinder came with stamped out metal plates. It vibrated so bad that it actually vibrated a Craftsman tool box lid shut. Had to turn some aluminum side bushing to smooth the vibrations. Thanks for the review. Been wondering about the cheaper wheels.
Thanks glen . Your spot on with your advise I followed your videos on the type 3 set which are excellent tools ,purchased a bowl gouge and again you were spot on ride the bevel like you said there is no difference easy transition from your carbide to traditional. good job on your teachings , I wonder if my wife will get me a box hollower for my birthday 😊
Thanks to the both of you can I ask what grit is the Cbn wheel and could you please outline and use of the different grits. Thanks for your channel most informative
Yes you can. Did a video on using your lathe. Take a look. th-cam.com/video/LGTKye4uUso/w-d-xo.html You'll notice also in videos I have demonstrated on my old Axminster lathe that I use as my sharpening system to sharpen my tools.
The Teagle Effect - now out of stock and who knows if they will get any more. I knew I should have ordered! Is it holding up well now you have used it a bit more?
Yes James, it's fine. I use it now on my own sharpening system - Axminster. I've had these before too. They are a great buy at almost a third of the price of your mainstream manufacturers. If they get them in stock again, grab it while you can. .
Glen think with some the comments I've heard you come out with you may upset some shall we call them i only use this that abd the next thing people 😂 but for people like me who are new to this and don't have a fortune to spend i applaud that you do show things like this. I aint got 200-400 quid to spend on Pro edge or tormek but cheap grinder and 50 quid cbn thats possibly something could do. My question if i decided to look at traditional gouges what brand would you recommend thats not gonna break the Bank?? Need master carbide first but later on its possible. 🏴👍
I’m always upsetting someone, seems to be a talent of mine 😂 Keep watching, we will be making jigs to sharpen with and then we’re get on to what tools to use.
@@glennteagleofukwoodcraftca5308 no worries I'll certainly be watching and waiting for the videos 🏴👍 its not just u I've a talent of pissing folk off aswell.
Thanks for sharing this! I use only 'basic' grinding dics for shaping and then go on with my trusted Tormek for real sharpening, and I'm considering getting a CBN wheel. So, I just wonder, if it is a good idea to always run the CBN in the same direction? Do you have any recommendations on this?
@@glennteagleofukwoodcraftca5308 Thanks! So it doesn't matter which way the wheel is mounted, I understand, as long as my bench grinder spins the right way, i.e. downwards at the front. This helps.
@@glennteagleofukwoodcraftca5308 you don't really say "why" it is good - you just show that it is "beefy" and that it runs true - not a test of the quality of CBN coating....

Vids coming soon. Keep watching.
Thanks both, I’m in ! Do love a bargain and as you keep saying the prices most places are charging is unreal

Yes
Hi.great video. Thank you.
What grit is the CBN wheel that you put on?
Welcome to the channel. Thank you. It's 180 grit.
Hello Glenn and Liza can you tell me if I can fit a CBN wheel to my wood lathe kind Regards Alan
Yes you can. Did a video on using your lathe. Take a look. th-cam.com/video/LGTKye4uUso/w-d-xo.html You'll notice also in videos I have demonstrated on my old Axminster lathe that I use as my sharpening system to sharpen my tools.
Hi Glen great videos keep em coming, just like to ask if you think it matters if it’s a slow speed grinder or a normal grinder.
Regards Dave
Slow speed is better but normal grinder is ok. You just have to be careful not to over heat the tool
Hello can this cbm wheel fit on a lathe.
Yes Mair. I have shown on another video how to sharpen on a lathe. See the link. th-cam.com/video/LGTKye4uUso/w-d-xo.html
Hi Glenn I have a Record Power WG 200 wet stone sharpener can this or any cbn wheel be fitted to make it a dry sharpener or will the speed be too low
I don't think the speed would be too low. Doesn't the wet stone wheel turn the opposite way? I've never tried it myself.

CBN should always run forward
@@glennteagleofukwoodcraftca5308Thanks! So either it is marked by the factory, or you mark it yourself, right?
Sorry I thought you meant which way in the way of directions. You meant which way round the wheel goes on. It can go either way

I don't know if I missed it, but where did you say you got the wheel from?
You missed it. Watch the video again. It's in the description box too.
@@glennteagleofukwoodcraftca5308 it's OK I found it. Ebay.
I missed if he said it was good or not. Not sure how you'd test it really. maybe see if it spins balanced?
