A few days ago, I looked into the differences between US vs UK PAPR regulations. The US only has one protection level under the NOISH regulation, while the UK has three under EN12941 (TH1, TH2, TH3). On the surface, the NOISH requirement appears to be more strict than TH3, but I think they're roughly equal in application-regulatory standards aren't the easiest things to parse and compare between countries. The Axminster system is TH1, which allows for 10% inward leakage and uses a P1 (80% filtration) filter. For comparison, the Trend Airshield Pro is TH2, which allows for 2% inward leakage and uses a P2 (94% filtration) filter. TH3 units allow for .2% internal leakage and use P3 (99.95% filtration) filters. All of that is to say that the Axminster unit might be better suited for green wood. With the amount of dry wood that you turn, I would encourage you consider at least a TH2 rated unit.

I agree with your comment that the safety guys dont really do any crafting. It seems the USA environment really causes this litigious response from an early age in an effort to reduce lawsuits because someone did something stupid. Unfortunately, you cant fix stupid. You can only add guards, light curtains, gates, safety eyes, dead man switches, etc.😅
